I do not recommend ordering online. I placed an expensive order and it took 7 days for the order to be ready for pickup. I called the store on day 6 and a very curt manager told me that online orders go to the corporate office first then filtered to stores. read more

I decided to take my cat to Petsmart because it was closer to my home. JUST BECAUSE ITS CONVIENENT doesnt make it better. I had my vet office fax to pet smart my cats records for rabies about a month ago...and they lost them... They made me wait a 1/2 an hour I was late for work and my cat was a bit agitated as anyone would be in a carrier ...I didn't get a good vibe from Carley who is the lead cat groomer, so I left and wont try to take my cat there again.. Going back to Petco where, Ashley is phenomenal there..... She is @ the Petco in Ellisville. When you don't get a good vibe don't take your cat to somewhere you don't feel comfortable they made me feel very uncomfortable and wanted me to wait while her nails were being trimmed... I've never had Ashley ask that before..... read more

You wonder what in the world can I possibly say about another PETSMART????!! Well this one is located at the end of a nice big plaza with tons of parking near the door...as the other businesses there don't bring in tons of people taking up all the parking. There did seem to be a lot of people that actually take their pets inside this location. My poor dog doesn't get invited that often because I'm usually swinging by on my way home from work or something...This was a little smaller than some locations and I like that because I can get to what I need with less steps ---I don't really enjoy walking myself to death inside a store. The cat adoption was up against a far corner in the front of the store and was clean and organized. The cats appeared to be in good health. I always stop by and say hello to the kitties...They had some discounts on the new hills science diet cat food--I got a few cans...but my brats just adore fancy feast....I also was interested in the new Bil-Jac for dogs...so I got Big Black Boy Lambert a bag of that to try and he loves it. Now mama just has to work more to keep them all in kibble and treats... read more

It was the worst experience I have ever had. They charge me way too much money cost me $75 just to do a test for her ears. They told me that she does not have ear mites and cleaned her ears for me. Then a few months later my cat was still scratching at her ears, so I took her to family pets. They ran a test for only $15. And then told me she did have ear mites and something else. They gave me medication for under $15 and my cat seems to be doing a whole lot better. Petsmart sucks their prices suck even more. I can get food and treats for Les at Walmart. read more

I have been going to Petsmarts to purchase Maynard's toys and food for years now. Their staff is always helpfull and the store is always clean. They do have a vary large slection of just about everything for your pets needs. The rewards program is great giving you special pricing on items through out the store. On Maynard's birthday the sometimes get a coupon for $10 towards a toy. I know they have a vet in their store, but I have never taken him to see the vet here. They do offer pet grooming here as well and have never tried the services. read more

We have been coming to this Petsmart location for over three years to buy treats, chew toys and training classes for our dog. The staff is uber friendly and variety products are great with reasonable prices. Grooming review: I have had my poodle groomed here twice now so I feel like I can accurately review the salon. The first time was 5 weeks ago and the second time was just yesterday. The first cut was okay with Rosie so I decided to return. Yesterday, they "upgraded" me to a better shampoo/conditioner supposedly and my puppy did not smell nice (usually they spray them with scents or something to make them smell fresh). The worst part about the second service: The cut was not proportional throughout. There were longer hairs throughout the body that were left over/missed. I had to go back and cut her hair myself to fix it. The cost is high, I paid $62 plus I gave the guy a $5 tip (bc I'm nice like that) even though I wasn't satisfied. $62 for a 5 month old, 6 ib poodle is a bit much in my opinion for petsmart. I did speak to the manager and she was nice and groomed my puppy's head hair a bit more evenly the next day. I will not be back and I don't recommend the salon to others unless you want to pay $$ and fix the cut yourself at home. Not to mention, it took them 3 hours total to complete the grooming service! I just had higher expectations. read more

I dig PetSmart. This is actually the location where we take our pup dog for vet services via Banfield. Friends of ours recommended a specific vet so we took him in for his first vet experience a few weeks back. I believe her name is Dr. Mattes, and she was really nice to work with. Our pup has his second appt. next Monday so hopefully we will continue to have positive vet visits at this location. As far as the store - well, it is a chain and not much different than any other PetSmarts in the area. I have noticed that some of the location outside the city tend to have more inventory on items that are sized - i.e. collars, clothing, leashes, etc. We usually frequent the PetSmart on Chippewa for all other pet needs - cat, ferret, dog food/goodies. We are also signed up for basic puppy training at that location so stay tuned for a potential update based on that experience. PetSmart seems comparable in price as far as the other pet-specific stores go and even into your traditional dept. stores like Wal-Crap, Target, KMart, etc. They offer the Petperks card, which tends to save a few cents here and there. I love the fact that you can bring your pets in with you. I have yet to have a negative experience with any associate at any of the PetSmarts I frequent so no complaints there. The stores are always clean for the most part - I think I've only seen one instance where there was dog poo on the floor....and it was very fresh so blame the owner on that one. They have stations with wipes all over so no excuse for not picking up after your pet. There is also lots of variety when it comes to food and accessories. I am a fan of PetSmart. It is definitely my first choice when it comes to the larger pet stores - Petco is 2nd. read more

I like petsmart, but i really don't see the appeal as a go to for cat and dog supplies. The selection in the accessory department is slim considering that all they do is pet supplies. i was looking for a specfic collar. they did not have the collar i wanted but they also did not have to much for my Buddy. They had alot of girly collars but not much in the big boy collars. unless i need something special i will stop but i think i will stay with Target of Walfart for my pet needs. read more

I've been going to a petsmart for over 10 years now. I've lived all over St. Louis, and have been a frequent flyer to 4 different stores over the years. The Lemay Ferry one is one of the top ones I've been to, next to the arnold location. I've also frequented the sunset hills, and kingshighway locations. I take my lab and beagle lab mix to get baths and their nails trimmed here a few times a year. The staff is always great with them, and my pups love going in to get pampered! Some reviews said they take too long on their pets, but I would prefer they take their time, than rush through the motions. If I pay for a 60 minute massage for myself, I expect to get a 60 minute, full intensity massage, not an incomplete one. I expect the same for my pets. Yes, the 2-4 hour window seems large, but I love it! I can go run errands, or go home and clean my floors, without my dogs flopping around everywhere. The groomers tables are almost always full when I drop my dogs off, so I usually gauge the time off of how busy they are. They do have recommendations for different services the next time I bring my dogs in, and sometimes I try them out, and sometimes I pass. Either way, the staff is always nice and courteous. The store itself is always clean and organized. The staff inside the store are helpful as well! I love that this location is the closest to my home, and look forward to many years of business here! read more

Lorraine at the Littleton PETSMART on Wadsworth and cross in Littleton is a horrible human being. After adopting a cat from THIS SAME PetSmart in October they denied my application bc I checked I did not want a disabled cat. She was rude and unprofessional and my kids left in tears. Very disappointed in their grooming services. Brought our rescue dog there and the groomer approached our dog. She growled and the groomer immediately days I can't groom her I don't want to get bit. 3 seconds of interaction with our dog and she already knew she couldn't groom her. I had ONE experience with petsmart grooming when my now 5 yr old shih tzu was about 8 months and that turned me off forever and after witnessing today's grooming I was reminded why you should never, ever take your beloved pet here for grooming. First off let me say that I was not the customer but I couldn't help but notice how roughly the young girl was treating a small black & white dog while I waited to pick up my dog from Banfield. When shaving his underbelly she lifted him on his hind legs and proceeded to shave and once finished she did not set him back down on all fours. She just let go! She just let go of him and he dropped down on all fours like a sack of potatoes. I got SO mad and this wasn't even my dog. She continued to man handle him and the dog started panting hard. Poor baby. Then she went about trimming his paw pads. He YELPED FOUR TIMES! And tried snatching his paw back and she just yanked it to her even harder. At this point I'm horrified and I walked up to the glass window that this girl must have forgotten was TRANSPARENT, and stood there. When she realized I was watching she became gentler and even tried to pet the dog. I mouthed "ridiculous!" And walked off when my name was called to pick up my pet from Banfield. Even more horrible, there was an older lady (coworker) in there with her who did not so much as flinch or bat at eye at the dog crying out in pain. This place is a torture chamber. Don't bring your pets here. I'm calling & complaining to management in the morning. A lot of petsmart grooming staff are pissed off young girls, if they're horrible to humans a dog doesn't stand a chance. read more

First this was not the staff's fault. I had my poodle groomed and went to pay with a check. Their check system rejected me and the store was due to close in 15 minutes! I had money in the bank from selling my home so it was a good check. This was humiliating and I didn't know what to do for a moment. I was tearful and shaking because they wouldn't release my dog. I decided to go to Dierbergs and wrote a check to get cash. That check went thru and then went back to pick up my fur baby. I've been a customer for over 10 years, but I don't know if I will go back ever again. People were looking at me in line like I was a crook. Just awful. Policy would not let manager override the check system even when I pulled up my bank balance on the phone to prove it wouldn't bounce. read more

I have no complaints. The store has always been organized when I had to come get supplies. They usually have good deals on the food I feed my dogs. This weekend they have a good deal on dog toys..buy 2 get 1 free which is definitely worth it. Petsmart is my favorite pet store. Join the pets perk club, it's often saved me a bunch of money and they normally have exclusive deals just for members. I haven't visited the Banfield at this location yet. read more

The first time I went in I tried to do a walk in and was told no and the person was incredibly rude. So a week or so later I decided to give it another go and make an appointment. The day of my appointment I received a phone call saying that the appointment time slot was "no longer available." the person didn't apologize, was quite rude, and said that I should try to reschedule sometime this weekend instead. Unbelievable. I have never had this much trouble trying to get my dog groomed or had so many people be so rude to me before at a PetSmart. I'm seriously disappointed by my experience here and will NOT be returning, for any reason. read more

The downfall is some of the employees don't know nothing about the pets there and the proper way to take care of them. But almost every mainstream pet store doesn't know about their pets. I registered for a training class at the Mehville MO Petsmart store online. I was told someone would contact me and that payment arrangements would be made. I was never contacted. I went to the class figuring i would pay then. I have a 6 month old mixed breed puppy. She neeced basic training and social skills. There were numerous dogs already there and my pup started barking. The trainer looked at her like she was some kind of vermin and asked "Who's that". When I said my puppy's name I was informed that her name was not registered. I showed her the form and she said she never got it and loudly stated I had not paid. The trainer was rude and confrontational the whole time and acted as if the error was my fault. The trainer made no effort to calm the dog down or show me how to do it or let me try and then said the class was full. The trainer then said my dog was not good with other dogs and "I can't have her in here. I thought training including how to interact with other dogs. I then left. There was no apology or explantion. Needless to say I will take my training and other business to someplace other than Petsmart. I would not trust that person to train a pet rock! read more

I had an amazing experience at Petsmart. I recently acquired a 1 year old Yorkie. We had nothing! She didn't even come with a collar. So we drove straight to Petsmart and found our way to the collar/leash aisle. My favorite part about our visit were all of the employees that walked around the store asking if we needed help. WE DID! Someone showed us (meaning me) around the collars and what kind would work best for our new fur baby. We got her all collared/leashed up and walked around the very organized and signed marked store to find food/water bowls, dog food, shampoos, a small coat and a neme tag for her collar. We were asked about 3 times if we needed assistance. I loved that the aisles were clearly marked, and everything was easy to find. They had a great selection. The cashier assisted us in saving more money by getting a "New Puppy Coupon Book". The cost was $20 for the book but it gave you a free bag of food, a free grooming, vet check, and tons of coupons which we were able to use right then. The staff were uber friendly and helpful. Petsmart really made an impact on me during that visit. I will be back. read more
