Best price of anywhere, but the service is still the very best. I mean it. And we always tip because they do such a good job. Now I see why this building has successfully been here for decades. Edit: I read the review from 3 days ago from an "unhappy customer" well I just want to say my cat gets shaved Everytime too, and they say they can't trim his fur halfway. I believe them, I mean they could do that, but for the price a shave is reasonable. The owner does have enough customers and demand (most affordable place around) that she DOES get to dictate which customers she will take and how she will take them/what services she can reasonably offer for said price. If you want your incredibly shaggy and huge dog to get trimmed up the way you want you'll have to find somewhere else, and it'll be $200 minimum, plus tip. So yeah, for the money I do what Ms Anderson says and we all leave happy. Especially my cat. Whoever said the customer is always right was dead wrong. And these "shaming reviews" where "I left in tears" make me sick. Nost people leave happy and they won't leave a review because they are happy to get along with their lives. When people are unhappy they are much more likely to review, meaning reviews are always skewed negative. Ignore the fussy customers and try this place out. It really is the best bang for your buck. My fiancé lived in Webster growing up, and remembers Mrs. Anderson's being around when he was young. They do amazing work. Blaze is a good boy, and loves to be pampered. But he is also feisty, so we also cannot thank them enough for their time and patience. He looks like a lion so he gets the lion cut. This was our first time at Mrs. Anderson's grooming. We had been looking for a groomer that had availability that was not scheduled so far out and could see both dogs at the same time. Before we were having to schedule them separately and go out two different days... we were pleasantly surprised that they were able to fit us in on a Saturday. The place is super cute - almost gift shop-like in the front area. They did a great job. We did the package with the added shed-x and nails and grinding. Both dogs look and smell great! They took extra care of my 16 year old shepherd mix with bad hips. They were careful to make notes at drop off about his hips and any weird phobia they had. I am disappointed to leave a negative review for a place our dogs have loved for two years for their nail trims. All of visits were positive and calm, and today we were told we could not return because our dogs were scared and had to be held down for the nail trim. This was the first time I was told that it did not go well, and I was shocked to be told that we could no longer return. I also do not want an employee to get hurt holding down a bigger dog (50 and 60 pounds). It did feel like a step too far to be handed my dogs back and told to never come back to their business. After two years of being a customer I felt that more of an explanation would have been helpful, as neither of our dogs are aggressive. I had loved coming here, and always enjoyed purchasing their toys for every holiday, and until today our dogs enjoyed going as well. If I'd been told more gently, or received an explanation of the issue before being asked to go somewhere else, I would not have been as disappointed. A bad haircut can be forgiven, and when I picked my Yorkie Max up, I was willing to do just that. He was choppy and a uneven. Honestly, I might have been able to do a better job myself. For $70 with tip, I did expect better. And in the past, I have been very pleased with Max's grooming at Mrs Andersons. I was told his groomer was new, and I really did not want to complain and get her or him in trouble. After getting Max home and out of the car, I noticed he was acting very lethargic, not his usual self. He hasn't been jumping on the couch or even asking to go out. On our morning walk, he is limping. Poor Max. Mrs Andersons, what happened? At this point, I'll be bringing Max to the vet and I'm asking for a full refund from Mrs Anderson's. Update: the owner at Mrs. Andersons called, made a bunch of excuses, and said "If you didn't write a bad review, I would have given you your money back". Well Mrs. Anderson, if you would have refunded my money, I could have given you a more positive review. Instead, you escalated the problem. Not acceptable! read more

I have been taking my dog here for more than two years without incident. I have always paid for full services and tipped generously. Yesterday, however, I was met with the rudest customer service I have ever encountered. The owner took it upon herself to attempt to shame me into thinking I was a neglectful owner and shouldn't even own a Great Pyrenees. He's is a very big dog and always a lot of work, but nothing out of the ordinary. I was told I was free to go elsewhere, but if I left him they would shave him. I was in stunned disbelief. I insisted they not shave him as it was totally unnecessary. I left feeling sick and worried about my dog. My husband went up to talk calmly with them and try to figure out the problem. They were just as rude to him. To quote what he was told, "The truth hurts. You're free to go elsewhere. We have a two week waiting list and I'm not afraid to lose customers." I think the truth of the matter is she just didn't feel like putting in the work it takes to groom my dog yesterday. I think she thought if she was rude enough I'd go elsewhere. She was spot on. THIS PLACE DOES NOT LIKE TO GROOM DOODLES AND TALKS POORLY OF ALL OWNERS OF DOODLES. Why not just not groom doodles? It's hard to believe anyone would recommend this place. They quote you a higher price due to matting, then charge a $16 mat fee on top of that...ummm isn't that what the higher quote due to matting was for? Then, the rude owner proceeds to complain about ALL doodles and their owners. WOW!! Maybe this place should just say, we don't groom Doodles. $86 for a 33lb Aussiedoodle. In addition, they heavily advertise 'grooming since 1960', when in reality the new owner, who is very abrasive and rude, has owned it five years. There are many groomers who are not rude that do a great job, I suggest using one of them. AND...they missed the nails on one paw completely and didn't pluck hair from her ears like I requested. BUT the real kicker is the owners attitude and abrasive tone from the start. read more

Haircut place okay, but I was not expecting them to shave my dog down to his skin. They said they would use a 1inch cutter when I dropped him off, and I picked him up to find a naked mole rat. NOT CUTE, definitely not worth the $50. They told me his gnarls prevented a proper cut, but they could have easily cut them out with a scissors and kept going. Or they should have called me before making the decision to completely shave him. I would have much preferred brushing out the gnarls myself at home and bringing him back another time. And they left his ears and tail long, making him look like a toothbrush. Very shocked and dissatisfied. My poor, cute little boy :( Update 1: Against my preference, I scheduled another appointment for my dog here since other groomers are fairly not taking new clients during COVID. They made my appointment 8am. I got there early to make sure my pup was first in line, as they recommend. Only to then find out the place was closed for 24hrs due to COVID testing. Now, I understand COVID. I'm not mad about that. What infuriates me is that they never called me to tell me my appointment was cancelled, instead letting me wake up at the crack of dawn and drive out to find out myself. They told me it's because they didn't have my number (I've given it to them three times now), and that I didn't have a number on file because I was a new client. I am not a new client, and they lost all my information last time, too. So, here I am, dropping my 2 star review to a 1 star review. And the worst part is, I'll still have to bring my dog back here since, like I mentioned, there are understandably limitations against new clients at other groomers. Updated 2: Finally got my dog in for a new appointment. Right off the bat they had rude customer service, saying they don't have time to take care of his gnarls because they'll have 40+ dogs. Listen, if I'm paying $50 for a haircut, it's going to be nice. It's not my fault you overbook yourself. I could do the gnarls in 10 minutes myself if I had known that was a no tolerance policy beforehand. Here I thought I was paying for the full haircut, not do some yourself at home and then we'll do the ees We'll see how he looks, but I'm not hopeful. Update 3: I got my dog back, and he looked great! I take my Lab/ Doxie mix rescue doggy here every few months. They do a great job on her nails. The groomers are always kind and patient with her. She has one paw that is very sensitive, but they are always gentle with her. I even come back with her to calm her down and talk to her, while they are clipping her nails. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. After taking my dog here, I was very dissatisfied with the service we received. The groomer he was with, Jerry (a woman) cut his face too short in multiple spots, they feed him something he was not supposed to have because the night we left he got extremely sick with diarrhea, was vomiting all over the house, his back leg was sore to the touch, and he was hesitating when walking on it after his visit with them. My dog had none of these symptoms prior to his visit with this grooming salon, so something had to happen during his visit. When we first started going to this grooming salon, I gave specific instructions to not feed my dog anything (not even treats) due to his food allergies. I ended up having to take him to the vet to have him checked out and the vet agreed that something happened that I was not made aware of. I went to the salon to speak with the ladies, Jerry and the lady who sits at the front desk they were very rude, unsympathetic, and would not tell me what happened while my dog was in their care during his visit. The groomer, Jerry keep denying that she cut his face too short over one of his eyes and on one side of his nose as if I went home and did it myself. She keep storming off and coming back asking me to bring him in, so she could see it. I told them I will never bring my dog back to their grooming salon after I left him in their care and he got hurt. The lady at the front desk keep saying he was fine when he was here. I told her apparently he was not because he got sick overnight and something was wrong with his leg as well. He was fine when I brought him in and nothing happened at home when we left. All I asked them was did something happen while he was at the salon that they did not make me aware of. I was really hoping they would be honest, but that was just wishful thinking on my part. There could have been a million scenarios, but one thing is certain my dog was fine when I dropped him off and when I picked up he was not. I did not feed him anything outside of his normal diet for him to get as sick as he did and there is no way anything should have been wrong with his leg if nothing happened. So, everyone beware if you take your dog here! My experience was not great. My hope is that no one experiences this and they don't treat other customers as they treated me. read more
