Nearly two years ago, my husband and I moved to a house in Geneva, and our finished basement was overrun with spiders. I was hesitant to call Joe because he is based in Carol Stream, making Geneva a bit of a hike, but after killing 14 spiders in our basement bathroom one day, and finding 10 there the next day, I could not cope anymore. Joe was happy to come out and give our house a thorough spray against pests. He does an extremely thorough job, even going into our crawl space to treat it as well. We now have the house treated against bugs quarterly, and I have not seen a spider in the basement since (true story). I would highly recommend Splat Pest Control if you too have a bug issue.

The ants were gone, until recently (which wasn't entirely surprising, I was told they would probably come back in a few months.) I called Robert again on a Monday and he said he would call me back to schedule. He didn't - I called him back on Tuesday and he said we check the schedule and get back to me. He finally did and advised he would be at my home on Wednesday. He didn't show. When I called the company number to see if someone was going to show, I was told that Robert had fallen off a ladder the day before, but he was fine being discharged from the hospital that day and somebody would get back to me. No one got back to me. I didn't call another exterminator because I was told Robert would still come out and I didn't want to take the business away from him. The ant problem began to accelerate and I called the company again a few days later. I asked if someone could come out that day, as I have a crawling infant at home and the ants are a real problem. I was told that someone would be there in the late afternoon or early evening. I waited at home all afternoon and night and no one showed or called. I have yet to receive a follow-up call or explanation and I hired a different exterminator who immediately came out and fixed the problem. The only reason I am giving 2 stars instead of 1, is because on the first trip out Robert was very timely and friendly and the problem was at least temporarily resolved. This could be a unique occurrence, but as a result I will not be using the company again.

He would wait until the wee hours and feast in the pantry... leaving droppings and crumbs inside the cabinet (inconsiderate)! I called my condo building's vendor for pest control--they said they were not available until the next week AND would only lay bait traps in my house, not try to find the source of the problem. I asked one of my friends for a pest control referral and they too weren't able to come out for a week. After searching online, I decided to call Diamond. They were able to come the very next morning (a Sunday) and I asked that they come as early as possible. Brian arrived on time at 8:30am and took the time to investigate the problem by moving my appliances to find the source of the problem. The culprit: a hole around our oven's gas line providing access to our kitchen and ultimately, to the pantry. Brian sealed it immediately (as well as patched some other potential problem areas) and the price was extremely reasonable. Its been months and we haven't had a problem since. We appreciated Brian's work so much, he will now become our entire building's pest control vendor (we fired those other guys).

I…read moreinitially contracted their services in July 2023 for a rodent problem, but the issue remained unresolved. I requested a follow-up visit in January 2024 due to continued signs of activity; however, the technician concluded that their previous work was intact and that I should not be experiencing further issues. Additional charge six months after what should have been a complete sealing of my property. Despite their assessment, the problem persisted. I have attempted to contact the company several times since then to seek further assistance but my calls have gone unreturned. The ongoing nature of this infestation, compounded by the recent discovery of another dead rodent and a hole in a flour bag, suggests that the initial exclusion and sealing services were not performed effectively. As a customer who paid for both the initial service and a follow-up visit, I am disappointed by the lack of resolution and the company's failure to respond to my inquiries. I will be seeking a different provider that stands behind their work and maintains professional communication.
