Percy's has been a round for a while but I would not go back if I were not invited by a friend. I ordered a side of hash browns "crispy" and a side of biscuit's and gravy. The hash browns were not crispy and the gravy on the biscuits was revolting. It was not the white, creamy, sausage gravy we have come to expect. It was instead this odd, almost clear gravy with little specks of pinkish sausage bits. It looked like up chuck with mucus. Gross. Service was ok but rushed. The ambiance is old farm house with a Cracker Barrel vibe. But Cracker Barrel does a better job, believe it or not. Not a fan of Percy's. read more

Hair... looks great on humans and animals, but not in food... more on that later. Stopped in to meet up with a friend. This was a halfway point, and I wanted to try their Corned Beef Hash. Don't have much experience, and thought I would give it a go. Came with two 'dropped' (Poached?) eggs, and two sides (opted for hash browns and a pancake). The good: Corned Beef hash was actually quite good! It was griddled to a perfect crispiness, and the egg was a nice touch to bring everything together. Hash browns were nice, but nothing remarkable, very similar to what you'd get at IHOP. The restaurant itself has a pretty cool vibe and attentive service. The bad: The pancake was a disgrace. It was seemed barely done enough to not have liquid batter within. Without being drenched in butter and syrup, it was practically flavorless. My friend's ordered his eggs scrambled, but got something more resembling fried and cut up with a spatula. The price point seems pretty high considering what we got. If this place were located closer to, or in the city I might be more forgiving. The ugly: My friend found one hair in his food, and while taken aback, kept eating... when he found the second hair, he stopped altogether. You can be overpriced and have underdone pancakes, but hair in food is a no-go. read more

I like that the booths feel very private and have little artworks hanging around. It's a cute, country, quaint style. For a reasonable price, they serve a really large breakfast. My boyfriend got blueberry pancakes and I got pumpkin French toast (toast dipped in pumpkin batter) and wow both were amazing. The French toast came with maple butter, and we asked for extra for the pancakes since it was so good. Because the druthers (sides) are large, we were able to share apple sauce, bacon, sausage, eggs, and hash browns. We also got a side of fruit which had a great variety of fruit. I loved the pumpkin French toast. It was tasty and unique. All the sides were great and enough quantity to share. Overall, the food was great, service was great, and I'd love to go to another Persy's again. read more

As breakfast places go, Percy's is at the top of the list. I go there regularly and order many different items from their large menu. The food is always excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful, respectful and friendly. Guaranteed, you will always be treated respectfully and with accommodation. However, anyone who thinks they can bully folks to get to the front of the line (sometimes there is a line) will find they have a fine sense of boundaries and do not gladly suffer fools. That being said, there are good reasons Percy's Place is so popular, good food, reasonable prices, and a professional staff who has worked there for years. read more

I have always liked Persys. Nice homely feeling and good food. Rudeness level of the staff (manager that is waiting tables) is at an all time high. Reminded me 3 times there are others in front of me she will get to me when she gets to me. Sign says wait to be seated but nobody was around to seat me. After 5 minutes I went looking for someone and manager/waitress told me to go back and read the sign. I get there's a shortage of labor but maybe if they paid the staff more they could fix this, maybe not. On top of that the hash browns were cold, didn't even bother to warm them up and had to remind her to bring my OJ. Just heard her reprimand the table next to me they would need to wait as she is too busy. Sad to hear customers apologize to waitress for expecting service. Then they have the audacity to add a convenience fee. I'm usually a good tipper but sending a message with this one. I doubt they will get it though. read more

First off can I just say that the food was the best breakfast food I have ever seen and tasted. My waiter was very friendly and the seater was the nicest person I have ever met. The lighting was very good, and I loved sitting in there little booth because it is basically a nook where you have a good amount of privacy and you can talk without having to yell. Very big pieces of onion though! Barely any cheese! My friend ordered an omelette and hers was huge mine not so much! I'm on the search for the best local waffle. I got the waffle breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausages. (-$11.79) [a plain waffle was -$8.99] It was really great all together. The big waffle was more airy than I prefer mine. A bit crunchy on the outside. Good taste. Need the sweetness of whipped cream or syrup though for a desert style waffle. They didn't charge me for a side of whipped cream. My boyfriend got a HUGE meatlovers omelet (-$12.99) and loved it. Great prices! Will come again! read more

Not it. Frozen chicken. Waffles and pancakes were both made from mixes and tasted old in addition to being chewy/rubbery. Fish cakes on the Benny were flavorless and undercooked. Hash browns also undercooked. Cornbread was dry and old. Biscuits were dry and flavorless. I'm writing this review as someone who has worked as a chef in the breakfast and restaurant industry for years. Please do not go here if you'd expect fresh food when you eat at a "restaurant." My husband and I come here almost every week for breakfast and it's one of our favorite places. When I ask for crispy bacon it arrives actually crispy! The service is always great (Linsey in particular is always friendly and helpful) and the food is delicious. Sometimes it's busier than usual and there might be a line but it clears out quickly. We had high hopes for this place as we had heard good things. Such a cute restaurant- it really has potential. I got the avocado toast which is sliced avocado and tomato on white toast. The most plain avocado toast I've ever had in my life, but add salt and pepper and it's decent. I also got a side of home fries which were undercooked and the seasoning was overpowering. My husband got a breakfast burrito which was flavorless and had avocado skin inside the wrap. The hostess got our drinks right away which I thought was awesome, but our waitress never asked or came over to refill my coffee. My husband asked for a water when we got our food and it never came. When we finished eating our waitress just put the bill on the table and that's when we asked again and finally got some water. One of the best places to have breakfast on the South Shore & Cape. We drive 18 miles (from Weymouth) to go there to eat breakfast on weekends. It's my mother's favorite breakfast destination, also! I love the Huevos Rancheros (covered with plenty of fresh avocado). Always enjoy the pancakes, and the waitresses are just the friendliest people on the planet! I don't know if I quite buy that, but they do have quite a few options. I went with some family on the morning of Christmas Eve, looking forward to enjoying a hearty breakfast. The menu is large, but upon closer examination you realize that they really serve a smaller set of items and then pair them with different main components. Either way, this does provide a good number of eating options. It is easy to get stuck trying to decide what you want. On this morning I went for the Endless eggs, which allows you to have unlimited eggs cooked the way you want with 2 sunrise sides. I got my eggs poached and added home fries and applesauce. I also got a side of bacon since I like having bacon with breakfast. The initial plate came out with probably 7 poached eggs, so I ended up not reordering since I was pretty full when I was done. The poached eggs came with hollandaise sauce and were good but not fantastic. The home fries were tasty, but not as good as what Thornton's serves. The bacon was good but not great, and the same can be said for the applesauce. Overall the food was tasty and filling but not amazing. Persey's prices are great, and the portions are generous, so you get a lot of food for your money. The service was pretty average (and has been every time I have gone), and the food is also average, tasting good but nothing that will blow you away. Persey's is a great choice for a lot of variety and good prices, but I have certainly had a better breakfast elsewhere. read more
