    Deconstructed pizza, and flatbread!
    Samantha E.

I visited Perso on a Thursday night with the party of four. We had a reservation and needed it. The place was packed on weeknights they have a tasting menu for $29. This tasting menu is a great value and we all ordered it. I ordered the cod, which was excellent . The appetizers were similar to pizzas and they were fantastic as well. I don't go to Louisville often, but if I went back, I would definitely try to revisit this restaurant .

It's been almost two months since I dined at Perso, and I'm still thinking about it. First off, my biggest suggestion if you want to dine here: Do the prix fixe menu! Perso offers a prix fixe menu, Sunday through Thursday, for just $29. A portion of all prix fixe sales go to Blessings in a Backpack, which helps feed local children who suffer from food insecurity. Through this menu, you get the pick of a starter, entree and dessert, and if you go with others ordering from this menu, you could order pretty much everything on it. And this menu blew me away! For the starters, we tried the Brussels Sprouts Salad, Apple and Radicchio and Salsiccia alla Pizzaiola. The Brussels Sprouts Salad with its copious cheese and sprouts was the star for me, though all three were wonderful. Not a snoozer among them. For my entree, I got the Barchetta di Pane, which is served in a bread boat (!!!), with pomodoro, fontina, confit garlic and herbs. This comes out on a large platter with a scissors to cut through the bread. More entrees should come with scissors! Think of this like pizza bread amped up to 11. Hands down the best thing I ate. We also tried the desserts. Loved the ice cream! Perso also stands out for cocktails. The ambiance of Perso was cool with a bit of an Italian cafe flair. We ate at an outdoor table to soak up what we figured was one of the final warm nights of the year, but there are indoor tables as well. And after you're done, you can head into the back patio for its Segreto Garden Bar ("segreto" means "secret" in Italian). Another supremely cool spot to take in. It's open March through October. Love that Shelby Park has such cool, delicious spots like Perso. Definitely one of a kind!

Delish!! The pre fix menu is fire. They have a range of options for $29 on the weekdays for apps, entrees, and desserts. I had this Kohlrabi with walnuts, the brisket, and a chocolate gelato. So good and you can't beat the price!

Wow, what an experience! Divine night out. Loved leaving the choices to the chef and enjoying a variety of options. The appetizers were the star of the show. Excellent cocktails and wine, too. A must!

the charcuterie board was about as inspiring as a grocery store deli tray. Nothing terrible, but definitely nothing to write home about. The lamb shank, though, was downright bad--dry, under-seasoned Now, to be fair, I'm from Los Angeles, so my standards might be a little skewed. We're kind of spoiled when it comes to food. But even setting that aside, this just didn't hit the mark. The saving grace? The cucumber salad. Shockingly good. Crisp, flavorful, and perfectly dressed. If I ever came back (not likely), I'd just order three of those and call it a night.

Chef's choice Apple dessert -- Louisville restaurant week special

So, so impressive, I absolutely loved this place. I unfortunately came here alone, sat at the bar. It was restaurant week and my husband and his brothers wanted to go to a basketball game. I dropped them off and had a hell of a meal on my own. I started with the crostino di tonno. I love raw tuna, but cooked tuna skeeves me out. This changed my whole perspective, and was an incredible way to start the meal. Then came the osso bucco. It was so perfect and tender. The sauces that accompanied it were perfect. I capped off the dinner with the chef's choice apple dessert, which was wonderful as well. The ambiance and locale were also stunning! I didn't even feel like I was in Louisville when walking in and around the restaurant. It felt so upscale. I really cannot wait to be back, and take some people next time! Highly recommend.

Chef's table was incredible. All the foods were very well balanced in flavor. Very well prepared!

After several previous excellent experiences dining at Perso, I knew I had to take my mom here for her birthday meal. The Chef's Tasting experience is the best deal you can get for upscale dining. For $55 each, we got 4 starters, 2 mains, and dessert. We loved the variety of dishes served. Each one was prepared carefully and presented beautifully. Service was incredibly warm and welcoming. I love this place!

Perso is about a seven minute walk from our house, but we have only gone there one time for a date. That night was finally in December 2024 to celebrate a late Christmas. After spending a lot of money on traveling, we wanted a nice dinner but at a more budget-friendly cost. We picked a Sunday because that is one of days they have a $30 prix fixe menu with an app, entree, and dessert. Somehow, even though space is limited and it's a popular place, my wife was able to get us a last minute reservation. Even the bar seats are reserved, so we felt very fortunate. We were seated in the back room where you're surrounded by a working kitchen and a lot of hustle and bustle. As the evening went on, the atmosphere became slightly less enjoyable as other groups were seated and gave the servers very little room to maneuver. The cocktail was really enjoyable. We had a glass of red wine for our second drink, which was great for the price point. For food, I picked the Salsiccia Alla Pizzanola, Springer chicken, and ice cream. The pizza app was amazing! I ate it slow because I wanted to enjoy every bite. For my entree, the chicken was cooked perfect, but it was admittedly a more bland flavor than I was expecting. I forget what the ice cream was, but that was also awesome. My wife also enjoyed her meal. Definitely open to trying this again. Despite the packed room, it was a great dinner and I strongly recommend for a date night. Based on some of the food I saw around me, I'm very excited to try more items on the menu. And next time, we will book a space in the front room or at the bar - far in advance.

Definitely a memorable dining experience. The four of us decided on the Chef's Table menu as recommended by the amazing staff. It was a wonderful family style dinner experience and the bartender was super friendly and made outstanding drinks to complement the delicious food. We shared a large variety of appetizers, four main dishes and a couple desserts and everything tasted so good at a very good price! All four of us were impressed with the meal and we tip our hats to the chef and the amazing staff at Perso!

Yet again another awesome experience at Perso. We came in to celebrate our anniversary and decided on the Chef's table option which is offered during weekdays. The service was incredible and the staff were all so friendly and patient. All of the food was to die for. We were served 4 appetizers, 2 entrees, and a dessert. Definitely do yourself a favor and check out Perso! a very unique dining experience in Louisville!

Fantastic! Came for the first time to celebrate a birthday and ordered the Chef's Table option, which was the perfect way to sample the menu. I've recommended to many friends since! This is a fairly small restaurant, so great intimate setting to try something new.

This restaurant was on my friend's list for a while. It used to be Scarlet's bakery which had closed a few years back. The space looks about the same but of course, looks more upscale. We had a reservation, but for a Tuesday night we didn't need one. A few groups here and there, but most tables weren't filled. We started off with some cocktails from the menu and then decided to do the prix fixe since it was a good deal. We both got the tuna crostini as the starter. Delicious and a nice crunch from the flatbread! Not heavy either! For entrees, my friend opted for the pasta while I got the branzino. Deliciously cooked with a nice crispiness! I also enjoyed the taste of the tomato sauce on my friend's pasta. For dessert, we got the fig streusel. It was kinda small which was perfect after already eating an appetizer and an entree. Great presentation! And not too sweet! The service was good. Our server was attentive and brought out our food in a timely way. She made sure to keep our glasses of water filled. It was a fun vibe! They played a lot of throw back music from the 80s through the 2000s so I enjoyed that a lot! Parking is parallel. I probably could've circled around to find a spot but I was in a rush and parked just a block away.

I walked in around 5:15pm on a monday night, with plans for a friend to join me around 5:30. The sign at the host station said to wait to be seated. So I waited. And waited. and waited... Folks walked in after me, waited for a bit and then sat themselves at the bar. But I did not want to sit at the bar, we wanted to sit at a table. The server seemed to be willfully ignoring me and avoiding my attempts at eye contact. The bartender was taking care of everyone at the bar as well as making drinks for the rest of the patrons too, he saw me eventually and was looking around for the server or (nonexistent?) host to help me out. The bartender ultimately told me that I could just seat myself wherever I wanted, so I did. There were maybe 3 table seated at this point, it was not that busy. Then it took yet another chunk of time (6 pages read in my book I never leave home without) before I got water and menus. I was frustrated but was looking forward to seeing my friend and was ready to make the most of it. All that said, I like the vibe of the space. The dark, cozy vibes. We came because we wanted cocktails and something to nosh on. And eventually we got that. We shared a flatebread and an Asian-inspired hushpuppy sort of situation. They were pretty tasty and nice to have with our cocktails. The cocktail list is longer than expected and with a lot of intriguing sounding offerings. The two I had were very tasty and delicious! I would maybe come back again and sit at the bar so a solo visit if I had a stretch of time and no rush. My overall memory of the visit is still about the over-long wait/being ignored for such a long time after entering.

I was able to score a visit recently on Derby Week, and that will be one of the highlights of Derby Week this year for me. We arrived shortly before our reservation time after hearing that our table was ready. I was seated at the bar, to be joined by my good friend a few minutes later. The cocktail menu sounded intriguing, and I started with an Oopsie Daisy and she sprung for Fighting Words. As we sipped our drinks, we perused the menu and decided on an array of mezze as our meal that night. Crispy cauliflower arrived first, followed shortly by tuna tartare, then whipped labneh and spring pea hummus. They even provided a gluten free pita option for the gluten sensitive in our party. From the second we walked in, it felt warm and welcoming, like being invited into someone's home for dinner. The space is intimate without feeling cramped, and we were lucky enough to grab a cozy window seat. It had that perfect hum of conversation where you feel the energy of the room but can still talk easily. Our waitstaff were incredible, thoughtful and genuinely kind in a way that made the whole night feel relaxed and personal. We started with an olive oil washed martini that was crisp, silky, and honestly just really good. A simple drink done beautifully. Then we decided to go all in and order the Shefa, Chef Noam's guided family style feast. You choose a main and then the kitchen takes you from there. Plates started arriving in waves and the table slowly filled with color and texture. The first taste included chamutzim pickles, fresh herbs and vegetables, matbucha, and labneh with za'atar. We added the tuna tartare, which was bright and fresh and such a nice contrast to the richness of the spreads. Everything invited you to tear into the warm pita and pass plates back and forth. The salatim followed with shawarma spiced chicken and crispy cauliflower, full of flavor but not heavy. It was the kind of food that makes you slow down because you don't want to miss anything. We shared a bottle of Chateau Musar Musar Jeune from Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, and it paired so beautifully with the warmth and spice of the meal. The star of the night was the lamb merguez with cucumber yogurt, dill, and pistachios, served alongside jeweled rice with pepitas and cranberry chutney. It was deeply spiced, comforting, and somehow both bold and cozy at the same time. It honestly felt like being wrapped in a hug. You could taste the care behind it. Dessert sealed it. Warm chocolate babka and coconut malabi with seasonal preserves. Sweet but balanced and the perfect way to end the evening. More than anything, what stood out was how personal the whole experience felt. Nothing about it felt trendy or forced. It felt rooted, intentional, and full of heart. You can sense there's a story and a family behind this food. If you're in Louisville, MeeshMeesh is truly special. Perfect for a celebration, a date night, or just a night where you want to sit at a table, share plates, and feel taken care of.
