Cured is a great restaurant in the downtown area. The food was incredible, the drinks were tasty, and the service was friendly. The ambiance is casual but nice. I was alone so I sat at the bar. The bar tender was friendly and attentive. I ordered a fat-washed old fashioned, and it was really good. Fo appetizer, I ordered a personal Cured sampler. The meat was amazing. For dinner, I ordered the Pasta All'Amatriciana, and it was really good as well. Cured is really good, and I will definitely return when visiting Louisville again. read more

Cured is a lovely, cozy place done in dark, moody colors. I went there on a date and had a very nice time. Started off with the Ham Empanadas (three house ham and cheese empanadas with aioli). These were just OK. They were fried and tasted too heavily of oil, but the filling was good. Now the Prosciutto Montaditos (toast topped with spreadable cheese and house cured ham, topped with honey) were another story, light and amazing and the prosciutto was fire. My entree was the Filet Mingon (8oz Black Angus filet served with chimichurri sauce and rosemary finishing salt) A very nice cut of meat. Service was attentive, but pro tip, try to get seated by a table of young, beautiful women, because our server gave them WAY more information and options than us Olds, which kind of sucked but also was kind of funny too. I have to admit, I didn't even know Cured existed until my wife announced that we were going there. We arrived right on time for our reservation with friends, and from the moment we walked in, I was impressed by the décor -- open, clean, and stylish, with clever uses of neon lights forming word art throughout the space. It was a great first impression. We were quickly seated, and our gracious server came by to take our drink orders. As I browsed the menu, the group decided to start with the Cured Charcuterie Board. Honestly, if we weren't such civilized, educated people, there might have been a few fork duels over the incredible assortment of meats, cheeses, and accompaniments laid out before us. It was that good. Once our primal instincts subsided, we moved on to selecting our main courses. I chose the Schnitzel, my wife went with the Smoked Pork Chop, and our friends ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. My schnitzel was fantastic -- crisp, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. My wife's pork chop was outstanding (and yes, I managed to steal a bite). Judging by the spotless plates around the table, everyone was just as pleased with their meals. Throughout the evening, our server remained attentive and friendly, adding to an already excellent dining experience. Cured has some of the best steaks in Louisville imo. I love the setting of the restaurant itself and everything we have tried across our two visits has been amazing. We split the dry aged ribeye and carbonara our first time. But during our most recent visit we got the prosciutto crudo salad which may be one of the best salad i've ever had. My wife got the filet and i got the normal ribeye. Steaks were cooked perfect and seasoned well a little rosemary salt didn't hurt either. Our server was super polite as well. Hands down the T-bone steak I got was the best steak I ever had. I been to every steak place in Louisville, I've had a $250 tomahawk steak in Nashville but their t-bone is insane. The service was 5 ! We were given detailed explanations on all the meats and cheeses on the charcuterie board we chose and our server was extremely kind and helpful. She always made sure our wine and waters were refilled! The ambience is fantastic and the restaurant itself truly beautiful! The charcuterie board we chose was good but I would have appreciated some nice baguette with it or some more crackers. In total we received three crackers each. We were so excited about trying out this beautiful space!! It did not live up to our expectations. 1. Nice list of handcrafted cocktails. 2. Charcuterie board was nice, but was brought and left at the table without any explanation - we had to ask after we heard part of a description from the table beside us. 3. Asked the waiter what he recommended- and went with his #1 pick - pork osso bucco. Listen, I am a meat lover. I was up for a delicious protein. First day of summer menu. What came to the table was a beautiful shank of pork. However, the skin, instead of crispy was Impenetrable. We were served a large bone that we had to fight for meat, and a mound of dry mashed potatoes. No sauce, no veggies, no streak knife. I was so disappointed I didn't eat. I literally left hungry. I wanted to be helpful with kind feedback on something they just rolled out that day. Our feedback was met with an "ok." No, "can I bring you a dessert, can I bring you anything else, what can do so you don't leave hungry." There are very few places on this app that I I don't anticipate revisiting. Delicious food and a cool atmosphere. In my opinion, Cured is already one of Louisville's best restaurants. I will admit, I didn't know what to expect before our Saturday night reservation at Cured. The website is actually somewhat misleading; it doesn't include all the food or bar options, and it left me wondering what type of restaurant Cured is trying to be. They seemed to brand themselves as part cured meats, part cocktail bar, part steakhouse, and part Spanish Tapas. Thankfully, now I can clarify: Cured delivers delicious meats and cocktails. That's the brand. While they offer other items, it's their meats, their cocktails, and their service that will keep you coming back. We started with cocktails. I had a delicious Manhattan. My friends were very happy with their old fashioned cocktails and margaritas. We ordered the Cured Charcuterie Platter for 4. It was large and included about 80% meat, 15% cheese, and 5% fruit & pickles. We thoroughly enjoyed all of it. The wine list is not high priced. But, the wines pair very well with the food on the menu. We had a bottle of the Sargon and everyone enjoyed it. We then shared a large and delicious Caprese Salad. The mozzarella cheese and the tomatoes were super fresh and tasty. We also shared the Cassuelette. It was a warm, thick white bean stew with pork, ham, chorizo, and chicken. One of the guests in our group called it his favorite dish of the night. We also split the 20 ounce Ribeye, which I would highly recommend. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and had a nice char on the outside. It was really good. We tried the crème brûlée and the chocolate ganache cake for dessert (it was, after all, a birthday dinner). Both were very good. I recommend Cured for any special dinner you may have. We went early on a Friday night. There were 3 people in my party. We ordered appetizers and drinks without a problem. Out of the three we ordered, I would recommended the ouso bucco empanadas. We noticed that there were 3 other tables in the whole restaurant. One of our entrees can to the table. As we waited over 10 minutes for the other two entrees, two other tables got their food before we did. At that point we decided to check out and leave. We have never been to a restaurant that couldn't handle 4 tables and deliver food out at the same time. Hell, I can time my meals out better at my own home. What a disappointment!! read more

We had dinner here Saturday night for my birthday. It's got a great feel and vibe. Upscale but not snooty. The charcuterie board was amazing. Our group of six all had plenty with the option labeled for four. But it was an appetizer for us. The main course for me was a tomahawk steak. I had never had one but always wanted to try it. It's not an inexpensive choice by any means but it was a special occasion. It was the best steak that I have ever tasted! Service was excellent. Pork chop was incredibly tough - even to cut into. Flavor profiles were good with a smoked sauce underneath. Not a tender piece of meat in the least bit. Just delicious. We have been several times and the food, drinks, and service are always top-notch. One of our favorite restaurants.

Throughly enjoyed my dinner here tonight! My husband and I had heard of it and had been wanting to try. The restaurant is on the smaller side so reservations are likely needed. My husband ordered their old-fashioned. He had first ordered their specialty old1fashioned and he was told they couldn't make it tonight(?). We ordered béchamel croquettes that were delicious. Crunchy on the outside, very soft and creamy on the inside with a hint of ham. We also ordered Something in the appetizer list that they didn't have. Afterwards we enjoyed our entrees. I had the beef osso buco. So tender and delicious with very little fat. It has a nice gravy to pour over it along with some creamy polenta (rather on the plain side). My husband had the carbonara. This was different than others we'd had. Very rich. Very cheesy. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The cheese was sharp and the sauce plentiful, which almost led to the richness being "too much". He was not quite able to finish. We declined dessert to save the calories! All in all a great meal. Minus a star for not having two items available from the menu. We had a great date night meal at CURED this past week. Definitely a romantic vibe. I was particularly impressed with the charcuterie appetizer, a cured meats-focused board with fig marmalade, cheeses, stuffed olives, and fruits. They had just gotten their bourbon in that day I was told, and the old fashioned was recommended from the cocktail list. It was okay. Our server and the restaurant staff were attentive and kind, and the small details in our meal and restaurant ambiance were delightful. The Osso Buco entree wasn't up to the quality standard I would have expected, feedback that the chef quickly acknowledged and offered a new entree, which I appreciated very much. I feel like this spot, once fully up and running, will easily achieve a 5-star rating. For now we'll go with a solid 4 as the menu appears to still be getting worked out. Really romantic atmosphere and very modern decor. The steak was delicious and so flavorful. I really enjoyed it. Great presentation too as they lit a rosemary branch on fire when it came out. The mashed potatoes on the other hand, were hard and dry and tasted like nothing. We should have sent them back because no one ate them after one taste. The oxtail presentation was pretty bad. I get that oxtail is a unique texture and can be hard to make pretty but it was thrown on a plate and looked incredibly unappetizing. The price point seems high as well considering the entrees don't come with any side dishes. Food quality, presentation, and value for money here need improvement. I think if I came back, I would just get drinks and appetizers. read more

We had a very disappointing visit to Cured over the weekend. When you are paying top dollar for a quality dinner and each steak was poorly cooked, it's very unsatisfactory. Each bite of the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina was a different temperature. We ordered Medium Rare, but the outside was well done and the inside was between rare and raw as it was barely cooked at all. I guess the chef either started with an ice cold steak, or had no idea what he was doing and just cooked it unevenly. We also ordered the Ribeye Steak Medium Rare. It came out as raw as can be. Even our server was appalled and we sent it back. The steak that came back was 50% fat and about 1/2 the size of the first steak that came to the table. Yes, I know ribeyes are a fatty cut but this was a disgrace. To top things off, only one of the pasta dishes were even offered. This was disappointing as we had wanted to try the Carbonara, but it wasn't even available. For what it's worth, we had 6pm reservations so it's not like this was late night. They were just unprepared. read more

They seemed a little short on staff on a Friday night and the front door is tucked to a side so it's hard for the staff to notice a walking in guest. We came here for brunch with my in-laws for my husband's birthday. First things first, this place is gorgeous. The deep green at the bar and the deep brown leather look flooring is just stunning. I want to preface this review by saying that we will be trying this restaurant again, just not for brunch. The service was OK but it was pretty clear that the end of brunch was near and the server was ready to leave. We all had water with a tea for me (bottled Pure Tea which I was not thrilled about) and my husband had a Diet Coke (again, with the can right at the table) and the presentation didn't match the setting. The brunch menu is very small and doesn't seem to be a big focus for the restaurant. Fair enough. A couple of us chose sandwiches which we all enjoyed but they came with standard crinkle cut fries. I really expected fresh cut fries for the price point so that was a disappointment. My niece had the ham empanadas and enjoyed those. My husband had the board for 2 and devoured it. Going to Cured is always something I look forward to. I have been here on date night, dinner with friends, family parties, you name it. It is my go to for a relaxed ambiance with warmth all over. I always request Susana, she makes the experience more amazing than it already is. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We love coming here! For drinks I recommend an old fashioned, it's their specialty. I stopped at Cured to try the Lychee martini. I have been to a couple of Louisville restaurants looking for a Lychee martini and Cured has been the only place that makes them. The restaurant is very small. I went on a Saturday night, and it was crowded. I had to wait to sit at the bar. The menu is very limited. I tried the Bechamel Croquettes. The croquettes were very good and the sauce that they drizzle on top makes it even better. If you plan on going, make reservations. read more

I had their take on the Manhattan and it was really good, my wife got the Lavender Gin & Tonic something I really don't care for but they did it nice and refreshing. I'd get that on a hot day! The ambiance is upscale casual hipster. The cure all their own meats so it's a little smoky in the room. We finished our cocktails and had a bottle of wine. All their wines on the menu are by the glass but you can get a bottle. Not a lot of information on the wines and a very limited availability. We shared the Bruschetta appetizer and for the price, it was a let down compared to everything else we had so far. I got the Cassoulet and it was a smaller sized portion and it was okay, not one I'd go back for. My wife got the Ossobuco and it was very good. Would definitely recommend that dish.
