Silvio's remains a great option for filling, indulgent Italian that you don't need to wait for a special occasion to eat. It's more approachable than fine dining but still refined a bit to feel a little fancy. And the food seems reliably delicious. Or at least that's the sense I got after visiting for the first time in many years recently. My friend and I were able to get a table, though the restaurant did seem pretty busy. I enjoyed a glass of wine from the menu that started the meal off right. And then I dug into the bolognese. This four-meat sauce is served in rigatoni. It's not fussy, just delicious. The ambiance was cozy enough that you could talk to your dinner mate without shouting but also not feel cramped. Silvio's might get overlooked, but it seems a solid option for an Italian meal.

The food here is amazing! Miraculously flavorful with every bite. The owner greeted us with a smile and kindly asked where we'd prefer to sit. Throughout the meal, both she and her husband checked in on us, adding a personal touch that made us feel more like family than customers. Our server Michelle was great too! She walked us through the menu and helped us decide what to eat

After reading about it in the Louisville Takeout Facebook group, we went to Silvio's for an early Valentine's Day dinner. We ordered a Caesar salad, eggplant parmesan, cheese lasagna with a meatball, and broccoli. The food arrived quickly, was flavorful, and had huge portions. However, our pasta dishes weren't very warm/hot. Our server was attentive and friendly and even offered to take our photo after dinner. It's a solid choice for Italian food.

I travel all over the county every week and this was the BEST chicken parm I have ever had! Food was incredible, atmosphere was great, and the staff is where this place really shines. The staff were very friendly and incredible- rare to find a restaurant with service like this.

Service was wonderful, we felt like we were part of the family as soon as we walked in the door! Portions were so large, we could've split everything. I totally recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable dining experience where you're stuffed full of delicious Italian food at the end of the night.

Well, maybe that's true because most restaurants fail and this one has been around for a while, but maybe it's because they're overcharging their customers instead of increasing their prices on the menu, and hoping the customers don't notice. I've never been so nickeled and dimed at a restaurant! I was so insulted that I handed his few dollar bills back to him and said I just wanted him to be transparent about what he was going to charge me, before he charged me! I asked for a Tilapia sandwich (menu price $8.95) and a Haddock sandwich combo (menu price $13.95 for the sandwich + cole slaw + fries). I asked if the sandwich came with anything on it, and he said no, but he could add pickle slices. He didn't tell me about an upcharge. I asked if I could substitute the fries in the combo for fried mushrooms. He said yes, but there would be a slight difference in price. I said that would be fine because the side items showed it was only a $0.45 difference in price (on the menu, french fries are $3.50 and fried mushrooms are $3.95). I asked if I could pay with credit card, and he said yes, but didn't mention a card fee. What I thought I would be charged: $8.95 + $13.95 + $0.45 = $23.35 + 6% tax = $24.71 total. Instead I was charged $30. When I asked him about it he said there was a $1 credit card fee that he had neglected to tell me about prior, and that instead of charging me for the difference between the price of the fries and mushrooms, he rang each item up separately instead of ringing it up as a combo (first of all, why would he do that??? and second of all, why wouldn't he tell me he was going to do that???). Then he told me he also charged me for the 5 skinny quarter-sized slices of bright green pickles you get from the jar. When I said, "you charged me for pickles?" He said, "of course I charged you for pickles!" So he charged me $8.95 tilapia sandwich + $9.95 haddock sandwich + $2.50 cole slaw + $3.95 mushrooms + $2.00 pickles (TWO DOLLARS FOR 5 SKINNY QUARTER SIZED PICKLE SLICES) + 6% tax + $1 credit card fee = $29.99 (AND OF COURSE HE DIDN'T GIVE ME THE PENNY NOR ASK IF I WANTED TO KEEP THE PENNY; HE KEPT THE PENNY FOR HIMSELF AND CHARGED ME THIRTY WHOLE DOLLARS FOR A $24.71 MEAL).Which isn't a big difference, but in this economy, adds up, and the LEAST they can do is be TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE GONNA CHARGE YOU. AND THEN WHEN YOU NOTICE THE DISCREPANCY AND KINDLY & CALMLY ASK IF THEY MADE A MISTAKE, THEY SHOULDN'T GET DEFENSIVE, RAISE THEIR VOICE AT YOU, AND THROW DOLLARS AT YOU IN FRONT OF A LINE OF CUSTOMERS. This was my first time here and I was excited to go back and try everything else. Instead, I'm never going back and I'm telling everyone I know.

First time visit here with friends who recommended it for good seafood…read more I selected an order of clam strips with slaw and hush puppies and was quite satisfied. Clams were tender and not chewy. Slaw and hush puppies were seasoned well and fresh. Counter ordering is easy and staff are friendly. Orders are called up and seating is available inside or outside. Conversation with table mates almost felt like the entire dining room was involved.

Looked on Yelp for a fish place while in Louisville and stumbled upon " The Fishery"…read more We were fairly close and I liked what reviews I read so we stopped by The Fishery. As we parked we noticed people coming in and going with several looking like carry outs. When we entered there was a big board with the menu items in nice sized print. Obviously being first time we had to digest the options. Meanwhile many carbon and picked up carry outs. The dinging area is small but quite adequate and during nice weather you can sit outside as well! The host/order taker was very helpful; her main choice by popularity was the double filet cod sandwich. She said that's what they sell the most of so we took one of those with side of fries for my wife. I spotted the catfish and asked about that. Another patron heard me and said it was definitely was good just not as big as the cod but still plentiful - so I went for it with cup calm chowder. She said mine came with 2 sides so gave me the fries and discounted my chowder to make it more economical; she looked out for us by adding some value. That also went a long way for us as seniors. We ordered a beer each, limited offering of beer but sufficed. We sat down and waited our number to be called. Meanwhile people kept coming in and picking up to go orders. We did strike up conversations with other patrons about our age and they said stopping here is a routine Friday stop. We were impressed with the through put of customers while we were there. Didn't take long for our number to be called. Picked up the order; everything was fresh and hot, all types of condiments were present. My catfish was very tasty, most like pond raised, but had a very good taste. The filet was a nice portion, it made 2 sandwiches for me plus the chowder filled me up. My wife's cod was 2 nicely portioned filets. 1 filled her up so some take home. Fries were good as well, hot and crispy. Obviously we are real close to this location but when back in Louisville and looking for fish/seafood and other items as well; we while be back. Staff and owner were also nice and checked in with everyone dining in. Definitely try this place.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

This place is quaint, nice location (on a corner ) decent seating, not a big outdoor dining area, the bar is long and has the memories of the old day saloon. Now the food; terribly good! Menu isn't extensive but good items and variety that will satisfy anyone's appetite. It was Father's Day but as soon as it opened they were quickly filled with patrons and people kept coming; even waiting to get in. The fries in duck fat were awesome. Since so many baskets of fries like this for a long time. The smoked wings are great, meaty and savory. I had the pork belly tacos; my only disappointment was you only get 2 per order. The fine combination of ingredients were splendid and the pork belly so tender. My wife had the bbq pork sandwich on pretzel bun. Very good tasting and this was with no bbq sauce on it. If you're in the area, do yourself a a favor and stop in. I can't wait to go back ( as we live in southern Indiana) so might be a bit but definitely want to try a few other items.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.
