My first time trying, walking into the cafe the music is not loud and over powering, plenty of seating options, FULL BAR!! Especially for the bourbon enthusiasts, over 200 bourbons av They have a weekly newsletter with specials and Whiskey Wednesdays $5 old fashions. I like the location plenty of sidewalks to take an evening stroll. Staff is very professional. Lunch menu and hours dinner menu hours are posted.

This time At Uptown, we indulged in divine stuffed mushrooms drenched in a luscious brown sauce followed by a bow tie salmon pasta that had some of the best salmon I've ever tasted in the Midwest. The classic ambiance provided a comfortable and picturesque view of the street. Their well-curated bar selection and perfectly balanced old fashioned cocktail were a treat for the senses. This culinary haven left us feeling content as usual, our taste buds delighted and our spirits uplifted in a way that has us wondering why we don't frequent here more often.

First time I have ever been there. First they told me the ice machine wasn't working so I got water that I wished was colder. Halfway during the lunch we got 1 cup of ice. The fried green tomatoes were no big deal. I've had better. The onion rings were mediocre. The crab dip was good but kind of oily. Besides the oiliness it was good. The waiter said the crab dip was oily and salty. I didn't taste the saltiness but it was oily. The hot brown was good but a little oily as well. The hamburger was told to me it was very juicy and delicious. The menu for brunch is limited.

We recently tried Uptown Cafe after living in the neighborhood awhile and not having tried them. In a Friday evening, the average demographic was white 60+. That being said, the cocktails here were WASPy strong and the menu features fresh ingredients and had a worldliness that was unique to the area. The service was also impeccable - and the valet parking is definitely a unique trait that people from outside the highlands should appreciate .

Crab Dip. Very good.

Another satisfying dinner at the Uptown. Quiet, comfortable, great Bardstown Road location. Food rich and satisfying without being too salty. The bottle of wine we selected (1/2 off bottles on Monday) wasn't available but was substituted with a very nice one. Server Ashley was very pleasant and smooth.

A nice laye lunxh with a childhood friend and my husband. It was after the lunch hour, we werte greeted and seated immediately by rhe bartender at a nice table in the window. Great service, fresh bread brought to the table with butter, the dark bread was very good, soft and tasty. Hubby had the clam chowder and absolutely loved it. My feiend had the gumbo and said she would come back just for that. She also had the lunch special, a grilled chicken sandwich served with chips and ate the entire sandwich so obviously it was good. I had the chicken pastry puff, that was a puff with chicken in a cream sauce, brocolli, tomatoes and mushrooms layered between the puff. I requested no mushroom, but when it came the mushrooms were in the dish, but the server took it back and had the kitchen make another one. That was my only complaint, that my food came out much later than the others. Nice atmosphere, easy to access on Bardstown road with street parking. They also have outdoor seating. It is a loyisville staple, i would recommend. Nice bar and several dinning areas

The Uptown Cafe is just a perfect neighborhood restaurant that you visit all the time. I do confess that one week I had dinner every night they were open when my floors were being renovated. The menu is very comprehensive and the food is always consistent. The Update Cafe is one of the best dining values in the city. The Uptown Cafe has a very large bar, which is first come first serve. When the weather is nice, the patio is open. The patio is located on Duker which makes it comfortable to sit outside without all the traffic noise from Bardstown road. Just past the bar you will find the host station where you can choose to sit in the dining room with table service. Each meal starts with house made bread service. They have two daily soup selections in addition to the shrimp bisque. The shrimp bisque is a must try! For the appetizers the tower of onion rings are delicious. I think my favorite is the Stuffed Mushroom Caps, which has a brandy cream sauce. They have about five small plates that change every six or so weeks, which are always creative and taste great! There are so great entrees that I find myself rotating through the menu. When I want to treat myself to a rich meal, I go for the Jaegerschnitzel. The mash potatoes are a treat unto themselves! They have great pasta dishes and you can even get half orders of pasta. They have really good linguine and meatballs, but I ask to hold the vegetables. There are great basa fish tacos and I like mine with french fries. My ultimate comfort entree is the linguine with sesame chicken. Some days you want nothing more than a burger with fries. They have daily specials for dinner. When I'm being more healthy, I go for the spinach salad with grilled salmon. The Uptown Cafe is known for some of the best desserts in the city! If cheesecake is your thing, be sure to check on the daily selection and be prepared for a slice of heaven!

Go there because they have a really nice outside seating area where you can watch the comings and goings on Bardstown road.Stay there because Monday nights are half-price bottles of wine and they have a decent selection. Had not been there since the pandemic closed everything down and they changed owners, but they have not missed a beat. It's great it's good food and a wonderful place to hang out!

Dipped in on a Monday night without a reservation, although I see you can reserve on Open Table. Say at the bar with a friend for a light dinner and half-price wine bottle shared. The complimentary bread basket was nice, as we had waited to long to eat.we each got a yummy bowl of beef burgundy (broth based) soup. It was a little salty, but delicious to eat with the bread & butter. We split a Mixed Baby Greens & Fruit Salad ($11) & added grilled Salmon ($8). It was an amazing salad with apples, almonds & a giant wedge of Brie cheese! The vinaigrette dressing was something amazing as well. Plenty of food for a light dinner. Paired with a nice bottle of Quilt Cabernet, I'll say I'll be back for that! I always check the rest room to and all was in good order. Oh, and Bridgette at the bar was attentive and fun to talk with. See you again soon, Uptown!

My first visit to Uptown Cafe. When my best friend suggested it for dinner, I was excited to go for the variety on the menu. I also learned they take reservations on Open Table, which was easy and allowed us to be seated right away. We were places by the window and could enjoy the Highlands vibe. Upon sitting down the service was immediate - basket of bread, waters, servers saying hello. It wavered from there, a bit slower and some watching for our server to flag her for the check. I ordered the smoked gouda queso. It was a large portion, enough for 4 people so a lot was wasted. It was okay but the texture was off, like the team didn't understand the items mixed wouldn't melt and mesh together. It reminded me of the time my husband mixed together a bunch of random cheeses to make me queso. I wouldn't recommend ordering. The entrees offered options, from meats to seafood and salads. I wasn't excited by several of the side included with the main dish so I opted for a burger. It was fine, and I appreciated the English Muffin instead of heavy bun. Actually a thick bun would've overtaken the size of the burger. My favorite thing? The house chips! I should've asked for those to go! Also ordered an Old Fashioned. A bit strong but bearable. Like the rest of the meal, fine but nothing to make you say out loud "that is so good!" I noticed my friend left behind quite a bit of his salmon bow tie pasta too. Nice space, bigger than you realize, and street parking. Their parking lot is used for valet only. Some families but primarily older clientele. Higher priced dinner options, nice cocktail and bourbon selection. This wouldn't be a top recommendation to a friend having dinner in the area.

(I hate when things come out too fast). It's a NY style atmosphere with lots of natural light in the front from windows and darker in the back. There is also outdoor seating I have yet to check out cause it's been too hot.

There are also picnic tables out front. You get a faint whiff of the grill/smoker upon entering. Kylie was our bartender and she was fabulous - knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all of our questions with patience. Wife ordered a mango margarita and doesn't like a lot of tequila, so Kylie went half and gave her a shot on the side in case she wanted to add more. It was wonderful. I had a couple of beers. We started with the fried mushrooms, which aren't what you would expect. It's two large portobellos cut into chunks, battered, fried, and served with sun-dried tomato mayo. They were great. I then ordered a duck taco, brisket taco, and a side of Grippo Fries with smoked mayo. I'd never tried duck but that taco was smack-a-lackin'. The brisket taco was also good, and the fries were fantastic - sweet and spicy, fresh cut, and crispy. Wife ordered a pork belly slider and truffle fries. She enjoyed the slider but didn't care for the fries - just not her thing. The portions here are large. A side of fries will feed three people. We took a hefty portion of them home, as well as some of the mushrooms. We could've sat there at the bar and spent 3 hours socializing and enjoying a smattering of cocktails - love the setting. Look forward to going back and trying one of the burgers at some point.

I was going to a UofL women's basketball game and I FINALLY was able to make it here. I went a little overboard on the food, but everything sounded so good! I really loved the pork belly slider and the duck tacos. Mac and cheese balls always slap. Then there are the famous duck fat fries. The portion is substantial, I was thrilled with that. Flavor wise they did not change my life like I was hoping they would. Still ate them all. The locale is super unassuming from the street, but inside it is really cool, divey, and broody. The staff was super sweet and helped me get in and out efficiently so I could make it to the game. Would absolutely recommend, would absolutely come back, and would absolutely bring friends here.

Every course was beautifully executed, with standout dishes throughout the evening--especially the duck confit, which was absolutely incredible. The wine pairings were thoughtfully selected and complemented each course beautifully. The service was also top-notch--attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced throughout the evening. Halibut and PEI mussels were incredible. Kalbi braised short ribs were incredible. Dining room is small, open and dim, maybe 20 tables. Music is contemporary and nice, kept at a volume that allows easy, quiet conversation. Service is very professional and respectful but not, like, "elite" -- we're still in Louisville. Cost is very high by Louisville standards at $125/person, but I'd say worth it for a 5-course prix fixe menu: an amuse-bouche, 2 seafood courses, a pasta course, a meat entree, and a dessert. I'd recommend skipping the wine pairing and just ordering your own drink(s), the pairing's a $65 add-on and didn't deepen the flavor experience for me. I also think the smoky bourbon dessert is made more for the 'Gram but it's fine, the lemon mochi cake was better. Also read the bill, even tho you'll wanna be classy and act rich when it comes. I think they add gratuity automatically to all bills (they did to ours as a table of 2) -- and that's fine, I actually appreciated it, just check so you don't accidentally double-tip (or do, but do so knowingly). Overall 610 is a lovely, quietly-chic restaurant at the top of the Louisville dining scene, leaning much harder on quality dishes prepared extremely well than on flashiness or gimmicks to set itself apart. I look forward to going back.
