Erika listened to my problem from a previous eye doctor. I then spoke to someone who books appointments and made me aware that I have to pay $75 because I was charged an actual appointment even though the last place was unsuccessful of getting a prescription for my daughter. Anyway, the doctor looks at the paperwork and says "Not sure why we're doing this appointment." Right in front of me, I kept my cool as I wanted a new prescription for her. We were back in the exam room, and I'm trying to explain to the doctor (as I was trying to address his rude comment) why I scheduled this appointment. While I was talking my daughter was answering the questions he quickly cut me off so he could hear her answers. Needless to say he's very rude, the greetings are off-putting and not much communication only between the staff. Erika then proceeded to do measurements for my daughter's new glasses. I called the next day to see if I could order another pair of glasses for her and was told I was not able to with my insurance. Which in the past I was able to buy 1 get 2 free but that might have been that location. I will not go back!

They gave me a thorough examination and Dr. Savitt took the time to explain very well the reasons for some of my symptoms. I did not feel rushed or made to feel that my concerns were not important. He even took the time to re-check the vision tests to make sure. Gina helped me find glasses and another tech came over to help me make a decision on which classes looked best! Why do I always go to pick out glasses by myself? So they really helped me decide. Gina also was very thorough- making sure of the fit of the lens on my eyes. I just think she was very professional, and again, she did not rush me and was very nice to work with! I can't wait for my glasses to come in! So, I picked out a pair, he measured me and seriously within 15 minutes I was done. They called 3 days later to tell me my glasses were ready. I think I bought four frames here already over the last few years, and I've been pretty impressed with all of them. Staff is friendly and seemed knowledgeable. The warranty on Walmarts frames is one year and twice I've had to take the frames back and they replaced it no questions. They may notify you that your glasses are ready for pick-up and charge you the full amount before they connect with the insurance company. You could end up thinking that if they get paid by the insurance company after you pay the full amount, that you were not reimbursed for the overpayment. I think there is a problem with how they communicate. It is advisable to be a little bit vigilant and on guard here as the front desk people that you encounter are not very reassuring regarding how the insurance process is working with them and you and they are not very good with people questioning them.

Today I had my eye appt. Where is spent just shy of $1000 to get my updated contact prescription,…read moreand a years worth of contacts. During my exam (which was very good and thorough, Hartman does a great job) I asked for my pupillary distance so that I could order my glasses online, and my doctor said that I could get my PD taken when checking out up front. I go to check out and ask for my PD, when they tell me that they aren't allowed to give that out. I thought they were joking at first, but they really refused to give me my own medical information. Obviously so that I'm forced to buy glasses through them, which I refuse to do. It appears that if I'm not buying my glasses through them, Clarkson eye care would rather have me get an unreliable measurement on my own. Very disappointed by this. I just want to order a cheap pair of glasses for when contacts aren't an option. If I can help it, I will NOT be returning to Clarkson eye care, as I refuse to support a business that is clearly not in my best interest. You'd think after spending $1000 they would be willing to give me my PD. Hell, before today, I would've thought withholding my medical information such as my PD would be ILLEGAL. screw you Clarkson, you ruined my day.
