They may notify you that your glasses are ready for pick-up and charge you the full amount before they connect with the insurance company. You could end up thinking that if they get paid by the insurance company after you pay the full amount, that you were not reimbursed for the overpayment. I think there is a problem with how they communicate. It is advisable to be a little bit vigilant and on guard here as the front desk people that you encounter are not very reassuring regarding how the insurance process is working with them and you and they are not very good with people questioning them.

So, I returned the original pair for a full $535 refund and will get a pair of glasses elsewhere. The manager didn't blink, she didn't care, didn't try to keep me as a new customer and I walked out happy. I liked the doctor and support staff, but I'm always a bit suspect when the retail optician office sell glasses is inside the eye doctor's office. While I was talking my daughter was answering the questions he quickly cut me off so he could hear her answers. Needless to say he's very rude, the greetings are off-putting and not much communication only between the staff. Erika then proceeded to do measurements for my daughter's new glasses. I called the next day to see if I could order another pair of glasses for her and was told I was not able to with my insurance.
