I would give a negative but I can't.. we took our car there for a new ignition switch and they wanted to charge us $450 when they found out we were going to a cheaper place they tore the inside of our car out the top of the steering column, the console, the glove box and wouldn't put it back together again. They even caused more damage. When I tried to get Jeff to make it right and put everything back the way it was when it was brought it he wouldn't commit to anything and when I was up there threatened to have me removed and when I called would hang up on me. read more

I've use Perkins since its close to my house. Small repairs and vehicle inspections. As of today, they still don't do motorcycle inspections. I'm only giving 4 stars because of my last visit, the gentleman behind the counter made me feel like I was bothering him when asking for prices of tires. He was probably just having a bad day. The mechanics are great. They have given me great service when I need a one-off size Allen Wrench or something to tighten up a bolt on the motorcycle, etc. read more

I agree with other reviewers....BE WARNED if you gamble with Perkins Automotive. 7 years ago, had a fan motor go out on a Jeep. The part and work should have been under warranty, but they charged me 3 times in the course of year to fix it before I got fed up and took my business elsewhere. I swore I'd never go back. 2 weeks ago, I needed a quick vehicle inspection and "stangely" they were the only ones in town that had a schedule free enough that I could just come straight in. After an hour of sitting in their waiting room, they came back in to let me know they drive shaft broke while they were backing it out of the their garage. Guess who got to pay $1000 to replace a simple drive shaft?!?! When driving it home, I noticed a strange smell that I first thought was just some excess grease or oil burning off due to the work. It is a spare car for me, so I didn't drive it again until the weekend. That Saturday, the scent was stronger and I realized it was fresh gear oil leaking out of the area they just worked on. The car had never leaked and this was a BIG leak right at the area of the seal. I brought it back in on Monday, and they told me that I would have to pay for 3 hours of service "just to find out where the leak was coming from" when it was very obvious. Knowing their background of shadiness....I had asked to look under the car as soon as they put it on the lift. The manager made it clear they wouldn't stand behind nor warranty any of the shady work they'd done. At that point, I let them know I'd made a BIG mistake taking my vehicle to them and would take my business elsewhere and be sure that others do the same! AND MIND YOU, they were the ones driving when the drive shaft broke in the first place! read more

New to the area but so happy to find a family owned business to do business with....great service!

My family use to be loyal Perkins customers. We would never shop around and paid whatever they told us for repairs because we trusted them. We knew the employees by name and then some of the employees started quitting. We found out the management started getting shady and began to take our business elsewhere. We also heard from friends that they had some issues with Perkins, as well. After installing a part and charging them for it, they found out it was under warranty and confronted the manager and he wouldn't refund the money. We just recently had a fuel pump go out in our vehicle and our new automotive shop only charged us $400. In 2008, we went to Perkins and they charged us $1100 for the fuel pump in the same vehicle. It's extremely disappointing to hear about the quality of service at Perkins now, and we're so happy we found a shop that strives for excellent customer satisfaction. read more

If you want your car messed up more than it already is and get disrespected by the employees/owner/manager at Perkins automotive in raymore mo 64083 take your car to them. If you want your car fixed correctly with no problems at all and get treated with respect take your car somewhere else. I went to Perkins automotive to get a simple thing done drain my front tank on my 1996 Ford F-150 and make sure there wasn't fuel wasn't getting pulled from the back tank to the front they didn't do that instead unhooked the vent tub never hooked it back up so pretty much charged me $175 to do nothing then tried charging me again to fix what they broke so called the owner of the store and he was a jerk no respect not sure how he is even able to run a business with as much disrespect he gave to me.... make sure you read these reviews before you get taken advantage of by these fools... what would make raymore better is if they close there doors and never open again... read more

Took my car in for service, because the check engine light came on. When I went to pick up my car it was being test driven by a mechanic. I received a call earlier that my car was ready.Waited for shuttle service to pick me up for 30 minutes, I had to call back to remind them to pick me up. When I arrived at the auto center I paid my bill ready to pick up my car, I was told the mechanic was test driving my car, when I took my car in for service my corner lights where attach to the vehicle, now one is missing, check your vehicle before and after also take a picture when you arrive at the auto center, JUST HARD TO FIND GOOD SERVICE THESE DAYS ! check engine light still on ! read more
