I ordered the turkey and dressing meal and they fried the turkey breast slices on the grill they were like eating beef jerky. Who fries turkey. The dressing was all dried as if it had been made days ago. The gravy for my mashed potatoe was as thick as pudding, I held the gravy container upside down and it stayed in the container. Also forgot my canberry sauce. My husband ordered the fish and chips with a side of shrimp they were both over cooked in the oil and burnt and dried. Also order a slice of pie and paid around $5.00 when I opened the container I could not believe the size, they have made the slices even smaller I got screwed on the pie. Terrible service. They just don't care. Apathy is the best way to describe the wait staff and manager. Edin was our waiter. I told him no tomato since I was allergic. Food came with tomato. I requested napkins when he dropped off the food. Edin dropped off the food and disappeared for 20 minutes. He never returned. We asked the hostess to refill drinks. We took our pie to go and kindly explained the neglect to the acting manager. I wouldn't eat here again. The place appeared slow and not busy. There is also a bakery with oversized muffins and deserts. The service is terrible. No upfront to acknowledge guests, slow seating, slow beverage service, slow order taking, slow meal production. The only thing that came fast was the bill. And, of course, you can't pay at the table - you have to walk the bill to the front lobby and pay there. Because, why make things easy for guests. Did you know that you can pretty much ask for anything be made to your liking? I went here for breakfast/brunch with my mom and her friend the other day. I noticed that there was a veggie omelet, but the veggies offered were onions and green peppers. I know according to their menu, they have spinach, broccoli, asparagus, and many other veggies. No granola and yogurt, and no cereal except on a kids menu maybe, we didn't have one of those. My mom's friend told me that I can order whatever I wanted, and they should be able to accommodate, one time she just wanted 1 Egg. And so she ordered 1 Egg. I thought that was an interesting turn of events, so I looked over the menu and decided on what I wanted that was offered, regardless of where it was offered. I ordered a Veggie Omelet, with Cheddar Cheese, Broccoli, Spinach, and Green Peppers. I have to say it was one of the prettiest sites I had seen as far as breakfast goes. My mother ordered the 55 plus omelet and had my side of hash browns and toast, since I didn't want any of that extra stuff that comes with a regular omelet order. Overall the waitress, Kelly was very nice and not to helicopter-ish, she did give us a few tips as to let her know when we were ready, so she isn't a bother, which was really nice. Usually waiters either visit your table to often or not enough. This way was helpful to both parties. The bathrooms were clean but a little small. I would definitely come here again if it is still open next time I'm in St Cloud and if I'm going out for breakfast. I believe a lot of Perkins are closing around Minnesota, why, I don't know. I used to frequent this Perkins weekly. We stopped going here because of the smoke odor. They allowed smoking up until the Minnesota ban. Then they had a fire. The restaurant was closed for months. It's been remodeled and recently re-opened. It's much better than it used to be. You'll find a good, freshly prepared breakfast here. I'm not a fan of their non-breakfast food, but if you're looking for an omelette or pancakes, you know they'll be prepared fresh and not frozen. They also have great muffins, cookies, and pies. This is a decent place for meeting friends or family. They have a lot of space and the restaurant is seldom full. read more

We are from the West Coast and have never heard of or been to Perkins before. But I wanted breakfast on a Friday night and it was the only option we could find that served all day breakfast. This place was a crap shoot from start to finish. First thing we walk into is the host standing behind the counter. We wait, no problem. Eventually he walks up to the menu's doesn't even look at us and just say's "two?". Then takes us to our table. He seemed annoyed at our presence. Okay, whatever. Then the waitress comes. She has a serious case of resting bitch face and also seems irritated we are there. She takes our order and then we never see her again for 20 minutes. We needed refills, but no one came by. We were in a corner by ourselves and man did they make us feel like it. She finally brings us our food and asks us what we were drinking for refills.. She comes back with completely different drinks then what we told her. Now let's start with the food. My order was cold and not even made right. I am not talking like I had a special request and they didn't do it right. I am talking it wasn't even made right from what was described on the menu... How do you mess up your own menu item?!! I asked for eggs over medium, my eggs were both broken and dry. There was cheese on the top, the food was so cold it didn't melt. It was gross.. Pancakes were good though. The other person I went with asked for no tomatoes on his burger, Got them anyways. Fries were cold It was like no one at this restaurant gave a crap and you could tell they were just doing things half-ass'd. The waitress finally comes back to ask us about our check. Now she decides to smile and be chipper.We go up to the counter to pay, the host is there, the entire time we were paying he did not look up at us once. You can tell they all hate their jobs. Do not go there on a Sunday night. Myself, with my mom, dad, and sister went there and it looked like a dump. Plates were on the tables from who knows how long and there were just only a few tables that were clean and it was not busy at all. When we were seated and got our drinks, we didn't decide right away what we wanted to eat and asked for a few minutes to decide. Few minutes became more like 30 minutes. And what was the waiters and waitresses doing? One was on his phone. While the others were chatting. We had enough and walked out pretty much. I'm here today at 11:45 and the place is packed. I almost didn't walk in thinking there would be a line. The only reason I can think of for this place being 2 stars is that the clientele here appear to fall into two categories - "seasoned" individuals who probably don't have cell phones more less use Yelp and parents with young children who probably don't have the time to look at Yelp. This place was an absolute dump, even for a Perkins restaurant. I had a late lunch here with my brother and girlfriend as she's from out of state and had never been to a Perkins before. What an introduction! Our server was rude. She'd stop listening to us as soon as we read to her what was on the menu so asking for things like sweetener or a new bottle of ketchup was apparently too much of a bother for her to smile about. The food took forever to get to us and considering we were one of only about a dozen other tables occupied, I can't see how that can be caused by anything but laziness. I've eaten at many Perkins restaurants over the years (who hasn't?), including this one. Overall, they do a good job of offering comfort food and providing decent service. However, our experience yesterday changed my entire perception of this chain. In spite of the restaurant being fairly empty, it took about 30 minutes to deliver our food after we ordered, with no contact from our waitress after the first 5-10 minutes. With it being a holiday and possibly unexpectedly understaffed, we could overlook the slow service, though it would have been easier to if the waitress had shown up to explain or apologize. But that wasn't all: I ordered the My Chick-adilla from their "fit" menu, only to have it come in a puddle of grease, including the spinach being drenched in it. I picked out the grilled chicken pieces (also drenched), but couldn't handle any more of it. To make things worse, all of the glasses were covered with residue/scum on the inside. I at first thought that it was scratches on the plp0adtic, but when I rubbed my napkin on it, most of it came off. To her credit, manager did offer to write off $6.00 of the $9.00 cost. We sat down at 11:25 right away by the hostess and didn't have anyone come ask us for drinks until we asked the server in our area TWICE. By the time we got our drinks, it was 11:50. She then wanted to walk away without taking our food order until we stopped her to place our order. We got our food at 12:25; an hour after we were seated. Three of the four adult meals were cold and had clearly been sitting some in the kitchen area for some time. My husband and I went Saturday, February 29, 2020 for dinner at about 7pm. The gentleman greeting was very nice. First thing I do is visit the restroom. It was just ok. The waitress and busboy were very unkept. Both of them had filthy aprons on and not very appealing to order from our waitress. So I we ordered our meal. The waiting time was fair. As we were eating the busy boy had the whole floor to vacuum with his portable broom. But he decided to vacuum in front of and under our table while we were eating. Me and a friend stopped for a delicious dinner at Perkins. I've always loved Perkins since I was a kid but this time really changed my perspective. We ordered a sample of 3 appetizers. One of the appetizers was drenched in so oil so bad all you could taste was the oil making the fried pickles very soggy and unpleasant to eat. Next we got our meals. My friend found a black hair in her second bite of pasta. They offered to remake her food and also offered her a slice of pie while she was waiting. As I was putting my food in my to-go box, I had found a black hair underneath my fries as well. When we brought it up to the manager, it was almost like she didn't believe that the both of us had found hair on our plates of food. She offered to remake my food too. By that time, we had been there for over an hour and we were just fed up. We found it rude how their only accommodation they wanted to make was to remake our food. That or she said she could take our food and take the meals off our bill. Not okay. We had barely eaten any of our entrees in the first place because we were full from the apps.
