Slow service. No other guests waiting, but it took us awhile to get seated. Our table could have been cleaned better. Still had leftover crumbs on our booth and table. Since Perkins is right next door, I decided to eat here. 1 waitress said the someone will be with you in a moment. A few seconds later, it happened. 8-) The place is pretty clean, which was a surprise since its into the dinner hour. I had the Country Fried steak with real mashed potatoes and a Garden salad with Blue Cheese dressing.. And, Lemon Meringue pie for dessert. While the steak was a bit crisper than I would have liked. For my meal, I had the build your own breakfast deal, which is what I would usually get from this type of restaurant. It was by no means bad, but I do prefer other local restaurants in terms of food quality. The service was mediocre, but our waitress was nice and caring towards the younger member of my party. We stopped for breakfast here a few times while in Rapid City and once for lunch, each time the service was friendly and efficient and the food was exactly what I'd expect from a basic, old fashioned diner. Good, basic food and inexpensive pricing. Someone here mentioned that they thought the pricing was too high. Really? I'm not aware of any restaurant, anywhere that is less expensive except maybe the dollar menu at McDonalds. This is a very old school diner with an old school clientele (me included) and an old school wait staff. Think Denny's in the 80's but with white hair. We have Perkins here in the Seattle area though I've never been to one. After this positive 3 in a row experience I'll be trying out ours. read more

food good, servers wearing masks on chins or even under chins. Only one employee/server in the whole place, a young man was wearing his mask properly the others all at least had them down off of their noses, some didn't even cover their mouths. the salt and pepper shakers were nasty. Service was great but for the sloppy or none existent masks. If you're not going to wear them properly anyway leaving them to hang on your ears isn't doing anything to protect others or yourself. below, I think if they aren't going to do the mask thing it might not be good or appropriate no matter how good the food and service is otherwise. read more

Was there yesterday with my mom and dad. Unfortunately, they were out of salmon and I thought that was unusual for a chain restaurant to be out of salmon. They took a long time to bring out salads, and right after bringing the salads, the main course shows up, which I thought seemed pretty odd. Food quality and service at this location provided for my $55 dinner with a companion yesterday was awful. Staff needs remedial training, for they were not welcoming from beginning to end. Only eight tables besides ours were occupied; so they were not overwhelmed with customers. While my pancakes arrived hot, the side of kielbasa and sausages was stone cold and had to be returned for warming. One of my eggs over easy was delivered broken. Neither the cook, manager, nor server should have brought these to me. What nerve! We both ordered pie for dessert, but my companion's was served many long minutes after mine. All in all, staff here seems to be uncaring about service and quality of food brought to tables. Staff here also needs training on how to accommodate customers with disabilities. At checkout the manager seemed ignorant of the fact that the counter was too high for me to sign anything. Plus, it was wheelchair inaccessible. I was forced to go back to my table for an accessible writing surface. The manager was so oblivious to his inaccessible checkout station that he didn't even offer a clipboard for me to use. Being a server I know what it's like being busy so for that I am understanding. I sat down and the server came up to me right away. Unfortunately that was the best part. I ordered and waited awhile since it was a busy Sunday morning. The table that got sat and ordered after me received their food first. I ordered crispy hash browns with cheese, they were not crispy nor had cheese so I sent them back. They came out and they weren't crispy they just threw cheese on them. Then the strawberry croissant that I ordered was still raw. The manager was very unpleasant didn't apologize wasn't friendly toward me. This is the worst experience I've had here. Being so early, we were one of 3 groups during that time so we didn't have much of a wait for our food. The menu made everything look so delicious and it was hard to decide on what to eat. To be honest, I didn't think it was expensive at all like the other comment mentioned. Things seemed to be fairly price since the portions were pretty good. The food was good as well, the only reason why this place got 3/5 stars is because it's a lot more oily/greasy than what we're used to and right when I finished my meal I was already feeling a bit nauseous. The feeling stayed with me the entire day and actually I'm still a bit uneasy feeling now. If you're used to a lot of greasy food then it'll be just fine for you.
