A group of us went here for dinner after our event in the area, and this was the best choice we made hands-down! The spot was further down Main Street, but it was worth a walk. Inside has a nice rustic pub feel. There were television screens around, but not too distracting if you are not interested in watching TV. My group ordered drinks and we all loved what we got. Everything that we had was delicious! I personally had the mango chicken, which was different but really good. The folks who got the hummus plate and the wings really enjoyed it and were full from those app items. The service was good overall, though our server was a little slow and getting us some of the items we needed. All in all I would recommend this place if you're in the area because it was a nice vibe and the food is really good.

Looking for lunch in rapid city? Look no further! Really cool, open, Dive bar feel. Waitress was really friendly. I had the mango chicken and the chicken was juicy and omg you need to try their potato salad! It's so good it has a mustard in it and really brings out the flavor!

Cons: It took an incredibly long time to get served. They were out of the first three beers I asked for. There was much confusion on our bill but some of that is because we moved from outside to in due to rain. An additional order of chips and salsa was initially on the bill. Pros: The waitress took off the added chips and the ones we ordered. I appreciated that. She was very nice and friendly. The food was very good. I like that soup was considered a regular side.

I hadn't eaten all day and decided to try Murphy's out. My waitress was very nice and attentive. The niceness must be a South Dakota thing, because everywhere I went, everyone was so nice! I had a burger and fries (I think it was the Popper burger). It was good and hit the spot.

Our waitresses was a rockstar!! Right away she brought our dog water. She paced her visits to the table perfectly! She allowed us just the right amount of time to have our cocktail and appetizer before coming back to take our dinner order! She was so nice. She shared tidbits about the town and the tourist season. It was great to talk with her.! The food was so delicious ! The appetizer was a South Dakota standard... Chislic. My husband had the shepherds pie with Liam and I had the buffalo meatloaf sandwich. Both were so good.!!! Everything is fresh and made the order. No prepackaged or frozen food whatsoever. We sat out on the patio because we had our dog with us Ambience was so nice. The weather was perfect. There was a light breeze. The sun had gone over and so it wasn't too hot. Too bad we won't be back in Rapid City because this place was amazing and I would love to be there again sometime.

Recommend for a great casual dinner with lots of great food & drink choices! Prices were fair, service was great, place was very big & lots of seating, (outdoor seating too I believe) & place was decently clean. Food came out quick, and was delicious! I didn't want protein, and ordered the Salmon salad without the salmon and it was great! My husband got the Brie burger, he wishes there was more Brie, and maybe melted Brie a little, and way more grilled onions, and add a aioli sauce or something on it. We got parking in the meters right out front!

Great place to eat downtown Rapid City. I was surprised at the size of this location. With a large bar in the middle of the room surrounded by tables and booths, along with outdoor seating. The bar had a large selection of craft beers. There was an nice menu which made choosing difficult. We went with fish and chips and a grilled reuben. I would recommend both as they were very good. Our server was very attentive. Our food arrived in less than 15 minutes.

Do they allow dogs on their patio? I've read that they are very accomodating to dogs in their outdoor seating area.

Hey Amanda, when we stopped by there was a couple that had a dog with them outside, so it looked like they do. Hope you enjoy

I think this must be a family owned place, because at some point, I saw a 13 year old (ish) boy clearing tables and handing out candy at the tables. We were sitting for quite a while before anyone noticed us and brought menus. But once we did get the attention of our waitress, she was very nice. There's a kids menu with the typical offerings. They mostly have the standard beers and a handful of local offerings. I had the hazy pineapple beer, and it was okay. My husband tried a local IPA, and he liked it. I had the fried shrimp and the housemade potato chips. They make their own chips (good, although unevenly salted) and they come with a delicious french onion dip, just like the stuff I remember from childhood. My husband and I couldn't get enough. The menu is otherwise pretty burger-based, but that's fine for a setting like this. They have a pool table that takes quarters. That kept the kids occupied while the adults were able to watch some of the March Madness fun.

I'd argue it's one of the best places in town for a burger--always cooked to perfection, with some unique and creative options on the menu. I highly recommend Thirsty's and always prefer supporting a local business over a food chain.

We started our evening at Sear Steakhouse with some excellent drinks. The thyme mocktail was crisp…read moreand refreshing, and my husband's old-fashioned was fragrant and well-balanced, complete with a perfect bada bing cherry. His only note was a preference for a single large ice cube rather than crushed, but overall the bar clearly knows what it's doing. The appetizers set a great tone. Warm sourdough was fresh and comforting. I enjoyed the bright, crisp house salad, while my husband's pumpkin soup was silky, savory, and perfectly seasonal. We both ordered the 7-ounce filet mignon, and the kitchen truly delivered! His medium-rare was tender and juicy with a beautiful sear, and my medium-well was still succulent--proof of precise cooking. They have an outstanding variety of cool, reasonably priced side dishes. My husband was excited about the Queen's honey carrots which were tender and flavorful (though the honey glaze was very subtle) and the creamy mashed potatoes that are part of the steak dish, were nicely executed. I didn't realize my filet came with mashed potatoes underneath, so I ordered a loaded, baked potato as my side, and ended up with extra potato (which I'm not complaining about whatsoever lol). We also enjoyed the whiskey cream sauce with mushrooms, which added a gentle smoky creamy richness, and the onion soubise, which was pure sweet comfort. Dessert was a highlight, as we celebrated my husband's birthday - we ordered all three featured desserts: The crème brûlée had a perfectly crackled top and smooth vanilla bean custard, the flourless chocolate dessert was deeply rich with espresso notes, and the butter cake was the total star - warm, moist, and decadently buttery. Each dessert was excellent in its own way, but that perfectly sinful butter cake stole the show! The atmosphere was inviting--warm wood tones, comfortable booths, well-balanced lighting, and enough TVs near the bar to keep my sports fan husband happy. Service was friendly and pleasant, though we found ourselves wishing for a bit more attentiveness. With a very quiet dining room, very early in the evening (we had a 4 PM reservation), there were moments when water refills lagged and opportunities for wine suggestions went unoffered (and we were definitely wanting to order some red with our steaks, but gave up because by the time there was an opportunity, we were finished with our steaks). We also briefly looked into the small private dining room on our way through the bar, and while we were greeted politely by one of the employees who was sitting in there, it felt like they missed the perfect opportunity to highlight the space for potential events. That said, nothing detracted significantly from the experience--it was simply a matter of polish. A touch more proactive engagement could elevate an already strong offering into something exceptional. Overall, Sear Steakhouse delivered an enjoyable and memorable evening. The food, drinks, and desserts are clearly strengths, and with just a little added focus on service flow and guest engagement, this restaurant has all the makings of a true standout in Rapid City. We look forward to returning and trying new things!

I'm really torn on this review because I've only been to Sear Steakhouse twice, and the experiences…read morewere completely different. The first visit was for a work event in the back room (not sure if that made a difference), and it was outstanding. The food was cooked to perfection--my steak literally melted in my mouth, and the sides were hot and delicious. I couldn't stop raving about it afterward. The second visit, after talking it up to my family, was a letdown. They were busy, and maybe that played a role, but it just wasn't the same. My steak was mediocre, and my husband was genuinely confused why I had claimed it was one of the best steaks I'd had in a long time. Unfortunately, when it comes to restaurants, the bad tends to outweigh the good. We haven't been back, and I can't justify the price tag when there are other great steak options in town. I know places can have off days, and maybe that's what happened--but I'm not willing to return to find out.
