Sorry to say that your menu looks very unhealthy. I used to eat at Perkins in Arizona many years ago when I lived there and I don't remember the food being so unhealthy. Maybe I just didn't worry about it then when I was so much younger. However, now that the I am an older senior with heart issues and also a type 2 diabetic, I wish you had healthy choices for those of us that care about what we put in our bodies. A large burger with everything but the kitchen sink on it plus a huge amount of French fries and a piece of lemon meringue pie combo looks like a heart attack on a plate to me. read more

This was my first time at a Perkins restaurant. They had a good selection of breakfast foods. Hubby and I both had omelets. Food was good. What really made the meal was the muffins! Soooo good! Plus, the whole staff was super friendly. The bathrooms were very clean too. read more

New manager has recently made some changes for the worse here. Been coming here for years with the family but won't be coming anymore. Things as simple as you are not allowed to substitute items on your meal anymore, but they can definitely add it for an extra costs. I.e hardy man's breakfast we requests toast instead of pancakes(which toast is easier then making pancakes). They wouldn't do it but tried to add the toast at an extra costs. Slimy business practice. Would not recommend going here. I was served by a Kaden, not sure if that's the right spelling but it wasn't the manager it was a server. When I got there, it took him a while to come ask for my drink order, then when he had it, it took him about 10 minutes to get it to me. So I gave him my food order when he came. The food was great and on time. He came m and checked on me after my food got to me but that was the last time. And he brought my ticket without saying anything, but I wanted to have an order of the same dish to go. It made me sad but I'm over it now. I have a friend that works there but they are being treated wrongly for no reason. And there's one person that needs to get fired her name is Ellie and she can't seem to be professional at work. She's grumpy at times and treats mainly her male coworkers like sugar honey iced tea. The ambience sucks, it's not as welcoming as you expect with it being a diner. As I sat waiting for someone to take my drink order, one waitress stood a few feet away & seemed to look through me as her head would turn in my direction, another waitress walked passed me twice without a word, and two other members of the staff stood at the hostess stand seemingly lost (including the gal that seated me). Not your usual Perkins! Normally that is a declaration given in favorable awe... I wish it were true, but alas it is not. This Perkins alone makes me want to send flowers to the Perkins near the MSP Airport in Minnesota! While our seating was quick - I should have known by the grimace on the face of our Hostess that we should turn and run away - fast. But, we didn't - the desire for a good, strong cup of coffee and a slice of pie-ala-mode overrode the gnawing, nagging feeling that all would not end well. Our waitress was friendly but disappeared for so long in search of pie, I was worried we might have to send a full team of huskies and guides to find her and bring her back. Upon her return - I almost wish she had remained where-ever it was she had disappeared to! My desire and cravings were decimated, destroyed, butchered, slaughtered, manhandled and downright murdered!! The pie was as exactly what was expected, heavy on the shortening, light on the apples, slathered in a bath of buttered cinnamon and plied snow deep in creamy vanilla icecream. However, a weapon of such destructive force was employed that even today, I tremble in fear that I should ever return to Minot's Perkin's Restaurant... burnt, stale, lukewarm coffee!! September 10, 2011 Saturday - breakfast 10:15 AM 6 adults and child Atmosphere - 4 stars Food - 3 stars Service - 4 stars Atmosphere - It is Perkins and it felt like one. The tables are way too close to each other. Food Appetizer - No muffin for me. Main Course - I had to try the Boston Cream Pancake Platter. Two pancakes rolled and filled with Boston cream, and then they were drizzled with chocolate and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. Two eggs served your choice, scrambled were mine and they were good. The sausage links casing was too tight on the meat; you could not cut them with a fork. I know it should snap but it would not do it. The meal itself could have been warmer, and the orange juice could have been colder. Dessert - We were in rush to get out. Service - I waitress was friendly and fast. She had help bring out the food, but can you blame here when everything came out at once, which in hind sight might have been a poor choice by them. But I hate the fact after sitting there having a meal you need to go to a cashier to pay, why not have the waitress take care of collecting the money from you like most restaurants. Ah, poor Perkins. Just getting beat up bad on here. Sorry guys. Went here over the weekend with a large group of friends and it was ok. The burger and fries I had was very good and no complaints on my end. Was it slow service? I suppose it was, but then we were a very large group and were talking and that, so I didn't notice it too much. This is the upper prairies and maybe speed is not their forte, whatever. Since this is UP (upper prairies) then at the same time we are much slower in general. Sit and visit kind of people. I like Perkins restaurants in general and so this one is ok, plus it is a very popular with the spend time with your friends crowd and that can't be a bad thing. So don't eat here unless you want to get sick!!!! The "Manager/Cook" said that it wasn't his food that got my wife ill even though it was all she had to eat. The place should stop serving any kind of food until the scare is over. What ever product he has on hand has probably been sitting there for over a week. This guy denied that my wife got sick on his food and tried to tell me about time to illness onset was 24 hours. If he knew what he was talking about he might have tried not to make the best excuse and would have admitted his fault. Staph food poisoning is characterized by a sudden start of nausea, vomiting, and stomach cramps. ... Symptoms usually develop within 30 minutes to 8 hours after eating or drinking an item containing Staph toxin, and last no longer than 1 day. Severe illness is rare but may occur 24 to 48 hours after the first symptoms. That's for your information cook/manager. That is straight from the CDC. This manager has no clue. I won't eat here ever again which is sad because Minot has so few places to eat and the choices I have are so limited. read more

My husband & I hadn't been here for awhile due to cleanliness issues. But we were craving eggs, etc. & were close by & decided to give them a try. Whoa! What a great difference ! This Perkins is amazingly clean and bright now. Our server was friendly & efficient, & the whole place has a friendly vibe . They have really expanded their menu. My husband enjoyed his eggs, hash browns, & bacon. Not greasy, I might add! I had the California avocado Benedict--very flavorful, with tasty fresh fruit on the side. So glad to take a break from my usual yogurt & fruit breakfast & returned to Perkins. Will happily go back. read more

Could not be more pleased with the food and service. Pork chops were tender and tasty. Asked for applesauce and our server provided it. Hubby had turkey supper; he asked for extra cranberry and got it. Wanted his gravy on the side and it was provided on the side. We came on a free pie Monday and were really pleased with everything. We had never been to a Perkins before today and were a little put off by the poor reviews. Kary was our server; she is Great! We didn't see any other customers complaining. Not bad I had the lemon blueberry pancakes. You could tell the lemon sauce was straight out of the can. Yuck! The pancakes were really fluffy and tasted good. Bacon was cooked to perfection. I hadn't been to Perkins in a long time. I recently gave it another shot. Other than being seated RIGHT next to the door when there were numerous open tables and booths, we had a good experience. I suppose I could have asked to be moved, but didn't initially notice the cold until more people started coming and going. Needless to say we didn't linger for dessert. We did have a great meal however and plenty of food. They have a senior menu where my mom found portions to be perfect and prices reasonable. Our service was adequate and so was the food. So as mentioned in my check in this was our first time here. The menu was similar to Denny's which was where we first went but the the line being so long we came here instead. It's a Sunday afternoon and was seated right away! The food here was way better QUALITY and the service was phenomenal. 6/14/15 After waiting a good fifteen minutes for a table, I ordered our son's meal right when we sat down. I was a little concerned when the server said, "I'm going to be you's guys server today, okay?" He was friendly, though, and we got our beverages right away. Then the wait began. You can only drink water and color with a two year old for so long. I hadn't seen our server for a while so I got the attention of another gal and asked her to please check on our food. By the time our server came back around, we had been waiting over 45 minutes. Then he went to the table behind us and apologized for making THEM wait for food (they were seated after us and were eating at the time). He addressed two older women as, "you guys" - that's just like nails on a chalkboard to me. My husband turned around and he said, "I think you should be telling that to us." He said, "Oh?" Then proceeded to blame the kitchen for being "slammed". I said, "I put my son's order in the minute we sat down. How long do you think a two year old can wait? (rhetorical question, but he wanted credit for his busy kitchen...) Are we going to get a discount on our bill?" The kid started stammering about needing to talk to a manager so I said, "Get him over here." My husband suggested we walk over to the Hardee's just so our son could get some food so we walked out. Very dissatisfied, pancakes tasted day old, gravy tasted outdated, omelette appeared as if it was made with substitute eggs and it had rotten tasting tomatoes on it. On top of that, I needed to change my baby's diaper and there was no changing station in the bathroom. Sun. February 21, 2016 so me and my wife decided to drop in on the local perkins here in Minot nd. And it was slightly delightful. Other then the strawberry crispers they where vary disappointing lack in taste and just plain bland. Other then that the lady was vary prompt to correct this issue and had taken it off my bill. And for as busy as it was the wait staff and waitress was vary friendly and fast to help any way the could. Will most definitely come back to this place again. We just had the most maddening experience at this Perkins. Hardly any customers in there. We ordered muffins and a breakfast, (which was fine). Then we went up to pay our bill. I stood there for five minutes or so, and I finally walked to the kitchen and nicely ask can someone check us out please? Five minutes later a young girl came and tried to swipe a card and it wouldn't work. So she left, and then came back five minutes later and said the manager will have to redo a card to swipe and he'll be out in a lil bit. You could hear them laughing and talking and having fun back there and no kidding, almost ten minutes later with three more groups gathering to pay the manager came. He acted like it was no big deal it took 20+minutes to check out. I said this was crazy how long it took for you to come out and tend to the customers. His name was Jon or Josh or something and I was not impressed! Get some customer service! Perkins used to be a great place to eat! read more

I don't even know where to start. I'll start at the end, we got our food for free. At this point, I didn't even want it, but I looked at my hungry daughter and husband and thought that if I didn't take it I would be in for it. When we first arrived, we got seated quickly and our waiter came right out and got our drink order. Not too shabby I thought. After he came for our food order, my husband and I took turns entertaining our 9 month old to no avail, she was hungry. It wasn't until I looked at my Yelp check-in did I realize that we had been sitting there for well over 30 minutes. After seeing a lady behind us who had ordered way after us get her meal, well I was fit to be tied. My husband who now see the "I am about to throw the biggest hissy fit this place has ever seen" look on my face, slowly..yet steadily picks up our daughter to hide behind. I swiftly walk up to the counter and tell the hostess that we had been sitting for 45 mins without our food, without a refill and that I was pretty dag gone sure our waiter went missing. She asked what table I was at and I looked at her and said that I didn't know because I didn't know the tables had numbers. So she goes to the kitchen and another waiter comes out to get us refills and I tell her that I just wanted our food to go but that I didn't even really want it but I wanted to speak with a manager. I look at my husband, still sheltering yet taking shelter with our daughter as his eyes tell me to please calm down. I'm not irrational, I'm not loud...I just want our food. The manager then tells us that they were packing up our food and that we didn't owe a dime. She apologized but then told us that our waiter forgot about turning in our ticket. I understand that things happens and people make mistakes but when I was younger we were forced to own up to those mistakes. If I could give this zero stars I would. I ordered a breakfast smasher and apparently it came with half a head of hair in it. This wasn't just one stray on the top of the meal kind of thing. This was multiple, long pieces of hair mixed in the food. The server was incredibly nice but manager approval to remove the item from the bill apparently is a very time consuming process so I paid for the entire meal and left. It's hit or miss here. Sometimes great service and adequate food, most of it frozen and reheated but it is what it is. Other times inefficient and gross. They seem to have high staff turnover which is no wonder as the owners spends evenings sitting at a booth with a pot of coffee watching every move and giving odd and dirty looks. I know this was the owner because I asked the server if this was the manager or something (only because I saw him sitting and staring more than once when I went during the evening) and she said no it's the owner. Then I realized why some of the good servers seems to disappear rather quickly. They do have some staff that have held out but you have to visit during the morning hours probably before 2. I've eaten / tried most of their menu from breakfast to dinner its standard American food and its best to stay simple don't order their special features if it is remotely ethnic sounding - i.e. pasta. Their soup is only thing hasn't ever tasted bad no matter what type it is. The pies at this location used to be great but the last year or so they seem to have become tired and lazy tasting.
