We were in town to visit the Harding Presidentail Library and were looking for a lunch spot. Our original choice was too crowded with no parking available and a line for a table. We decided to come here instead. It was a good choice. There was no wait, and the service was really quick. The menu has plenty of options, including breakfast foods, soups, salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I chose the honey mustard chicken salad. It had fried chicken pieces, lettuce, peppers, onions, carrots, cheddar cheese, and honey mustard dressing. It was plentiful and tasted great. My husband had the pick two lunch special. He chose chicken noodle soup and a blt sandwich. Both items were big and tasty. They also have a lot of great looking desserts, but we passed on those today. read more

I'll give a quick summary at the top and then expand a bit more later. Service: excellent and polite, food:: about what you'd expect with a few standout items, atmosphere: better than what you'd expect. Service: The best thing about my experience here was probably the excellent service. I've been here twice and the first time I had an older woman and the second time I had a young man as my servers. Both of them were polite, timely, and got my food to me to the specifications. The young man also seems to be capable of memorizing orders without writing them down. Overall quite a good experience. Food: About what you'd expect from a chain, and I'll be reviewing based on what you'd expect from diner type food. Notably the pancakes are better than the standards from IHOP and Denny's. They have a perfect slightly crispy outer layer and fluffy interior. I've also tried their waffles and french toast and I'd say Pancakes, then French toast, then waffles. The sausage links are a bit greasy, so substitute them with the smoked sausage which is literally 5-10 times better. Atmosphere: The booths have high backs, and each booth is separated by a layer of frosted glass. This means you have a degree of isolation from other customers in the store, but not completely so. The layer of glass also slightly muffles conversation so you can have more private conversations if you need to. The color scheme is a bit on the bright side, though you can't really do much about that with a franchise. The lighting is also a bit too bright, especially noticeable if you come later in the day. But overall about what you'd expect from a franchise location. read more

I haven't been to Perkins in a very long time. I went with a friend for breakfast. We went early to beat the crowds, as Perkins is a favorite in the area. I got the Big Country breakfast. It was a filling skillet plate. We also got the strawberry cheesecake fried crepes. Everything was really good. They have a large selection of bakery items that all looked amazing. We went on Veterans Day. The website advertised a free magnificent seven to all military with a military ID. The place was packed with military who inquired about the free meal to be told they are not honoring special, that they were only doing the 11% discount that they always do. They said you had to have a coupon to get the free meal but no one knew how to get the coupon. One waitress even said we never have and never will give free meals to veterans. She offered to give me owners number but then no one seemed to know that number. I felt like this was a total scam! Advertising free meal as an appreciation for out military then not honoring it. A good, clean efficient joint. I actually prefer this to any if your box chains like Applebee's, Panera, Olive Garden etc., they are different in that they carry many home-made pies and desserts. Place used to have servers and staff with ten plus years or more on the job there. The place used to be packed. Saturday mornings used to be a sea of Scarlet and Gray during Buckeye football season. Now every one of the old-timers on staff were let go and the wait staff has a turn over rate equal to a fast food joint. Our last three visits there nothing was right with our order, again and again. Had to ask for the correct salad dressing, syrup for pancakes, refills on drinks (used to be your glass would be hajj empty before being replaced with a new one or a refill), and the food quality has truly hit the skids. My take on this? Labor and food costs are the easiest things to cut way back on. And I can imagine that stripping the staff down and buying cheap ingredients could probably make them more profit with fewer customers. But they have run us off and I would bet this philosophy will catch up with them. It's a shame. And they do t hold a candle to Real Perkins quality restaurants any where else we go. Sad. read more

I understand when it's busy things might feel a bit crazy but no reason to be rude to a customer and say it was the customers fault...it is unfortunate that her attitude left the bad taste. read more

I know it may be awkward but someone has to remind them...or their parents such behavior is not polite nor is it safe.
