Had lunch here yesterday with a friend. We loved it. Great food and great service by Nicole. We don't get to Perkins Restaurants much because they aren't near either of our homes but we go when we are close to one. I had a patty melt and side salad. My friend had a cheeseburger and side salad. All was very tasty and arrived quickly. My friend had a soda and I had unsweetened tea, which was very good. We don't normally get dessert but we had to yesterday, after looking at all the treats in the glass cases. I had a delicious piece of coconut cream pie and my friend had a piece of the strawberry pie. Yummo. Hope to be close to Perkins again very soon. read more

Sometimes places are hit or miss. Today was a little bit of a miss. Elyse are server was very friendly and polite. Are issues came from the kitchen.The fish was way over cooked and was very dry. The asparagus was over cooked and very limp.The other dish on our table was salmon. That was fine. The rice that came with it was a firm lump. But both are meals were hot. I could have complained. Entered the restaurant and were greeted by a very nice young person. He seated us right away and took our drink order and he informs us he's our server as well. We thought oh crap they're short handed we're going to be here forever. We also notice he's at the cash register as well. We did not wait forever for food he was fabulous. What a multitasker!! The food arrived hot and we recommend the meatloaf, it was delicious. The server remained pleasant and attentive even tho he was wearing many hats! I believe his name was Skylar. They tend to have delicious pies and cookies. As for service, it's usually on par with your typical roadside diner somewhere in rural Alabama. Ample disinterest and order inaccuracy are the guiding principles of the waitstaff, generally speaking. In their defense, I imagine they are under paid, under tipped, over worked and treated pretty shabbily. If you do decide to eat here, I urge you to order breakfast regardless of the hour. Eggs, pancakes, waffles ... there are all, honestly, pretty good. Avoid the coffee; I don't know what bean was ground up to produce it, but it isn't any coffee bean I recognize. Sandwiches, not burgers, are another relatively safe bet. Do not order the entrees. You will only have yourself to blame. read more

Not even a 1 star rating expresses the service. This restaurant is unprofessional and very disgusting. I would NOT EVER recommend coming here not even if you're starving. Most locations are closing anyways so this one shall be next. Just a reminder, when you prepare a plate, there should not be 30 million finger prints visible on the dirty plate, with the dried out pasta. I am just shook that they thought this was an acceptable way to prepare and present my plate. Mind you, everyone around us had gotten their food before us, while we waited for 30 minutes watching everyone eating. Gettysburg Perkins: The food is spectacular! Their presentation is beautiful, and the food is delicious. But the silverware is cloudy and scummy. There is a coating of something on their silverware. I can scratch some of it off, but it's some sort of cloudy stain and very difficult for me to scrape off. So, I would recommend putting SOS steal-wool in your pocketbook, if you decide to eat at Perkins. This may be a public health issue. read more

Just leaving this place now after having been served by Emily. Although I believe the food was good, her service was extremely poor. My table asked for water and it wasn't brought to the table for 45 minutes. Yes, I do mean a full 45 minutes. Our coffee ran dry, creams never replenished, ect. The food did take quite a while. After trying to wave Emily over or grab her eye for attention, we gave up. She never told us when she dropped the check that we were to pay up front, and left us needing a box for another 20 minutes. I actually saw another table just walk out and leave before food even arrived due to her lack of timely service. Overall my family and I will not return. We were seated at a booth pretty soon after walking in. It was late, and we were tired, but not too tired to realize the padding was missing from the center of this bench! We couldn't concentrate on the menu even for a second because across the way was an obnoxious, screaming child! When our waitress came over we requested to be moved as this booth (and screaming child) was most unpleasant. With a sweet disposition, she had no problem moving us. We mentioned this loud, unpleasant screaming child to the older waitress who was working in the area we were moved to (she wasn't pleased as she was 'cleaning' and didn't mind letting the "new" young waitress know) but no one seemed to care this child was being so annoying as not one staff, including the manager, talked with the parents. Our meals were good. Which is a large part of the reason we all read reviews. My husband had the Homestyle Pot Roast with mash potatoes. The beef was tender and tasty. Not full of fat. I enjoyed the Grilled Salmon with an Apricot Balsamic sauce. I can't say I've ever had this sauce, but can definitely say I'll have it again! Apple pie for dessert and we were satisfied :) read more

First time at this restaurant - we ordered the new Boston Creme pancakes - they were not only the worst pancakes I've ever had in my life, but I believe it may be the worst food I've ever had in my life from a restaurant. Imagine eating three circular pieces of soggy, damp corrugated cardboard with copious amounts of chocolate sauce poured on top. They should give you a free roll of toilet paper at your table while you eat them. Only would recommend them if you need something quick for a crash colonoscopy prep. I've been to many Perkins over the years. Perkins hardly ever disappoints. What disappoints is the customer service, but this place did not. The employees were great, efficient, and friendly. They took our orders quickly, didn't **** 'em up, and didn't disappear on us. The food was tasty and hot! The portions are big, so you can consider sharing a plate. They earned the 5 stars! Most chain restaurants fall short of the menu pictures. This Perkins gives you picture perfect food. The service is consistently good. They seem to have long time employees and managers. We go on weekends when at our nearby summer cottage and have been going for years. Someone always remembers us from the previous summer! Their breakfasts are good sized, fresh and hot. The parking lot is large and convenient to the main road unlike some local chain restaurants which are back from the road in the large Giant/Walmart lot across Eisenhower Avenue. They bake the muffing and pies on the premises, so you can't miss with the warmed up muffins and butter, or take home a pie or box of muffins. They are crowded at obvious early breakfast and lunch times, but they handle the line courteously with a written list. Night time the place is yours and they have late night specials. A continuously excellent local place, even though it's a chain restaurant. read more

Family of 6 had dinners with Perkins, we never did the business with before. But after checking other restaurants near which are very busy so we decided to try Perkins. Surprised to see a lot of senior citizens there, I assumed that the prices are very affordable. Majority of meals are home style types, just like mom would make at home. Foods were delicious but a bit salty, mostly in the mashed potatoes. (Manager, if you see this, cut down the salt please) Service was great. Looked over the menu, many foods looked good, many breakfast, lunch and dinner meals are serving anytime which I like the most. Received free cookies for my kids which is a plus. I've been to other Perkins' before that were decent. This is not one of them. Our waitress seemed like we were an inconvenience, which I don't understand in an industry where you rely on your tips. Our dinner took quite a while to come out and we were two of maybe eight people in the restaurant. The food was bland and VERY expensive for what you were eating. I think it's hard to find a plate under $12, which to me is a little high for a restaurant like this, especially given the quality. Safe to say we won't be returning. read more

I'm giving Perkins a 3 stars because most of the time our service is fast and friendly and the food is pretty good but that was not the case last Sunday. My roommate, son and I decided to go for brunch. We were told the wait time would be 20-25 minutes but we only waiting 15 or so, that was a plus. We were seated and our waitress came by to take our drink order and ask us if we knew what we wanted to order or if we needed more time. We needed a minute so she told us she would be back. Never did we think that meant 10 minutes later. She finally took our order. I wasn't in the mood for breakfast so I order a spinach and chicken salad with bleu cheese dressing and a order of mozzarella sticks for my son and I to share. It was rather busy so I didn't expect the food to come out immediately but I did expect our waitress to check on us and ask us for refills since all our cups were empty. After some time we received our food. Our waitress brought out something that was not bleu cheese and my roommates order was wrong but she didn't complain. I asked our waitress for bleu cheese again and refills on all our cokes. That was a big mistake. By the time she brought out our refills and dressing my roommate and my son were close to being done with there meals and I hadn't touched my salad. Id say we waited 20 or so minutes for refills. It isn't bad. When we want something quick & we are in Hanover, this is the place we go. Staff is always friendly. One time the waitress forgot my salad but I just reminded them & she brought it out. One night near the end of the evening they started vaccuming the booth next to us which I thought was rude. There were other customers a booth away also. The food is ok. Greasy, salty or bland. I have gotten the talapia & the edges were crisp but I didn't expect much. I was looking for healthy options.
