What I've always loved is the sheer range on the menu... you can go from Cajun salmon to country fried steak and eggs without missing a beat. From the moment we walked it started to go down hill. Sunday about 10:30. Place half full, no greeter in the entrance. Waited 5 min before someone came to seat us. Seated us right where servers bring out food. 10 min later the person who seated us walked by. I said "excuse me. But thank you for seating us but could we also have a waitress". She says I'll go get her for you. Finally place our order. Food arrive and it was very pedestrian. Hash browns were cool not hot as was the toast. Waitress left the food and didn't see her again till after we finished and I had asked someone again to find her. In short: food very bland and not hot and service is .....well non-existent. I have eaten here numerous times; excellent breakfast. My eggs are done perfectly over easy is not slimey , not over done. The waitstaff is older employees unheard of these days, one waitress over 40 years working here. Senior workers are appreciated obviously and not invisible. I respect this company's business ethics and management. Ambience is nice. I am no longer frequenting restaurants that are only hiring eye candy. Sometimes a moral compass is worthy of my money and others. No restaurant is 100% every day if you have an issue stop, don't eat 99% of it and then complain.. read more

Had breakfast on April 13, 2025. Party of four. Fairly busy but still had room for us. Our waiter arrived very shortly after we sat down and took our orders. After a short wait our food arrived and I gotta say this was quite possibly the best Perkins food I ever had, especially the hash brown 'taters. Nice presentation also...good food attractively served. At checkout, Alvin at the front desk kept us amused with his bakery marketing skills. My hubby and I are self-proclaimed hashbrown snobs! We have been traveling a LOT due to medical issues, which means many meals in restaurants. We love to eat breakfast out and oftentimes are disappointed by the hashbrowns. I have to tell you; we went to this Perkins Christmas Eve morning before we got on the road for a long trip home. We both had hashbrowns and they were freaking amazing!! Seasoned perfectly, and crispy, but not burnt!!! I enjoy giving restaurant workers positive feedback, as I know they don't hear it enough. I asked the waitress to send the manager over. We explained to the manager that the hashbrowns were cooked to perfection and the waitress was just delightful. Have stopped in for breakfast twice, totally mediocre. First visit it took 90 minutes to sit, order, be served, eat, pay check for eggs and pancakes for one. super slow service & no one to pay & waited 12 minutes to cash out. Second visit service good but cold, unappealing scrambled eggs, half and half curdled the coffee, pancakes had crispy edges and over done. We've been coming to perkins for a long time and it was always a good experience, until today that is. We came in for some brunch and were seated, that was fine. We continued to order and appetizer and our food. A server brought us out our food, missing an item and our appetizer, we asked for the item and appetizer and the server left. Then she brought us back our appetizer, still forgetting the other item, so we asked again. About 5 minutes later, she brought us out the wrong thing, placed it on the table, said nothing, then walked away with a huff. We later found out, our appetizer was originally given to the wrong table, who also received their food before the correct appetizer. We were not spoken to again until our check was brought to us. The food arrived cold butter on pancakes would not even melt. When complained to our server they took the food back to the kitchen and microwave it. Which made the food hot but dried out my pancakes and my son scrambled. Hash browns tasted like bacon grease. Service was ok but food was awful. Ok so I never leave reviews even if the place is bad , but this place almost has put me in the hospital. I didn't mind that it took 45 minutes for us to get our food, I mind that I have the worst diarrhea of my entire life. When I looked into the kitchen through the window I would bet money that this place is in violation of health codes their kitchen was disgusting. The person I saw wasn't even wearing gloves. I'm trying to weed out this diarrhea but if it doesn't go away I'm going to the hospital tomorrow. The waitress was nice the people were relatively nice. But I judge her place by how clean the kitchen and bathroom is their bathroom was like a gas station bathroom in their kitchen looks like it's never been cleaned. Plus diarrhea which means the food was actually contaminated somehow. If I continue to be sick or anyone else from my trip that went there gets sick I'm reporting this to whoever I can report it to. Completely disgusting. I also am not the type of person to think A restaurant is disgusting I traveled all over the World an eaten at a lot of so so sketchy places and been fine. Even when I was in China I didn't get diarrhea. I will literally eat anything in the last time I felt this sick was maybe in the fifth grade. But I missed class today because I couldn't go 5 feet without a literally exploding in pain and sickness. Recently stopped in hoping for a nice breakfast. We're disappointed immediately when we Waited fifteen minutes for a waiter to come serve us. Upon being served waited an additional hour for our food. Safe to say our food was not very good either. Fish was cold, the hash browns were crusty and overcooked. Along with had to ask for silverware twice after receiving our food. Arriving around 2:30 am, hungry and sober, after a very long night socializing, this place delivered just what I needed. Hot and fresh pancakes, and a bacon, cheese scrambler with fried potatoes. All of it was oh so tasty and soothing to my throat that was a bit hoarse and raw from talking and laughing so loud throughout the night. The pancakes were the best, though. Yesterday my Son and I went to Perkins and it was just afternoon. Parking lot was full of cars but the restaurant wasn't full of people. We waited after being seated and told our waitress would be right there. She never showed. Got our drinks from some male working there. I ordered decaf coffee. Put my usual creamer in had to put in more. Still way too strong. Waitress(Tara) finally showed up about 20 minutes later. Asked what we'd like to order.I ordered off the 55plus menu. Told her about the coffee. She comes back with the same pot and said it was fresh. Finally got that straightened out with the manager he said they were having problems with that coffee maker. Then use another machine. She brought our food no apologies no words actually. It was like dealing with a 16 year old(Tara 40 some years old) shame on you. Got our bill and I was charged full price for mine instead of 55 plus price. Told person checking out about the problems and she comped it fairly nice. Not that we were going for that but it was nice she cared. Also didn't tip Tara and I have never not tipped before. Went there on Sunday expecting there to be a little bit of wait, which is totally understandable but they skipped over our name while we were waiting by 5 parties, so we ended up waiting for almost an hour, when we got sat down the manager came over and apologized for skipping over our name and said we could get a free slice of pie and 25% discount. we then order our food which came burned. We went there for breakfast and they received my 3 strike rule, meaning they're OUT. Exceptionally slow service, wrong orders and cold food. It's pretty hard to screw up eggs over easy but they did along with cold scrambled eggs. We would have told the waitress but she was nowhere to be found and even so who wants to wait another 20 - 30 minutes for a do over. When she finally came to deliver our bill I mentioned the above and her response was "I have no control over that". This was the third visit in a row where both the service and food were sub par and even though the manager took care of the bill we'll not be back.
