Got a couple mufflers deleted with custom piping from Rusty. Took his recommendation and saved some money over buying a flow master outlaw, which I was considering. The outlaw would have been louder removing all 3 OEM muffler/resonators. With Rusty's custom work, keeping the front resonator gave it a more mellow tone than the FM outlaw which I like. My car: 2015 challenger R/T hemi 5.7L V8 symptoms: metallic rattling at low speeds and in reverse Dodge dealer recommendation: replace bad driver side catalytic converter....price estimate = $4,800 just for the part!!!! I called around to at least 2 autozones and 2 Napa auto parts stores. Price estimates for a catalytic converter ranged from $600-$775. But of course they are not Mopar parts....so what? Does that really matter? The dealers estimate was for a Mopar part, of course. I got an estimate from performance muffler in phx on north 32nd street. $800 for a top shelve part plus $100 labor. I took the car in and turns out I didn't even need a catalytic converter. Computer diagnostics did not return any error codes. Just needed to have a retaining bracket tightened. When I asked "what do I owe you", the tech said "nothing". I said "let me pay you for your time" to which he said there was no charge just for checking. Wow! Honesty! So, If I ever do need work done on the challenger's exhaust systems, this shop will be my first call. Thanks much! George C. read more

My wife and I acquired a '89 C4 Corvette late last September and had just gotten it to the point where we were REALLY enjoying it when in late October we were exiting a gated parking lot and a low hanging exhaust pipe coupler U-bolt caught the large metal gate flange and garfed up the coupler and tore a hole in the exhaust pipe causing not only an exhaust leak right in the middle of the car, but an obnoxious drone ta boot! Was gonna take it to my usual mechanic, but found Performance Muffler on Yelp, called and they could get to the repair sooner so gave them a try. Needless to say, I was not disappointed as they fixed the pipe quicker than I anticipated and was picking the car up before I knew it! A day or so later after the fix, we noticed an annoying rattle when the vehicle was in gear at low engine idle (no rattle at any higher engine RPM). Called Performance Muffler, told them about it and was given a time to bring it in to check it out. Zack and company found the source of the rattle quickly, a loose EGR check valve pipe coupling that was garfed up from before we purchased the car, fixed that and found another exhaust leak on another coupler towards the back on the car! Even better, they didn't charge any extra for additional repairs and the price for the original work was more than reasonable! Needless to say, we got our pleasant V8 rumble back and LORVET sounds even better! No more exhaust leaks, no more rattle, just small block Chevy MOOOOSIC! I have had 3 different cars brought to Performance Muffler for both a muffler swap and a resonator addition in place of mid mufflers on my Dodge Charger Scat pack. the other 2 car were Coyote Mustang GT's. ALL 3 cars had very good clean welds around the pipes, they made extra sure that the exit pipes were perfectly straight and that I was happy how they looked. they took their time and did remarkable jobs on all 3 cars. Matter of fact I have 1 more my son will be bringing in to have his resonators welded on.. in the past I had many older carts and tried other muffler shops such as surprise muffler, and they either didn't know how to do the work, didn't have the right size pipes in stock, or they showed little interest in doing any work, yet they wanted crazy high prices. wont ever go there again. Driving into Phoenix from Texas, I stopped in Tucson for gas. The generator on my van has a catalytic and muffler, and the muffler was dragging on the ground. After a quick panic, I called my brother and we "jerry-rigged" a solution that got me into Phoenix. I had to take the van to a few customer calls, and the temporary fix held, but I needed to get it welded properly. I called Performance Muffler; they could not see me on Monday, but we agreed to do the work on Wednesday morning. The Peoria shop was closed that day so I met the young man in Glendale. It took him about 30 minutes to do the three welds required to have my van back to "factory fresh" and I am truly GRATEFUL he was able to do this work with such a short notice and so quickly. Had mufflers installed here, and about a month later one of them fell off, causing damage to the heat shield, rear bumper as well as the muffler. When I brought in the car to see if it could be fixed, it was suggested that I replace the muffler than bring it back...funny. The owner or manager said he would be happy to attempt to fix the muffler at my expense for three hours of shop labor for something that was their faults. Terrible customer service. The entire time the manager/owner belittled me for "not adjusting the mufflers". I work on cars as a hobby and not once have I ever had to "adjust the mufflers". After the initial install I was told "youre good to go"! Guess that means I have to adjust the mufflers... Will be taking my business else where in the future. Plenty of other shops that abide by there "lifetime warranty" clause. read more
