I had a referral to this place from another garage who had worked on my transmission and then stated my differential needed to be looked at. I first took my vehicle to Christian Brothers (NEVER AGAIN) because they had done some work a few years ago with a wheel bearing. They repaired my other wheel bearing stating that was the problem and not my differential. (NEVER AGAIN FOR THEM). After that Christian Brothers told me it was also my Differential and it would cost me $2,100. I called AZ Differential Specialists and they estimated over the phone between $600 for a minor repair and $1,000 for something more major. Worst case scenario I was told it could get up to $2,000 or $2,200. BUT that was a totally bad with everything possibly wrong and damaged. So, I set an appointment and brought it in They diagnosed it and gave me the report over the phone. $870 to repair it. They finished within a few hours and I picked it up. No noise from the rear of my vehicle, running great. AND I SAVED A LOT. The shop does not look clean, but they are a Differential Repair place. What do you expect. They are polite and professional. Bubba gave me an estimate. He was every bit the professional I would like to see. Tony was there when I dropped it off. Did an absolutely killer job on rebuilding and upgrading a custom 12 Bolt Posi rear for my 1970 Pontiac. Bubba is great to work with and just a good guy. The thing with dealing with old cars is that there are so many things that can go wrong it's difficult to find a shop that will treat your fairly and not absolutely punish you for anything they can. Typically, the work is either A) bad (since the car is older and may not be perfect so who cares) or B)- you will get killed price-wise for owning a specialty vehicle, and their skill. They will treat you well, no BS, no games. I 100% will work with only these guys for future needs. Got the rear installed, along with my new control arms, bushings and off I went. The limited slip in my 2013 Wrangler decided to consume itself (1/4in pieces of gear in the oil), so I called some local shops to see what repairs would cost. AZ Differential was willing to work with the differential I suggested and their cost was less than the competitor. I had never had differential work done but I'd heard good things, so chose to process with AZ Differential. Dave was very easy to work with and I had my Jeep towed to their shop on Friday. By Monday, I received a call that the work was done and I could pick it up! Not only that but the actual cost was less (albeit slightly) than the original estimate! Two days' service and they beat their own estimate? Sounds too good to be true but it is!! I don't normally leave reviews on Yelp but felt that this was exceptional and deserved mention. I was referred here by another shop that didn't have the necessary tools for what we needed done. I'll admit, I was a bit hesitant at first. It's a tiny shop- nothing fancy with little to no parking. We brought our vehicle in without an appointment, and they had it ready by midday the following day (I had told them I didn't need it right away). We had gone in expecting to pay near $1000 based on other work we have had done. Imagine my surprise when the bill was just over $200. I called on 12/2 to setup an appointment to get 4.56 gears and a Detroit Truetrac locker installed. They said bring in on in the next morning and they will get it done within a couple of days. I arrived at about 7:30AM and they were promptly open at 8AM. We talked through what I wanted done and they explained everything. I called back at about 2PM to see if they thought it would be done the same day because they did have several jobs going all at the same time. It ended up being completed by 4PM. If you need differential work, I highly recommend this place. I have an old '65 F100 pick up. It had an open diff and would sometimes spin the tire on slippery boat ramps. I also pull an old vintage trailer. I figured a posi rear end and some new lower gears were in order. Talked to the guys there and I got a fair quote. When I went to go pick up the truck, they said they ran into a problem. Ugh! Here comes an extra $600 I thought. One of the half shafts was in bad shape. Since its so old, it's not a readily available item. Guess what? Since they've been doing this so long, they had a used one in good shape and just installed it. I was out the door on time AND the same price they initially quoted me. When asked if I wanted to keep the old parts, I said sure, I'll find something to do with them. They took the old gears and half shaft and had a friendly worker completely de-grease them in a parts washer and box them up. That was over and above great service! A year and a half later, my 410 gears and Trutrac limited slip are running perfectly. I wish all places operated this way. read more

AZ Differential Specialists gave me the best estimate that I could find for rebuilding my transfer case so after reading these reviews I decided to use them. Being on Grand avenue, I was already prepared for an older industrial looking building. Its true they had very little parking and the shop definitely wasn't fancy, but those things really aren't important to me. Bubba, their customer service rep, was very communicative and professional through the entire process and took the time to explain the work they were doing. They were on time with the repair, and even offered a 12 month warranty on all repairs. UPDATE: We continued to have issues with noise in our differential even after Arizona Differential serviced and inspected our differential and told us the ring and pinion looked good with normal wear. We took our truck to the dealer for a diagnostic and they discovered the ring and pinion had excessive wear and backlash was on high side of acceptable tolerances. They also told us whoever serviced the differential last (Arizona Differential) used the wrong gear oil and WAY overfilled which caused the oil to foam. So because they could not diagnose the initial problem and used wrong oil and overfilled during their service - I wont be back myself or recommend them. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! I first to my car to another shop and they told me the gears needed replaced = $1,500. I then called AZ Differential and they said they could do it cheaper. Went down there and they test drove it and said pretty sure it is only the bearings. They took it apart and it was only the bearings = $600. Got to love an honest shop! Good communication before, during and after servicing of my GM 12-bolt. After taking the car to them, I took one of the knowledgeable staff members, Jose for a ride in my ride. His inclination was the pinion bearing was the culprit making the offensive noise. I left the car at the business with the promise it would be fixed as soon as possible - within the next couple of days, and It was done by the end of the day! During the course of the repair they called to suggest I consider replacing the axle bearings as well, which I had them do. Their work is professional, the staff friendly, and the repair bill reasonable. I took my car to the Ford Dealer in Peoria for an install of a new differential. When I got it back it whined and sang at highway speeds. I complained to the service advisor who said his differential guys do all the installs and he would talk with them. The next contact the advisor told me that the tech said "they all do that." I visited the dealer to find out more. The service advisor walked me back to speak to the tech. The tech told me if he tried to adjust it more it would just get worse. I left not happy. Then I went to an auto parts (O'Reilly) store next to Ace hardware on Indian School to see if there was some oil additive that might help. The people in the auto parts store said the guys at AZ Differential Specialists could help me. Cutting to the chase the AZ Differential Specialists reworked and RandR'd the differential over a 3 day period so that it is just as quiet as new when I ordered it from the factory. When i went in to pick it up, I was educated on how to properly install it, including the specs. The repair was completed on time and I could tell that the parts had been cleaned thoroughly.
