I wouldn't recommend any other body shop other than this one. (Fyi they don't just do body work they do alittle bit of engine work as well, as far as I know) Martin is incredibly trustworthy and a friendly guy! I came in initially for a quote on getting some fender flares installed on my WRX for a larger wheel set up and we talked about prices for alittle bit and he showed me around his shop after they were already closed! Immediately felt comfortable with leaving my car under his watch. They do it right the first time! Got my WRX back in only 4 days in which other shops had told me that it would take them approximately a week maybe even 2. They were quick with it and it was done right! I took my car here to have a custom body kit fitted onto my Maserati. The body kit had to be significantly modified to fit the car so it took longer than expected. The final results looked fantastic and did not look like an after-market body kit. I would highly recommend having any body work and custom work done at this shop. read more

I had AZ Street Custom restore my car from the frame up. Unfortunately, the process was problematic. Here are some of the issues encountered (not all, limited by max review length): -Assured frame would be straightened during restoration. Not straightened, car still sits at significant angle -Asked for max legal window tint. Not tinted above smoked glass -Asked for points distributor. Electronic distributor -Asked for power brakes. Manual brakes -Asked for long tube headers. Standard headers -Asked for specific v-belt pulley kit and electric radiator fans and to be notified if there were clearance issues (second choice was a flex fan). I was not notified of clearance issues and they installed a serpentine kit instead. With the chosen serpentine kit, the clearance issues remained. In addition to thousands of extra dollars for kit and required alternate accessories, I was charged labor for multiple trial fan installations, fan shroud fabrications and other customizations required to fit the serpentine kit. They finally got a fan to fit, but it is under-powered and they had to remove part of the serpentine kit to make it fit. I will probably just remove serpentine kit and install the v-belt kit I originally wanted. If I do, I will update this review to indicate if there really were clearance issues. -Asked for custom rear speaker installation with supplied custom brackets (simple bolt-in installation). Declined because he "could not guarantee my people will do it right". After this, I asked to restore the rear deck as if no speakers would be installed. They then installed package tray with speaker pods. They did install the standard package tray after pointing out the mistake, but tried to charge me for it. -Asked to have speakers installed in doors (supplied by me). They cut incorrect holes in doors. They repaired the doors, but the repairs look like crap. After this, I told them not to bother installing speakers since I was going to have someone else install rear speakers anyway. At this point, they decided to literally trash my brand new speakers. They were found in bottom of garbage parts box covered in dirt, filled with metal shavings, with bent frames and damaged cones. Completely destroyed. -Asked to fully carpet the trunk. No carpet (no finish whatsoever). They incorrectly claimed I said not to finish the trunk (the ONLY thing I told them not to do was install the speakers due to issues mentioned above) -Asked several times to paint trim around rear window black. They painted it body color. They did repaint it after pointing out the mistake, but tried to charge me for it. -Asked to have my rims restored. They eventually did, but after much arguing and claiming they were defective in some way -Chipped paint on edge of trunk, door jams and interior panels. Said they would repair but did not -Scratched chrome on rear bumper (was not scratched when originally installed) -Glass does not seat properly on weather stripping. Attempted to fix but failed -Passenger door does not open from inside. Attempted to fix but failed -Many billing errors (duplicate parts, duplicate labor, typos for thousands of $, etc...) -Very loose steering. Greater than 15 degrees play in steering wheel -Leaking transmission fluid -Failed emissions test -Emergency brake does not work -Brake pedal adjusted too high and gas pedal adjusted too low. Due to this, I actually got my foot caught under the brake pedal a couple times while approaching reds lights while driving it home -Car overheats at idle when outside temp is above 80ish degrees (see the v-belt/serpentine/fan issue mentioned above) -Car vibrates horribly when letting off gas at 50mph -Horrible chirping noises from front and rear -Windows do not roll up/down properly (grinding/popping) - do not roll up/down all the way -Weather stripping in door not attached/falling out -Chrome trim around windshield not secure/lifting off -Damaged door panels -Bent door trim -Damaged vinyl on seats -Missing trim pieces -Bare wires hanging out from underneath dash Martin is friendly, has a great sense of humor and can really paint a car. I wish I could have left a positive review. Unfortunately, I cannot. After paying 3 times the maximum I had intended to pay, I am left with a lopsided, incomplete and undriveable car with unwanted customizations and many defects. They did offer to fix any issues that I may find, but at this point, I would rather pay someone else to properly fix the problems and to actually finish the restoration. There was a recurring theme where I would ask them to do something, they said they would do it and then would not do it at all. Or, in some cases, they would just do whatever they wanted instead. If I had to do it over again, I would have brought my car elsewhere. If all you need is a really nice paint job, AZ Street Custom may be a reasonable option. If you need anything more involved or truly "custom" (to your specifications), I highly recommend you choose another read more

AZ Street Customs did a GREAT job installing a carbon fiber hood w/ hood pins on my Scion TC. I spoke with the owner Martin who is incredibly friendly and easy to work with. Before we even got started talking about the job or price he showed me around his shop and made me feel comfortable about leaving my car in his hands. I ordered my hood and hood pins from an outside vendor and I brought everything to him. He was skeptical at first as to wheather the hood pins i bought for it would work or not but he ended up making it work and look amazing!
