Wiring harness after Doug Bromley said I just needed a new battery lol
    Shawna J.

I recently moved to Phoenix and was looking for a technician to repair my 1978 Corvette that would not keep a charge. I have owned the car for 16 years and explained everything I done over the years and that I was looking for a new wiring harness. A couple days later, I was contacted and was told they changed the battery and that fixed the issue. I explained that was not the issue and similar to other reviews, Doug Bromley was rude and condescending. After going back and forth he finally agreed to take a second look and discovered that that the harness was fried and needed to be replaced (pictures attached). He ordered my harness from eBay for $1070 (had I known that he wasn't using Ecklers or Summit, I would have brought my business elsewhere) and charged me $1400 plus labor (receipts attached). Issues: - He installed the harness over the ashtray, so I cannot open it and although I am not a smoker, I cannot open it to charge my phone - Windshield wipers no longer work - Threw away my life time battery - RetroRadio installed wrong when re-installed - Missing "flag" for PRNDL - Arm no longer secured to driver side door - Fuse blows if I roll the windows down when the radio is on And if all that wasn't bad enough, he called me and told me my car is ready, so I took a $70 Uber from West Valley and when I fired it up the alternator light was on, and the tachometer and the speedometer didn't work. I went in and told him and he was like, it worked last night. So I just stared at him and he looked me dead in the eye and said, I don't know why you're wasting your money on that piece of $h!t anyway... call a friend and have them pick you up, because it's not going to be a quick fix. A rat probably chewed the wires overnight and I don't know why the gauges aren't working. I was blown away! I ended up getting my car a couple weeks later and it started, only to stall a block down the road. I had to tow my car from there to get it back to the west side of the valley because he couldn't figure out how to configure the aftermarket fuel injector. I am currently consulting with a legal team to bring him to small claims court and would be happy to testify on your behalf if you are in a similar situation. Definitely do not recommend.

Overall bad experience in the shop. The owner was very short and ill mannered. I came in for simple advice for 5 minutes and was shoed out. He only cares if I was going to bring in my car or not and didn't even car why I wanted to bring it in. I would like to have worked with his shop for work to my corvette but after my experience ill find somewhere else to get work done.

I bought a 82 Corvette that a guy had in storage for about 8 years the car only had 40K on it. I took it in to Bromley's and told him that it probably needed a fuel system revamp and brakes. He agreed. They clean the fuel system and put in a new fuel pump cleaned the injectors. They got the brakes working fantastic. Doug is very articulate when it comes to these cars and loves them with a passion. If you want a half ass done job, don't bring it here. He will tell you what it needs done to make your car perfect. If you want your Corvette Barrett Jackson quality, come here, if not, go to the big chain shops that work on everything from Kias to Fords.

I just purchased a 1998 C5 Corvette. It had some know issues and some unknown issues. They took it in and went through everything. They texted me photos of everything and was very honest and fair. Even sent me a video of them test driving the car. I would highly recommend them for any work on your Corvette, new or old. Items I had done were new spark plugs and wires, trans fluid, diff fluid, fixed an exhaust leak, aligned the exhaust tips, and move the rear brake lines that were rubbing on the inside of the wheels. They also cleaned up the under side of the car and painted my exhaust with a nice flat black heat resistant paint. Yes, it's not the cleanest and nicest shop in town, but they do quality work at a reasonable price.

Doug, the owner, is the most knowledgable C3 guy anywhere. I trust his wisdom over most and trust him with my '82. I had issue with car running too rich and he backed his work 100%. His conversion is the best around! Not only leaned it out but replaced fuel lines and trouble shot. It has been over a year and he still made sure she was running properly. I will never use anyone else. He does stuff right! Doing things right isn't cheap, but damn! it's right! and provides reliability over life of your car.

I took my 1982 C3 to Bromley's to have my front and rear suspensions redone. I really wanted to lower the front-end 2 inches. Doug and his team did an awesome rebuild and gave my ride the stance I wanted. Sent status pictures throughout the project and I could not be more pleased. The car handles like new. Thanks Doug

Newly rebuilt motor on it's way in!

When Greg retired and sold ADS to TGK, the changes were subtle but not necessarily for the better. Personnel changes, operational changes etc. made me somewhat suspicious. I used to know who was the manager shop, who the service writers were, even the names of the certified techs who did the work. Then TGK, through a series of ownership changes became part of Sun Auto, a huge faceless corporation that emphasizes tire sales as opposed to automotive diagnostics. You can't go online anymore and directly communicate with anyone. All you can do is go through a chatbot, and the website no longer features bios of people that might be involved in maintaining your automobile. On my last visit in September 2025, it was recommended that the engine air filter be changed. I declined this and other recommended services. Recently I encountered a P0101 code indicating that either the MAF sensor needed maintenance or the air filter was dirty. In examining these components, I discovered that the last time the car was serviced, the air filter box was damaged and reinstalled carelessly without any mention of damage on the invoice. Missing screw, parts of air filter housing damaged, loose connections were discovered. I keep meticulous maintenance records, and no one other than TGK has ever done any work related to the air filter since 2016. I think the transformation from a small, performance-centric shop (ADS) to a large corporate tire seller (Sun Auto TGK) that does auto repair on the side is enough to make me start looking elsewhere for a reliable shop to perform diagnostics without harming my vehicles.

Our car was in show like condition when it entered their facility. When we picked up it it was filthy with chipped paint on 2 panels. The white interior on driver and pax side was grey and carpets discolored. Wilhelm's auto wiped out inside for us. We contacted corporate to get our car fixed as neither Wilhelms nor TGK seemed concerned. The car was towed back to TGK in Chandler. Ryan is passing the blame on the person who originally painted the car in Oct '23. He's also saying a rock chipped the paint to metal on hood. That isn't true. We have before and after shots to prove the condition of the car. It's unacceptable that Ryan at TGK will not take responsibility or get the car back to the way it was when received. We're not asking for anything for free. Ryan lacks character to take responsibility for his actions or his workers. The radiator and radio work fantastically. For that we are pleased but the condition of the vehicle after the work is very disappointing. I would never recommend TGK or Wilhelms in Carefree. Corporate does seem to care but we have come to an impasse with this shop.

He was on time, professional, and clearly knew what he was doing. He explained everything in a way that made sense, didn't try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure the job was done right. My A/C is now blowing cold again like it should, and the car is running perfectly. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about doing a quality job. However, I am very disappointed with the level of expertise and outcome of the visit. My 2014 Jeep compass has had the check engine light on for a week, steering locked up last week, and has had delayed clicking start. Justin arrived, I gave him the full history of my vehicle (no problems for 10 years) and the issues occurring the last month or so which prompted the call. He started running tests, even drove the car around to see if he could replicate what I had been experiencing. About 30 minutes into the visit he said he couldn't replicate any of the issues; that's okay, as I mentioned it only happened about 50% of the time. But he sat in my car another 20-30 minutes or so, told me he had to call his boss because he was completely stumped. Not really what you want to hear, but even I started making suggestions of what it could be so he could at least do something for me. At the end of the visit he basically just said "sorry I have no idea what's wrong, maybe replace your battery?"... the only thing he found was a sensor on my engine needed replacement, but it's totally unrelated to the other issues. I ended up having to pay $150 for literally no better idea what's wrong with my car and not feeling any safer to drive it. It was a huge waste of my time and now I'm out $150, and I still had to take it to another shop that already figured out the problem not even 24 hours later. Save yourself some money and go to a real auto shop. I understand that some technicians may be learning or lack the knowledge to dive deeper, but someone should be going with them to assist so your customers aren't left feeling robbed and confused.
