(1 star) I brought…read moremy 2013 Honda Civic into Oakdale Automotive about 7 months ago for an air conditioning problem. After dropping the car off, I went several days with no communication. When I finally called, I was told they had ordered the wrong part. After about a week without my car, I was charged roughly $1,500 just to get the A/C blowing cold again. When I picked the car up, I immediately discovered both headlights were out. I had to replace the bulbs myself. I brought the car back and asked about it, but they weren't able to determine what caused the issue. Fast forward 7 months, and the A/C failed again. They replaced the compressor a second time. A few days later, while on a trip to the Sierras, the car suddenly lost electrical power--power steering, brakes, and multiple warning lights all came on. I was barely able to get it safely off the road in Jamestown and had to have it towed home. While preparing to replace the alternator and serpentine belt (given the mileage), I discovered several concerning issues: the main power wire to the alternator was floppy loose, the battery negative cable was not properly tightened, and a wire routing clip near the alternator wasn't secured. Since access to the A/C compressor typically involves working in that area, it raises serious concerns about the quality of the previous work. I can't say with absolute certainty what caused everything, but the timing and condition of these components make it hard to ignore. Overall, this was a frustrating and concerning experience--poor communication, repeat repairs, and workmanship issues that could have led to a dangerous situation. I would recommend others proceed with caution.

I called and spoke to John. He ordered my part immediately, and my car was done the next morning. Talk about service!!! Reasonably priced and guess what??? John took my car over to American Smog and took care of the certificate for me. That is customer service that you just absolutely do not find anywhere anymore. Since I wanted to get my DMV tags quickly, I headed straight back over to American Smog, paid my fees and got my tags right away. A couple of days later, my check engine light came on (this had nothing to do with the first fix) and I called John immediately. He said bring it back in and let's see what the problem is. He figured it out right away and I'm taking it back in this morning. It was a simple fix, and I will be back on the road in no time. John was an absolute delight, and I appreciate his honesty and his integrity. I have already told four people about how awesome these guys are at Performance Brake and Muffler. I really do admire the time & care he puts in his work! He can be busy so don't expect super fast turnaround depending on how many jobs he has on hand, but once its your turn for service he is QUICK to diagnose & have a plan in place to get you on the road! Never had any issues with his work, and the warranty on parts has always been covered and easily replaced. I can see why people could steer away due to the negative views, but don't discredit Mike's work until you come in yourself! His rescue bulldogs Dolly & Daphne are always a pleasure to see in the office & I love that his business supports animal welfare rescue groups locally! It makes me feel great spending my money at a local shop that cares about our local shelter dogs!

Fast forward to present day and we quickly found out the reason it was a good price. We were all ready to go camping when my husband discovered an issue with the DEF system. We made an appointment with the dealership and they had the truck for a month without ever contacting us with an update. They gave a diagnosis which sounded bogus to my husband so he quickly picked up the truck and made an appointment with Mike Creech. What a difference! The mechanics found old gasoline in the DEF tank which caused significant damage to the overall system. The turbo was also impacted. They replaced the damaged parts and the truck has never run better! I must admit I was a little hesitant to take the truck to Mike Creech due to the poor reviews. While I know everyone has a different opinion and situation, I can only say that we had a great experience. If there are ever any additional issues with the truck we will definitely bring it back to Mike and his team.

Savior on a Sunday evening…read more I had some tire trouble on the way back from Yosemite after 5:00pm on a Sunday (which not the greatest time to find car help). I called Mitch up, he picked up on the first try, he listened to the problem, said "Give me 5mins to check if the guys are still at the shop" and 2min later he confirmed I could go get help. Guy at the shop was expecting me when I arrived 10min after the call (since I had to drive a few miles), friendly, helped me right away. It was a minor problem, though help given when needed.

Mitch rarely answered his phone, he wouldn't text my husband for several days, and had a lack of professionalism! My husband is the most patient person I know and after 7 months of not having his truck, he had had it with this business. He finally gave Mitch a deadline because he was losing sleep over this poor service! When I took my husband to pick up his truck, Mitch wasn't even at the shop, didn't have the paperwork complete, and his part time mechanic was still working on the truck!!! We have never had such poor, inadequate service from a business! Think twice before leaving your car if you want it back promptly.
