My recent experience with Performance Auto Care left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this establishment at all costs. The incompetence and disregard for customer satisfaction I encountered was truly astounding. To begin with, the misdiagnosis of my vehicle was not only incredibly inconvenient but also deeply concerning. I brought my car to Performance Auto Care, hoping to get an accurate diagnosis and effective solution for the issue it was experiencing. Instead, they incorrectly diagnosed my vehicle and insisted on an unnecessary and exorbitantly expensive engine replacement. This was a blatant attempt to exploit unsuspecting customers for their financial gain. When I finally retrieved my vehicle, I was appalled to discover that Performance Auto Care had failed to reinstall essential engine components, including the engine cover, spark plug, and ignition coil. This negligent oversight further highlights their lack of professionalism, attention to detail, and basic competence. It is unacceptable for a supposed professional automotive service provider to neglect such crucial steps in their work. Furthermore, the error code they provided me had nothing to do with the engine, which only underscores their incompetence and lack of diagnostic proficiency. This further solidified my belief that their primary objective is to maximize their profits, even if it means misleading and deceiving customers. I took it to the dealership to seek a second opinion and a solution to my vehicle's issues. To my relief, they could accurately diagnose the problem and resolve it without needing an engine replacement. Performance Auto Care's proposed solution was completely unnecessary and purely motivated by their desire for financial gain. In light of my dreadful experience, I cannot stress enough the importance of steering clear of Performance Auto Care. Their misdiagnosis, lack of attention to detail, and manipulative practices should be red flags for potential customers. I recommend seeking a reputable and trustworthy automotive service provider that values its customers and provides accurate diagnostics and honest solutions. In conclusion, my encounter with Performance Auto Care was nothing short of a nightmare. Their misdiagnosis, failure to reinstall critical engine components, and misguided recommendations for an unnecessary engine replacement indicate their unprofessionalism and disregard for customer satisfaction. Save yourself the headache and financial burden by avoiding Performance Auto Care altogether. read more

I recently had the pleasure of taking my car to Performance Auto Care, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with their service. From the moment I walked in, Tony made me feel right at home, and their attention to detail and professionalism was evident from the start. One of the things that stood out to me the most was the quality of the treatment I received. Sammy took the time to explain everything that needed to be done to my car and answered all of my questions with patience and expertise. They went above and beyond to ensure that my car was running smoothly and safely, and I couldn't be happier with the results. In addition to the quality of their service, I was also impressed with the fair pricing at Performance Auto Care. Unlike some other auto shops that try to nickel and dime their customers, Sammy and Tony were upfront and transparent about all of the costs associated with the work they were doing, which made me feel confident in their integrity. Overall, I highly recommend Performance Auto Care to anyone looking for quality auto service. The guys at Performance Auto Care are professionals who always take the best care of their customers, and I will definitely be returning for all of my future car needs. Thanks, guys! read more

There are literally over a hundred options in Escondido to get your cae serviced. I've been to quite a few of them over the years. Performance Auto Care & Tune Up is my favorite! The manager Tony is a super nice guy....and has never tried to sell me or my wife on any product or service we dont need. Their maintenence is quality! The pricing is very reasonable, and it has been my experience that they reward repeat business. Because of all these reasons, they are my first choice when it comes to servicing all three of my vehicles including my F350 Diesel. The store is clean, bathroom is clean, and always has a Keurig with k-cups ready. The best part is that they bend over backwards to accommodate people with busy schedules. Still, I'd call ahead for an appointment because they are popular and thus - busy. They offer a grest range of services and if you happen to require a car service that will take a bit to get done, Lourdes Mexican Food is right next door in the Shell station and you can get some quality grubbing on while you wait. read more

Mechanics are professional and skilled, and FRIENDLY and HELPFUL! My car suddenly had some unknown engine issues when I was driving back to Los Angeles. I was told it might take at least two hours for the diagnosis. Concerned, scared of being in somewhere I don't even know, I became really anxious, keeping asking mechanics what should I do. They comforted me to have a sit, and had a professional check my car real quick. I only waited for around 30 minutes in total then they told me that I was good to go. Problem fixed and I could make my way back to L.A.! Isn't it magic? Oh, they also explained how to maintain the car and everything else to me. So, definitely recommend there if you do want your car out of trouble! read more

I stumbled on this Auto shop about a year and a half ago. They are next to the Shell station. I figured what ever they were going to charge was going to be cheaper then a tow to the guy I was using at the time. There I met Sammy and was given better prices. They have never over charged me or tried to get me to have work done that wasn't really needed. They have been fair honest and told me if the work is needed right then or if I have a little wiggle room in when stuff got done. I suggest calling ahead of time and making an appointment to get your car in. I think word has gotten out about how good these guys are. Oh don't forget they Warrenty their work for two years or 24,000 miles on most things they do. read more

I brought my car here because it broke down on me on the freeway. Not knowing what the real issue behind it was, Tony and his team were quick to find out the problems. Unfortunately for me they were costly issues the car had (engine problems), but Tony was able to reassure me that he would get me the best price and parts he could find. Even searching on his days off in order to get it done, you cant find service like that anymore. I was happy with my experience with Tony and his team, they worked fast and got my car working again! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that is having issues with their vehicles and need a reliable mechanic in todays world. read more

I had the privilege of having my car serviced here after having horrible service at the dealer I purchased my new car from. As a single woman not knowing anything about cars afraid of getting ripped off by a mechanic here are Sammy, Tony and the entire staff. They did an amazing job making sure everything in my car was up to date they really left me with a peace of mind knowing I wasn't gonna get ripped off and I am a very satisfied customer. Friendly and very Trusting!!!!! I will definitely be coming back with the entire family and friends! Thank you Performance Auto Care for your services! Greatly appreciated especially around this time of year. read more

I showed up Friday afternoon with a check engine light that had gone from steady to blinking. I had a serious problem and it was stressing me out. Tony slid me in and found the problem. I needed a valve job but they also took care of a few other problems while they had it apart. They looked for the underlying problems and fixed those as well. The amount of work I needed kept my truck over the weekend, but they got me back in my truck by lunch time on Monday. Tony is supper easy going. Not pushy but welcoming. I felt at home and relaxed. definitely my new guy. My truck got all of my lost power back! read more

This place had the quickest and best service in town. Mike was very helpful. before coming here I had my check engine light on, I went to a Mechanic shop that was charging me 500 to fix it, saying I need a new Canister Purge Valve. I was recommended to go to Performance Auto from a friend, so they diagnosed the problem fix everything under 200. They where honest, not overly pricey, and the best part is that the Check engine never turned on again. I highly Recommend people to get their car fixed at Performance Auto Care. read more

The first time I walked up I was helped immediately. The manager Tony was very respectful and reasonable. Gave me straight information and fast service. While I waited I got to watch a cool movie and enjoy some free coffee. I would recommend this shop 10 times over and if anyone ever asks me I'll let them know Performance Auto Care is the place to go. I've had my oil changed, brakes done and they even fixed my transmission when it started going out. Great shop and even greater people. read more

Tony and Sammy and all the techs are very friendly and helpful. Triple A recommended them to me. They installed a new engine for me within a week. I have had other work done as well and each time they are fast and up front with all pricing and work. My accelerator cable was stretched and jumping off, they adjusted it for free and didn't tell me I had to buy a new one. I bought one myself and they put it on. Every time I need something they are there. Not going anywhere else! read more

Was looking around for a place around Escondido to do the Smog Check to my car, i usually go all the way over there at SY but I came here just to ask the price and how long would it take, and they help me alot because I had some questions. They give a very nice costumer service, and is fast they did have some other cars infront of me and it took less that 30min perfect for me because i needed to go back to work Im planning on coming back here for my regular car maintenance read more

TONY helped me out a lot. I recently replaced my brittle body sensor on my 2011 Silverado but it did not go through the idle relearn procedure. I was running a little low on funds and really needed my daily commuter back up and running,he fixed it in less than 30 minutes and was literally refusing to charge me anything because it was easy for him. I recommend these guys people who aren't out to get every dollar for you but want to help us dads out there get shit done read more

Honestly the most trust worthy mechanics I've ever been to. Went the first time to get my brakes done and quoted 4 to 500 and I talked to Sammy and got it all done for 2/3s that. Just recently got my clutch replaced and got it done for less than 1/2 the other quotes. It's truly hard to find a place that isn't going to sell you and stuff you don't need. And if you do need additional they just say come back when you can. If I could give 10 stars I would. read more

The service here is amazing! The workers are professional and the manager is extremely helpful and courteous. I had my breaks and rotors changed and the prices were fair. I have also had other body work done there. I have always had outstanding service and will continue using their services. I don't post to yelp very often, but felt compelled to do so after my last visit with this business. I highly recommend Performance Auto Care! read more

Tony and the team really took care of me today. They were friendly, professional, and really know their stuff when it comes to auto care. They even went the extra mile to help make sure that my tire pressure was right, and that my sensors would read correctly. Both needed adjusting and I'm so glad they were there to help. Thanks again for your time and your efforts today Tony, I'll be sure to see you again for the next tune up! read more

I have an an entry level Lexus Sports car, and really get tired of topping 100 bucks for an oil change at Jiffy Lube, I decided to try Performance Auto instead, Tony at the front desk immediately set me up with an appointment the following day. He let me know it was going to be about a 40 minute wait, but they had me out in 30! Excellent customer service, excellent timing. I will definitely be back for any maintenance needs. read more

My car completely died yesterday. Had it towed to Performance Auto. Tony quickly assessed the problem. Since it was Sunday we needed to wait until Monday to get parts we may need. Tony called early Monday with great news that my car was ready and they just had to replace battery terminal. Tony provided quick and reliable service. Thank you Tony and Performance Auto Care. Going back Friday for routine oil change. read more
