8/19/26 12:38pm I've been using discount tire for the last 10 years and have always felt appreciated as a customer until today. I went in for a simple flat tire fix. The sales associate was very friendly. Said my estimate time would be 1:56pm for my tire to be fixed. Tell me why I look at the clock at 1:50pm and my car hasn't moved in the parking lot and my tire hasn't been fixed. I go to the counter and ask about my tire. The sales guy says that since "appointments have been checked in that I've been pushed back" , I say I'm not able to wait all day for my tire to be fixed due to my baby getting tired, the sales guy says well I can make you an appointment for ANOTHER DAY, I go I'm not leaving until my tire is fixed- bc what do you mean I've already been waiting for an HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES and nothing has been fixed. The other sales associate tells him to prioritize my tire and apologized. I wait another ten minutes and ask the sales associate to explain the estimated time, he goes well "that time was an estimate when you got here but since we check in appointments you get pushed back"... I look out the window and the two sales associates are fixing and changing my tire in the parking lot twenty minutes later. I can only imagine that if I hadn't created a fuss how much longer I would have had to wait. Either you need to have a sign on the door saying you don't take walk ins or you need to be upfront about the time it takes for you to fix a damn flat tire. I'm sorry but as a walk in customer I am still a CUSTOMER. Stop prioritizing a customer who's made an appointment hours later in the day when you have people checked in and waiting for their tires to be done. Discount tire cannot be found reliable anymore. Tis a shame. read more

I needed to replace two Arizonian tires due to tread wear, having had the other two replaced six months earlier. The quoted price was around $345 and while looking my original 4-tire receipt on their screen, I saw the warranty was for 55,000 miles. I only got around 40,000 even though the tires were rotated every 5,000 miles and I'm not an aggressive driver. So I asked about the warranty and after the rep did some calculations, a credit was applied reducing the cost to $254. This made me wonder: 1. Was the rep not trained properly to notice such obvious issues? 2. Was the rep trained and incented to avoid warranty credits? 3. With their modern POS/CRM system, why is there no function built into the quote workflow to simply check the difference between the achieved mileage and warranty mileage? Arizonian tires are manfactured as a private label brand for Discount Tire by Cooper Tires, which is owned by Goodyear. So the cost of warranty claims must at least partially be borne by Discount Tire themselves. The sales staff at Discount Tire are not paid a commission, but there are bonuses that store managers can receive based on store metrics. I'm sure a key metric is profit margin, which is reduced by warranty claims. The sales staff will of course strive to please their managers. There are also corporate metrics wherby frontline employees are measured on key performance indicators, such as attach rates for add-ons (e.g., lug nut kits, wiper blades) and I strongly suspect minimized warranty claims. So the fact that the rep didn't automatically look at the mileage achived vs. the warranty, and their POS quote function does not automatically check, it's an intentional tactic to extract excessive money from the customer. BTW, except for the mileage the tires are excellent and a great value! read more

Thanks so much for the fast and caring approach to customer service at all Discount Tires I go. I had used them o In San Jose, in Poway and today in Escondido. My car was shaking in the freeway and went there for a quick inspection and then the showed me my tires needed to be replaced. I received an excellent service even though I went pretty later, almost time to close. They were still helping customers. Clean waiting room with access to coffee and water. Clean bathrooms and very spacious place so plenty of parking and easy to get in and out. read more

I want to give Justin a well-deserved 5-star review! This young man went above and beyond to keep his customers safe. I took my Lexus for a quick air check, and it turned out I needed lug nuts for all four tires. Since I had purchased all four new tires just a few months ago, Justin took the time to review my records and noticed this had been missed. He made sure it was taken care of at no cost to me because I had recently purchased the tires there. What a great young man -- super nice, professional, and genuinely concerned about customer safety. Thank you, Justin, for going the extra mile and doing the right thing! Keep up the great work! read more

My family's car had a blow out right in the middle of the freeway. We pulled over, assessed the situation and had it towed to the nearest tire shop. They did a very good job and a very quick one to for a busy shop. All it took was an hour, maybe even less. Thanks to them we were able to get back on the road and keep on with our trip. read more

We came here to change all 4 tires on an old AWD after one went flat. They were quick, understanding and professional. They have good prices on their tires here, too. They turned what could have been a really bad day into a minor inconvenience and our car was back on the road in no time. read more

I know they're busy because the other Escondido location is closed for construction, but never will go back to this location again. EVER! We had an appointment last time and did this time too, but they don't honor it and take anyone else before you. Last time...after seeing this happening again and again & waiting over 25 minutes after our appointment time, finally got to speak to a person working there to complain. Then, our car was taken in next. This time after checking in, were told our wait would still be an hour (again because they don't honor appointment times and take anyone in regardless and serve them 1st). Not gonna happen so we said cancel us and walked back to our car only to find a truck parked directly behind our car and another car right in front of that one (they had stacked & parked cars in between both rows of parking spaces blocking anyone from being able to leave in the whole row)! Walked back to the office asking who's truck that is and can you move it? No one responded. Walked back to our car trying to find anyone who might own it. Nothing. Went back into the office yelling whosever truck this is, move your truck! Turned out it was a car who's person dropped it off and it was the employees who parked it there. They finally found the keys to it and after waiting 40 minutes to leave, were able to get the freaking out of there! Went to the San Marcos Discount Tire after setting an appointment and they DO honor appointment times and I was in and done in 20 minutes! read more

Professional and fast! Easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Had a unique situation for a 1958 Ford Fairlane and they nailed it!

This location has been servicing my vehicles for years. Prices are competitive and products are available in a timely manner. What's really a blessing, especially these days, is the consistency in above standard customer service. No judgment whether your driving an old clunker that needs budget tires, or a foreign supercar, everybody gets treated very well. Kudos to management adopting these policies. Finally, today's shoutout goes to a young man named Adam D. He takes his time, thoroughly explaining any problems, options etc when determining the best recommendation for the customer. He's a great asset. Will return and recommend this Discount Tire location without hesitation. read more

I had the most incredible experience at Discount Tire in Escondido and feel so grateful to have met Jaime, the office manager. After driving through a construction zone near my home, I ended up with two punctured tires -- one from a screw that couldn't be repaired, and another from a nail. I was already having a tough month financially, with unexpected bills piling up, and to hear I actually needed all four tires replaced was overwhelming. I explained to the gentleman helping me that I could only afford to replace the one that couldn't be fixed, and I mentioned that my daughter is currently battling breast cancer, so things have been tight. About 15 minutes later, Jaime came out from behind the counter, sat down next to me, and said he had overheard my situation. To my absolute surprise, he offered to put three brand-new tires on my car at no charge. I don't cry easily, but I couldn't hold back the tears. I stood up, and asked if I could give him a hug. It was one of those life moments I'll never forget. Jaime reminded me that there are still wonderful, compassionate people in this world, and I truly needed that reminder. He told me that Discount Tire didn't become what it is just by selling great tires, but because its founder cared about people -- even starting a tradition of fixing flats at no charge. Jaime absolutely embodies that mission. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you, Jaime, and thank you, Discount Tire, for showing such kindness when I needed it most. You've earned a customer for life. read more

Don't go to this location unless you absolutely have no other options. They upsell aggressively and take substantially longer than any other shop. 1.5 hours to check a flat with an appointment is simply bad service. ETA: Followed the link from Customer Service to the "Customer Survey Form," but there is no actual survey, it just takes my name, phone, and email--the same information I provided for my overlooked appointment. More stellar service. read more

I will be a customer to Discount Tire for as long as I still have the ability to drive. Even then, I'll keep going "Hey, I know a place that can help you with that." This is by far the worst experience I have ever had at a discount tire center. I had an appointment at 11:45am for a tire rotation. I arrived at 11:35am. I stood in line for over 10 minutes and the person that was supposed to help me told me to check in and sit down. I sat down for another 20 minutes and other people that arrived after me were getting helped and I was just sitting there. I then approached an employee and let him know. He told me that he was already helping someone that just came in. I said I've been here over 30 minutes with an appointment. He told me I just needed to wait. I then stated I have an appointment and it was at 11:45am. Seriously is this the way you really run a business? Yeah, you take my money for new tires when I purchase them, but once I come in for a rotation you can't help me? Seriously this is not the right way to run a business. Why would you even treat a paying customer like this. You need better management and better employees that are willing to help customers. This is just ridiculous. read more

Samuel was outstanding today. I intentionally bought my tires here because I have a 5th gen 4runner that notoriously can get a little shimmy in the 60mph range unless the tires are near perfectly balanced. Most of the time this takes Road Force balancing them. However, the previous two tire rotations whoever I dealt with each time, told me they could not do Road Force as it was only for when the tires are brand new... I knew this was not true because for the life of this vehicle pretty much every other rotation, I had to get them Road Force balanced. Hence just buying the tires this time at discount tire because they have the machine.... Yet the last 3 rotations (which means 15,000 miles!) they would not use the machine, even though I requested it, and so I had the shimmy... Samuel was extremely polite and said he would take care of it . Then the tech let me know that two of the four tires were out of range so they did indeed use Road Force - and thank God no shimmy!! Also, previously somebody told me the copping on the tires was terrible and like I would need new tires even though they only have 20 K miles on them... Samuel was honest with me that the cupping was not that bad. Samuel deserves some recognition for resolving my shimmy finally... read more

I used to be okay with this discount tire but after having wheels installed with them that's the problems started. First off when I ordered the tires they wanted to confirm everything with me but I always have my phone on DND at work so every time someone calls it goes straight to voicemail but I did confirm everything later. They called me again to say that the everything came in earlier than expected if I wanted to install the tires a week earlier. I was like great let's do it. So they install the tires but tell me that only 1 of the 4 hub rings was installed so the ride might feel a little shakey and yes it indeed does. Told me they were going to order them have the rest installed. A week goes by and nothing. I stopped it asked another guy about the hub rings looks like the first guy never ordered them. Well great, guy helping I watch him order them and says they should get here in about a week. Call this past Monday it's been delayed. Okay fine I get that but this is now going on week 2 and still nothing with the rings but I've had the wheels and tires installed for about a month already. Debating if another location can order if they don't have them and install them. Stay away from this location read more

I used to trust discount tires and have been buying tires from them for all of our cars for over 15 years. That stops today! Brought my car in because my right front tire was losing air every 24 hours. I got tired putting air in it every day so brought it to Discount Tire in hopes they could put a plug in the tire. They kept my car for over 3 hours and said they fixed it. Went home and came out the next day to a flat tire. Called Discount Tire and they said it would a 3 hour wait. I didn't have time that day, so later in the week I went over and talked with a different tech. Without looking at the tire, he said the only option was to replace it, but since I only had 8K miles on these tire I would get a lot of credit for it. I spent another $175 on the new tire and installation. Of course they had to order the tire and said they would call when it came in. Waited around all day on Monday and the call never came. Finally called them around 2pm only to be told the tire had come in at 10am. I told them I would be there the next day. They install the tire, I go home and when i come out the next day...the tire is flat. I head back to Discount Tire and deal with the same tech who takes my wheel off and comes back to tell me I have a cracked wheel (thank you San Diego pot holes!). I asked why they didn't see this the first time because obliviously they did not put a plug in my tire when they supposedly fixed it. He said he was unable to tell what was done....OBLIVIOUSLY NOTHING WAS DONE THE FIRST TIME! I told them I wanted my original tire back, but they said it was long gone. They would take this tire back and give me my $175 back which I thought was just asinine. You take my perfectly good tire, have me make multiple trips to your store in not the best part of town, then want me to take my money and be on my way without a tire? These guys are crooks....the manager came out and told me the reason they replaced my tire in the first place was because I had driven on it (its a run flat), and it was ruined. I asked him where in your notes does it say anything like that and if that was the case, why didn't you replace it the first time I was there???? Needless to say, I will not spend another $$$ here. I have a brand new tire and about 12 lost hours that I will never get back from these idiots. The money I thought I was saving in the past is not worth the frustration of dealing with CROOKS! read more

I arrived a little early and noticed the staff in a morning meeting. The moment the clock struck eight, the entire team started working like a well-tuned machine--it was unbelievable to watch everyone in different bays moving with such focus and efficiency. When it was my turn, I needed a simple stem replacement. They took care of it for free and in a very timely manner. They got me out of there as quickly as possible, which I really appreciated since I had other things to do. On top of that, JOSE M went above and beyond. He explained that the tire I brought in was too old--even though it still looked good--and offered to give me another tire so I could safely move my car from point A to point B. That kind of honesty and care is rare. They truly treated me like family, and from now on I'll treat them like my own. I needed a new front tire as my original tire had a nail in it. The first time I went in they told me that they could possibly patch it at no cost to me. That didn't end up being the case and so I left the store with my spare on meanwhile, I figured out what to do. The next day I returned to purchase a new tire, Josh presented me with a few options & I chose the best option for me, which also wasn't too pricey.. Not only was the customer service great (AGAIN), but they got me out of there in less than 30 minutes. I'm loving these guys. Been buying tires from Discount stores for years. The staff at this particular store is terrific. Cody helped me yesterday --- he's smart and as courteous as can be. I returned today for our replacement tires and tire rotation. Josh is taking care of everything. Josh is also wonderful---very knowledgeable, genuine and courteous. By the grace of God I'd bought their tire warranty when buying these tires last time around. Accidentally walloped my wheel against a curb and the tire (did to my own clumsiness) was totaled. Thanks to their tire warranty it's costing us exactly $0 to replace our curb destroyed tire with a brand new one. The left front tire has worn its tread to the point that it needs to be replaced. They're replacing it today with a new one---same brand, style and item number---AND they're crediting this purchase with a discount reflecting the amount of wear they'd projected these tires to withstand. By chance, I remembered our AAA membership and asked if AAA offers a further discount. Josh didn't flinch. He cheerfully answered, "Oh yes! AAA will save you an additional $20!" They're now rotating our tires for free. Bonus Tips: * Call in or go online to make an appointment. This will get you in and out again more quickly. * ALWAYS spring for the tire warranty. * if you're a member of AAA be sure to tell them. read more

I came here to get new tires and have my spare replaced. While I received the new tires, the team initially forgot to replace my spare, which was stuck in the back of my trunk. Jorge went above and beyond, not only helping me swap out the spare but also offering to remove the old one that was stuck. He grabbed some tools, and when he needed assistance, his coworker Marco jumped in without hesitation. Marco quickly freed the spare, and both employees were incredibly kind, patient, and eager to help--without a single complaint.
