I came to Discount Tire in Escondido with a wheel issue on my Mercedes AMG, and my first experience honestly wasn't great, which was frustrating. But manager Nick stepped in and completely turned things around. Nick took the time to understand the problem and made it right by installing two brand-new rear tires that are honestly perfect for this car. These are sporty, modern, high-end tires. This is my 2nd time visiting a discount tire (first time at this location). I was driving north towards Hemet area when i got a tire pressure warning. I am the worst when it comes to car stuff. I dont know how to put air in the tire or what buttons to push to make the fog go away lol. I know i should learn, and i will work on that. I remember my first visit at another discount tire and they helped me greatly. I was hoping they could help me again. I looked up tje closest location off the highway and i pulled up in line for the air check. Belen helped me a lot and helped me where to look for the right air pressure if i was ever at a gas station. He filled my tires for me and explained why the pressure went low, etc. he didnt mansplain to make me feel dumb, but rather, helped educate me on how to figure it out. I appreciated that. He was very helpful and sent me on my way back up north. I will definitely get my new tires at a discount tire when it comes time to replace them. Thank you for taking care of me! read more

They have a scam policy where they won't patch a tire that has been previously patched, even if the patches aren't near each other. This is because they want to upsell tires at every opportunity. UPDATE - I am putting this at the top of the review so that new readers see the update first and learn from my haste. I want to share a quick story about why I usually wait a couple days before writing a review. I run a small company, I appreciate the benefit of the doubt when it comes to customer service issues. I often say that every company has customer service issues on occasion - which leads me to the saying - Judge the company on their response to the issue, not JUST the issue. The manager at this store called me and we went over the details of the incident leading to my writeup below. Suffice to say, I was a bit trigger happy and upon speaking with the manager we got the entire story. I was being defensive as I have spent the better part of 5 years battling the fleecing of my elderly parents. It is constant here in California. If someone can make a buck, they try too. To correct the review - 3 tires were blown out and the store couldn't match the remaining 4th tire without a long wait. My father was presented with the option to order 3 matched tires at no charge (due to road hazard insurance) and BUY 1 new matching tire to eliminate running a mis-matched set of 4 (3 new matched tires and and odd ball tire as the 4th). The manager called me (that was a surprise). Thankfully, I was over my emotional response and we had a nice, calm conversation. All is good now, we are getting 4 new run flats and probably some wheels. I revised my rating to 4 star and will revise again when we have the car back. Wait 48 hours before writing a review - Just a company on their response to an issue not just the issue. We all make mistakes, we all fall short at times and we all appreciate a chance to make it right. ------------------------------------- OLD REVIEW My 92 year old father took his high end car into this shop b/c he hit a curb and ruptured 2 tires. I purchased the tires, new, from another near by discount tire 6 months earlier. We purchased the road hazard insurance for all tires. Upon arriving today, my father told them we had insurance on the tires. They went to the back room and came back and said there is no record of insurance. They then found an abrasion on the 3rd tire and then told him that the 4th tire should also be replaced for 'safety reasons'. They charged his card for all 4 tires. This is plain B.S. The car is now stranded at the shop until Monday (dropped off Saturday). I am half tempted to call the local news to return with me, his son, and ask about the insurance and why a 6 month old 4th tire needs to be replaced. Out of principal, I am going to have the car towed and re-evaluated at by best friends shop. We will film the entire event and hopefully have the local news present. This kind of predatory behavior needs to stop. I hope someone at corporate gets this message this weekend and replies. I would like to speak with someone at HQ. read more

Thinking this offer would be too good to be true, at first. To my surprise, I started receiving emails of when it was time for these services to be completed. I have their app, so making an appointment is easy(er) than not having an appointment (Walk-In). The appointment line is generally a lot shorter than Walk-In, so I highly suggest always making an appointment, when possible. They were about $200 each but we found them much cheaper on Amazon, they price matched them, they ordered them because they weren't in stock, I just had to give them a small deposit before they ordered them and a few days later, they called me that tires were delivered and I could come & get my old ones replaced, total was less than $800, $100 for installation. Today I had an appointment 10:30 am arranged a week ago. I arrived 10:15 am to get both rear tires changed. I was greeted by a guy in red shirt who looks and sounds like he does not want to be there (very poor customer service) At 11:10am Discount tires automated texted me that my car is done. I was waiting outside and I can see my car few feet away from me still without both rear tires. I went inside and the guy behind the counter said that they don't have my tires and they are getting it from another store. (No one informed me about that). After 15 minutes, I talked to another guy who seemed helpful but I sensed the tire techs do not listen to him. 12:00noon I took a picture of my car still no rear tires but there were 5 to 6 cars that already left and I was there before them. A guy in red polo shirt ( the helpful one behind the counter, tall, thin) installed my tires himself and was done in few minutes. He is the only one concerned, cared, and actually does his job well. So basically the tire technicians do not want to be told by the manager and if it so happen it's your car, you'll be sorry! As I observed the insubordination, unprofessionalism and manipulation of the tire technicians are really bad for discount tires business at the expense of paying customers like me I hope the owner and higher manager will do something about that. read more

Back again to have my tires fixed. Funny thing is my right fear tire is leaking air again...anyway, I trust discount tire so the first thing is get my tire fixed here. I got an appointment online for 12:45pm. Turned out I booked the wrong store... But Juan was nice and the store is not too busy so he got me in as a walk-in. There's a check in station at the front outside of the store but the time I visit, there's nobody there so I walked in the store. There are signs that said if you need mask, they will provide one. There are also hand sanitizer by the door. I ended up getting two new tires for the front because they were at the yellow danger zone of tires. Juan estimated the finish time to be an hour from check in. They set up a outdoor tent as waiting station. It's nice to be able to sit in the shade and watch the progress. You can see the technician fixing the tires were not wearing masks. So I am going to wipe everything down inside the car after it's fixed. read more

This review is mainly for Belen and the other staff also did a good job as well. I came in yesterday to get my tires rotated and a few minutes after I left, a screw punctured one of my tires. I immediately called DT and spoke with Belen and he calmed my nerves and told me to bring it back in. When I arrived, he took my car back right away and put on a spare for me. After the little accident I had, this was a seamless transition to get me back on the road again. The next day he called and said he had my tire in. Once again, I arrived and he took it upon himself to take care of me right away. The service here is great, even though, they seem to be swamped all the time. I was impressed yesterday with how the staff handled themselves with a huge line. Someone got frustrated and this one employee, don't remember his name, calmed the situation and was extremely understanding. I know this is a service business but you can't take for granted the people that are able to handle frustrated and unruly customers. I will happily bring my car back here and will tell others that this is a great Discount Tire to bring your car to. read more

I purchased four new tires in late summer 2023. After two months I had to add air to my tires which my mechanic said was not normal. I just figured they didn't put enough air in my tires when installing. Every two to three months I am putting air in my tires. It is obvious these tires were not sealed properly. I don't know if they had a totally incompetent person working there or they didn't like the fact that I didn't want to spend an addition $100 for their certificates.
