WHERE DO YOU GO WHEN IT'S RAINING, you don't know the city, and AAA AIRED YOUR FLAT TIRE UP ENOUGH TO GET TO A SHOP? Worst day ever! I was in a hurry and ran in and out of UPS, but it was raining pretty hard that morning, and the streets were flooded, so only God knew what was in those puddles I had to drive through! I was going to work and thought I had just enough time to run an errand. I came out to find my flipping tire flatter than a pancake! AAA had already left, and I was Yelping somewhere to get this tire looked at and found this little family shop. My husband has a mobile tire shop in Mexico but I was too far from home for that but glad there was a shop within 2 miles...I circled the block a few times before I found it (small sign) but once I got there I was just happy to be where they could get it fixed. It's a small family shop, and the young man that came out to greet me at my car was very friendly and got me right in! He brought a big jack over and worked through the rain right in the parking spot! Tire off, 4-inch screw pulled out and patched right up within 45 minutes, and I was on my way! Friendly, knowledgeable, quick, and didn't break the bank! Thanked the young man, tipped him a little extra for slugging it out in the rain, and I was on my way to work! I'd give them 5/5, and if I'm in Escondido again and need tire service, I'll come here, for sure! read more

If "Shorty", Raul Ramirez, the owner and his incompetent staff had been even the least bit accommodating for all the problems they caused in my car and all the time I wasted, returning to fix the problems they created, I would not be leaving this negative review. I brought my car in to get new tires on the recommendation of my brother. The reviews seemed fine so I decided to go in. He offered to do my brakes and my oil change for a decent price so I went for it. Worst decision I could've made. After I left the shop my left front tire was grinding and screeching and I was scared while I was driving. As his shop was 25 minutes away I had to wait until the next day to bring it back in to be looked at. So the next day, I brought it in, waited 3 hours while he repaired the "screeching" and I left. The next morning I woke up to a huge oil spill in my driveway and I sent him photos right away. He said bring it back in. So I drove again for 25 minutes and waited another three hours while they fixed "the problem" with the oil, saying his worker forgot to replace one of the parts. He was very kind and said he was sorry his worker was "lazy" and blamed him for always looking at his phone and not paying attention. He apologized and said he was gonna have a talk with him too, and give the worker a hard time for not doing a good job. I found out later, this was his son who he was clearly throwing under the bus! I went back home and the screeching in my front left brake had turned into a clanging and rattling that I also texted him about. He said to bring it back in again! Fourth time! I brought it back in and he said the problem was not the brakes but the engine mount and it was going to cost $1000! He took a video and he said it had nothing to do with the brakes. at this point, I was completely frustrated and disturbed so I brought the car it to a whole new car place. They took a look at it for 20 minutes. They said it was missing the front left brake spring and the springs in the back brakes were not properly installed. He fixed it and charged me $75 for labor and diagnostic and $12 for the parts. I called "Shorty" back, who said that nothing was his fault, the brakes were fine, the oil spill on my driveway was there before I did the oil change, even though he had accepted responsibility for it and fixed the oil problem earlier! He hung up on me after denying any culpability. I hate leaving bad reviews and I hate getting legal, but I will be working with with my lawyer to remedy this awful experience, posting negative reviews warning others about him and lodging a complaint with the automotive board. This was an absolutely horrific experience and I would stay far away and MAYBE only get tires replaced. But from other buried low star reviews I've read here that could also be a little sketchy. Would leave a ZERO star review if possible. RUN!! read more

I usually enjoy coming here because everyone is very nice and communicates clearly. However, the son is extremely rude and has trouble understanding what you're trying to explain. He gets upset quickly and shifts the blame onto you. The only reason I will continue coming is because the owner is so kind, communicates well, and even advised me to ignore him. I just don't understand why they would have someone like that working here. I come here all the time to get my tires changed and unfortunately this was the time I had to encounter with him. The service is always good and affordable! I just don't think it's a good ideas having people working here tbh at don't know information, the girl that works here and the brother both told me I can get a vehicle inspection and sign forms well they can't and I called twice and asked when I got here and all times they said yes until today they said no they can't. The girl that answers the phone seems lost and niknowledgeable they should hire someone that knows the correct information. read more

These guys are great. Gone in with a flat (2 different cars) and they have been super accommodating. First time they repaired the tire and I walked out paying less than the quote. The second time the hole was on the wall of the tire and couldn't be repaired so I had to get a new tire. They didn't try to sell me four tires... which was great! The night before my visit to Shorty's Tire Shop in Escondido, I noticed a tear in the sidewall of my front passenger tire while putting air in my front driver-side tire, which had a nail in it. After reading the great reviews from other customers, I decided to give Shorty's a shot. I'm glad that I did. First thing the next morning, I headed over to Shorty's, and they were able to assist me right away. In less than an hour, I had two new front tires installed, and the cost was far less than what a commercial chain shop would have charged. Carlos was the person who assisted me from start to finish. His recommendation, friendliness, and overall customer service were outstanding. The quality of work was also top-notch! This was my first visit to this shop, it's a bit hard to spot right away, as the sign is surrounded by others and it's in the back area of this industrial park type area. I was given an initial quote very quickly, and I also was able to save a few bucks paying in cash so I did leave and come back for service. They got me back on the road very quickly, and Raul was very kind to me while I waited. Their price was very fair and about $40 less than a big box place. I would definitely return. I dread going to corporate tire stores, because they always push extras like signing up for a service package, or a paid warranty, or telling you to buy four new tires when you only need one. At Shorty's I got a quick and easy patch for my flat tire, no attempt to add on any unnecessary extras, and I think it cost a whopping $16. Would have been even less if I had paid cash. My mother needed two used tires for her suv, she needed two 225/50r17. I had called because this was unexpected and wanted to know a price. I had called a second time because the first time i was forgotten of and left on hold for 15min. The second guy i spoke to who was a younger aged dude said 50 a tire for cash or 60 to use a card. I gave him my name and told him I'd be there soon. When my mom arrives with cash they give her a different price. It would be nice if all the workers were on the same page when it comes to pricing.. helps customers know in case unexpected uh it's happen. It's frustrating when it happens and hopefully they can all come to agreement when they price their work. read more
