A-Mazing!!! So, WOMEN, listen up! You know how when you FINALLY get divorced and it is time to…read morefind a better place to live because you have finally recovered from the financial disaster (not to mention emotional wear) that was your marriage? And you're frantically trying to find the right movers and you have aggressive sales people calling you from moving companies and NO ONE is really paying attention to your situation and you feel like you are just talking to con man after con woman? That was me. Finally, after receiving the most outrageous quotes for minimal service, I took a couple days off from the hunt. Then, I realized that very good friends of mine had moved twice in the last ten years. I gave them a call. "Do we have a mover??!! Margret, look NO FURTHER. Call Moving the Right Way! Tell them we sent you." I did. People, this call made me weep with joy. Someone was paying attention to me, making note of special situations - i.e. furniture that needed disassembly and re-assembly, the lay out of the place I was leaving vs. the layout of the place I was going. I had a list of items and dimensions. THEY WERE INTERESTED IN THAT INFORMATION!! What a concept!! The day of the move, I was not quite ready. I have a special needs, highly functioning, adult child who just got stuck when it came to completing the packing of her things. AND, I had collapsed with exhaustion before finishing packing the worst room - the kitchen. Sure, I paid a little extra for the help - totally fair, but I got serious help! I got SIX GUYS!! SIX of them. Seven hours that stretched into 8.5 hours because I was not quite ready, a big truck and they moved my 2-bedroom from one side of town to a far nicer side of town. These guys felt like my beloved big strong conscientious cousins had come to rescue me from a crummy place and transport me to a place more appropriate for a working mother and daughter. Seriously, they felt like family almost immediately. No one bumped a wall with anything whatsoever in either place. No one was obsessed with their phone. NO ONE took a smoke break! AND the guy who disassembled my massive California King captain's bed (with storage) discovered that that my ex-spouse had drunkenly put it together and actually caused damage to the structure. Look, I was in survival mode for so many years, I just thought it was a cheap Wayfair bed and it was always going to creak like that when I got in it and when I got out of it. Whattaya gonna do? One day, I will afford a good new one. Nope, the mover FIXED the bed. Meticulously examined and fixed every faulty joint in the structure. He had the tools at the ready and the right screws, nuts, bolts, whatever. No more lying awake at night thinking, This bed is gonna collapse; I hope I survive that. The bed now makes no sound whatsoever when i get in it or out of it and not even when I cheer on my favorite shows on t.v. and bounce around with enthusiasm. NO SOUND!!! There was a challenge to get my couch out of the old place - had to go through a first story window because it could not get through the door. My new place was on a second story. I knew I might have to give up the couch, but the movers were talking to one another - AS THEY CONTINUED TO MOVE OTHER STUFF - working out how they might get it in. They weren't standing around wasting time, they were talking and working at the same time. I'm a midwest girl, so I was busy arranging and moving about what the guys were bringing in. And then, all of a sudden, the couch - my prized possession; a hand-me-down ABC Carpet feather-stuffed chocolate velvet beauty - was being hoisted through the window. They didn't bump the building, the window frame --- no problems at all. It came in like butter. I was delighted!!! The guys asked questions when needed and yet they had wonderful instincts as well. NOTHING was lost, mishandled, ignored. There was laughter and there was focus. I tipped every single one of them in cash and they absolutely deserved it. It was only a little bit more than the estimate because I was not quite ready when they came, but it still was a way better price and FAR MORE careful and efficient service than the other companies were offering. I was in EXCELLENT hands the whole day. Don't look any further. These are your guys. Even the management company here at my new property were in absolute AWE with the efficiency of these movers. My only regret is that I didn't think to stock sodas and snacks for them. They absolutely deserved refreshments at the end of the day as they were putting in overtime for me. The best, the best, the BEST!!! You will be thrilled with the results. It's like every single one of them went to some kind of academy to learn "Sorcery of Moving." The skill level is astounding. Get your peace of mind back, Ladies. Hire your pseudo-cousins at Moving the Right Way. They totally get you. They have your back. They are thorough.

They were careful with my items and thoughtful in how they set things up in the new place. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my family and friends.

Yesterday was packing day. The experienced crew, led by Pete, took about 5 hours to pack the house…read more This crew worked mostly international moved, so we were lucky to have them pack our stuff! We received quotes from United, Allied, Atlas and National. We requested a "full pack" and move, which includes a crew to pack on one day, then a second crew comes with the truck. A third crew greets the truck at our destination to unload and place everything. Quotes are conducted either through FaceTime video, video app, or in-person visit. Prices varied - with each firm using their local affiliates to pack, drive and unload. You need to check reviews on the individual affiliates as well as the parent organization. Despite the highest quote, we selected United based on the experience with the quote person - Bill Douma - and the reputation of the two local affiliates here in NY ((William B Meyer) and in Fl. A dedicated move coordinator is assigned - ours being Laura Meng, who coordinates the crews and keeps tabs on timetables. The pack crew disassembled office equipment, TVs, and packed these in their original packaging (if available). Boxes were all labeled with contents and room destination. Not only did they pack carefully and caringly, but they were fun to talk with. Nice guys all! Wholeheartedly recommend! Will update after the unpacking...

We used William B Meyer to move from Westchester County NY to Fort Collins CO. I spoke to 5 movers…read morebefore selecting WBM. What I found is that the cost of the move is more or less the same, it is based on weight and distance. What differentiated WBM was the willingness to provide a comprehensive solution. We had an installed home office system that we took down and re-installed in our new home and WBM was the only mover who offered a solution for that. Furthermore, we moved a wine cellar and had furniture in CA that we needed moved. While in the end we didn't use WBM for that, they offered a solution. They also included boxes, which other movers did not. Bill Douma was our salesman and he was very responsive during the sales process. Our move coordinator, Brian Coughlin solved every issue promptly and courteously. Likewise our driver and loading crew were professional and courteous. My only complaint was with the unloading crew. They are motivated to unload the truck as quickly as possible and this is not aligned with the clients needs during a very overwhelming process. They were not cooperative with proper placement of area rugs and when I asked them to move two pieces of furniture they argued that I was asking them to rearrange the furniture, highly inappropriate since we have a lot of furniture and nearly filled a truck. Again this was at the end of long day when they had been working very hard without a break, but their communication style could be improved. My feedback for United is that they need to modernize their inventory system. The process of tagging boxes and furniture in different colors and complex inventory on multi-copy forms is highly confusing and inefficient and contributes to the hassle of move in day. All the tags should be scanned into an electronic inventory. Despite the constructive feedback above, I highly recommend WBM and United for anyone planning a cross country move.

They scheduled a zoom/facetime walk-thru of my apartment to see what I needed and to give me a better quote. I had started packing already and got all my own boxes so it was easy to see what I had left. What I really liked was the 'no BS' hidden fees. It was one price that wouldn't change, no matter the hours or added last minute box. Of course my move was scheduled and it had to snow. Thankfully this didn't stop them. 4 guys showed up right on time (during a snow storm on a friday morning rush hour in the city). They walked thru and got a game plan, then brought up all the blankets and plastic wrap and got to work. TVs were dismounted and put in boxes, mattresses were put in boxes as well. The amount of blankets they used to wrap my furniture made me so happy. While they took their time, they were still hustling - running from the truck to the apartment. Once we got to my new place, they covered my stairs with runners and wore plastic booties to ensure my floors weren't messed up. I wish I had bought the wall mount for my TVs for my new place, because they offered to set me up. The only thing I was disappointed about was that my couch didn't fit thru the garage entry so it was left in the garage. I wish they had tried thru the front door but they were adamant that it still wouldn't fit. After 7 hours, I wasn't going to push them. Regardless, would 100% recommend Veterans Movers and also hope Roadway doesn't ruin this small-business. I wish I could remember the 4 guys that helped me move to give them a shoutout! Thx!!!
