A mom-and-pop type business, operated and owned by the nicest little Orthodox Jewish guy, this store is the only locksmith I've found in the area who was willing and able to perform a very special request for me. At the time, I was working over the Sabbath in a facility where there was no proper eruv on the premises (for those of you who do not know, Jews are not allowed to carry from a public domain into a private domain, and vice-versa, unless there is a proper enclosure around an area which symbolically joins the two domains into a mixture of one). I had purchased an elastic key belt with metal hooks that link the keys together, effectively making the keys part of a garment, but alas, how does one do that when there are no holes in the keys? This solitary heimishe locksmith came to the rescue and was able to drill holes into the keys for me, enabling me to properly observe the Sabbath and guard its laws. it was done for a reasonable price, and he wished me well, and gave me a blessing, to boot. Should I have any key needs, I'll gladly come back here. read more
