Our technician, Wes, was very professional, on time and easy to talk to. He came out and checked the unit (we needed a different fuse) and turned the unit on and got it running. I was very happy with the service from the ladies in the office to Wes our technician. Just a heads up, they have a monthly maintenance plan ($12.95 a month) that they will try and sell you. It includes an annual check of your A/C unit and of your heater. Any additional work or service calls are then 20% off. We've done a lot of work on the interior and have slowly worked our way to the exterior of the house. We went from an ugly asphalt rolled roof to beautiful metal roof that was installed by Valley Roof Consulting. SERVICE - This is a top notch crew! The team comes out to your property to assess what they are working with. This includes . . . - assessing the surrounding perimeter and properties to determine how your rooftop selection could impact the surrounding perimeter and neighbors. - assessing the visibility of your rooftop. In our case, the rooftop of our house is the first thing you see since we live on a hill and our property easement is above our house, therefore curb appeal becomes equally as important to us just as much as the functionality of the roof type we select. - measuring your roof top, the pitch of your roof top, and checking for areas of your roof that may require fixing or replacing. Once they assess the perimeter and the rooftop of your home, they will provide you with your options. These options are based on the assessments they've made, and the requirements by the state of California and county requirements. They will walk you through the options of available roof types, the life of each roof type, and a general idea on what the cost differences are based on the options provided to you. Once you've a decision to go with Valley Roof Consulting and decide on the roof type, the process is pretty seamless, they will be transparent and keep you informed of the status of the project, but will absorb all of the burden required to finally get you to an installation date. (By burden, this includes pulling permits that required a lot of churn with the county and city, getting the material ordered and shipped during a period where supply, demand, and transportation has been met with complexity as a result of the pandemic, inflation, etc.) ONSITE WORK - The most exciting day! In our case, we live on a windy narrow road with limited parking, so knowing in advance what they required helped us to plan where our vehicles needed to be parked. Once on-site, you'll have the project manager onsite, and their crew of guys raring and ready to go! And when I say raring and ready to go, the efficiency as to how they come in, set-up and start the work is seamless. They know what needs to be done! Once they remove the old roof, they'll make sure any old wood is replaced before putting down the moisture barrier. In the situation of a metal roof, the metal panels are then molded and cut to size onsite. It was quite amazing to watch the process. Once all of the metal panels have been cut, the crew organizes the panels to ensure the installation is done efficiently. Whilst the engineer / project manager of the team knew how the metal panels were to be installed based on the shape and pitch of our roof, like any project, there's always contingencies and unknowns. This team, amazingly had to do a minor course correct, and they did it without a hitch and still got the installation done on time! THE TEAM - You'll be working with the owner and his right hand guy, and throughout the project, they are the team members that stay connected with you throughout the project. The crew that comes out to do the work are very professional, friendly, and equally as knowledgeable. At the end of each day during the job, they make sure the utilized workspaces within the perimeter of your home are always cleaned up. SUMMARY! - The result of the work, as you can see from the photo is a beautiful roof, installed with care and quality. - A great team of subject matter experts who know what they are doing, and are looking out for you. - A team who is willing to work intimately with other teams (e.g. solar company, the team who is installing the gutters, etc.) to ensure the other team do nothing to compromise the installation of the roof. We have made multiple phone calls over the years needing assistance with system issues and were constantly told someone would call us back. Those calls rarely happened, to the point that my husband drove 40 miles to their office just to speak to someone in person - with no resolution. Because SIG solar failed to provide support, WE had to contact the inverter manufacturer, twice in the past few years to get the system functioning, something the installer should have handled. When we just recently realized that we needed our roof replaced, SIG solar charged us $8000.00 to remove and reinstall the panels. We had to pay it because we did not want to do anything to jeopardize our warranty, effectively forcing us into this expense. This company appears focused on sales, not long-term service. For a major investment like solar, this level of non-responsiveness and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Experiences like this are why homeowners rely on consumer protection and contractor oversight agencies.

Their quote was very reasonable, especially given that it is a second story home with gutters that had NEVER been cleaned in the last decade at least. And same for the solar. A family emergency came up and I didn't move forward at that time. Fast forward 4 or 5 months and I reached out again. He responded right away and confirmed the details, honored the original quote (which impressed me as costs EVERYWHERE have gone up), and was able to schedule for a very convenient time without any difficulty. He also asked if there were any other services I was needing, which is when I discovered they do window cleaning, window and door screens and dryer vent cleaning as well! I did ask for them to quote me for a sliding screen door replacement, which was another great value, given the upgrades for the heavy duty screening and preferred color. And then the crew showed up...right on time, ready to go, and absolutely delightful people, every single one! It was a crew of 4. They got to work immediately and were thorough, cautious and hard-working. While they were working, I asked the crew leader about a quote for two window screens. Such a good deal that I said yes and they cleaned and rescreened as well as installed them on site as the other work was being done! And they did the final measurements for the sliding door to be made. They also asked if I wanted them to check the dryer vent and did so with no obligation for cleaning. I am sure I have literally never had the dryer vent cleaned in the almost 20 years I have lived here. So it was SOOOOOOOO full and needing to be cleaned badly. With another very reasonable price, I had them go for it! And it was done in no time at all. They did ALL this work (20 solar panels cleaned, gutters that literally had whole plants growing out of them completely cleaned and flushed, 2 windows re-screened, new door measurements taken and dryer vent cleaned), with the kindest, most non-judgemental, professional attitude. And they did it in UNDER 2 HOURS as a team! If you have a chance to use them, I would highly encourage you to. Yesterday it was for window washing (1st time) and power washing (2nd time). Fast and good work as always! Donnie always gives me a fair price and was willing to work with me when bundling services. No, he's not the cheapest, but 1) you get what you pay for, and 2) he gets it done ASAP--I called another company before just for a comparison quote, and they said it would be two weeks before they could do it--Five Star came in under two days! I would deduct a quarter star only because they forgot to mention they accidentally broke one of the outer window trims on a garage window --it was very brittle from facing the dry afternoon sun for 20 years, so I completely understand; just wish they had mentioned it. I added that quarter star back because upon arrival, Jerry the foreman pointed out that one of the front screens was busted from age/sun and offered to replace it for a great price--important when selling a house! For many years, I have used Five Star for gutter cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, screen replacement, outdoor window cleaning and power washing--and they're just as good as ever. Thanks!
