A great stop for lunch with chipped sandwiches, potato salad and Brunswick stew. Two sweet teas were the drink selection. Another great experience from one of our favorite local barbecue restaurants. A shoutout to the staff that was running short handed on the day we stopped in, but keep grinding to take care of us. We definitely recommend you stop in at Pepper's and enjoy a great meal with a down home bbq restaurant vibe. read more

I got four ribs which I'd say was pretty tender and delicious( comes with white bread and pickles) . I do wish the ribs came with a side, but you can buy sides separately. There side options I noticed didn't have Mac n cheese, potato salad or Brunswick stew. But overall rating the ribs I ordered was very nice! read more

Great little hole in the wall bbq joint. I had the chicken and it was superb. We were traveling from NC and my son wanted good bbq. This place met his request read more

This is definitely a hole in the wall business you would definitely pass it if you didn't know about it. The BBQ rib plate is what I ordered and on point they didn't even need bbq sauce added to them. The meat falls off the bone when you pull it absolutely amazing bbq. It can get busy in there but when I went it was perfect timing and had great service. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for good country bbq. read more

Stew used to be THE BEST! Now it is 1/2 stew, half water. No flavor at all. Today, I used paper towels to soak up the liquid in by 16 oz cup. I had about 1/2 cup of stew remaining and a huge pile of wet paper towels. I spoke with the owner who told me it "It just depends on who heats it up" . No "sorry", nothIng. This is not the first time its been watery but it was the worst. We wont be back. read more

Favorite BBQ spot in Columbus! I love the hot sauce and Brunswick stew! Service is always very quick.

A quick inexpensive lunch and I always get a side of their chili, which I have gotten addicted to recently.

Get your ribs here. The ribs are without a doubt the best ribs in Columbus. You may want to order before 1100 am or they'll be sold out by noon. read more

This restaurant is wonderful with delicious food like the ribs, baked beans and the hotdogs My family and I still need to try more things from the menu but so far we love it read more

I am not a Columbus local but I visit the area once a month on business. I have been to Peppers twice now and both times were very good experiences. I had the large rib platter both times, which had 5 bones (St. Louis cut spare ribs) and 2 sides. So far I have tried the mac salad, potato salad, stew and beans and my favorites among those were the macaroni salad and the beans. They have a variety of sauces, all homemade, and all very good. Give Peppers a try! read more

i love all the food here. the ribs have to be 10/10 my favorite though. also don't get me started on the potato salad because it's AMAZING. if you want down home country food, this is where it is. read more

I love this place! The BBQ is fantastic! It reminds me more of MS and TN BBQ. The beans and potato salad are incredible. Pair that with the ribs, chicken, or pulled pork and you'll be ready to slap somebody! It's that good! read more

Wonderful barbecue. They have good chipped pork sandwiches. The kind I especially like. And they have wonderful sauces too. Some are especially hot, which you cannot find at many places. I will be visiting here again and try and the barbecue pork ribs next time, and the barbecue chicken on the visit after that. Cannot wait! read more

I came here for lunch before my flight out of Columbus. I ordered a pulled pork plate (I chose the 8 oz size) and it came with bread and pickles. I'd never had pork like that before but it allows you to wrap the bread around the pork like a southern taco. There were four types of barbecue sauce. The two I tried were delicious. I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area again. read more

Columbus has the best Barbeque pork in the world. I have been all over the USA and had the different cuts, meats and sauces but I love my West Georgia Barbecue the best!. That being said, Pepper's has the best quality meat in town. These guys know what they are doing. Perfectly cooked, pulled and chopped. The remove all the fat. The yellow mustard sauce is the same sauce I remember my grandad loving and I'm proud to see my grandkids loving it too. The Brunswick stew (not chili, LOL) and BBQ slaw are the best in town too. I am usually not a cole slaw eater but there's is really good. This isn't what your gonna get anywhere else in America, enjoy the tradition and the difference. read more

The best BBQ in Columbus, GA area in my opinion. We had them cater our wedding. Best chopped sandwich around and their mild bbq sauce is great. They have kind of odd/weird hours it seems like but definitely worth it. read more

My favorite BBQ pork in Columbus. Good sauces as well. Stew was fair. They don't stay open enough.

This barbecue is spectacular! The sauces take it to another level. The only challlenge is they dont have standard hours

Nope, not it. I'm still looking for the good BBQ joint in Columbus. This was mediocre and my husband didn't even eat his bowl of chili. My meat plate came with bread and that's to be taken literally. It arrived straight out of the bag, untoasted. Where's the effort? The search continues... read more

I am a BBQ junkie and cook off competitor from Memphis so to me this entire areas BBQ is sad and under cooked. This is the best around Columbus hands down. BBQ is better cooked than most and flavored nicely. Good selection of sauces and home cooked veggies. Best in town with Clearwater a good second. read more

Kelly and her crew serve some GOOD 'que... Always tender and delicious! Love to read the old newspapers on the walls. Nice, local place to eat some good ole Georgia BBQ... read more

Good ribs, good pork. Not the best ribs I've had, but that's pretty far away from Columbus. The sauces were okay, but none really shined. The stew was also good. Overall, I'd go back. Next time I'll try their pork sandwich. read more

The food was soooo yummy! My mom and I shared a half rack of ribs, and we each got a side, and it was the perfect amount of food! It only cost us 14 dollars with a tip! Will definitely be coming back, although I wish there was a better choice of sides. read more

We were getting gas next door and could smell the BBQ. My 4 year old said the smell went right to his belly and he's a super picky eater so I was excited to grab some. We tried it for lunch and ended up taking the entire family back for dinner. Love it. read more

First time visit, liked the inside, gave it a homey feel. Nice decor, plenty of tables and seating for the lunch crowd. Place was busy with lunch customers, but service was quick. The sandwich was tasty, good sized portions for the price. Sweet tea was good and not TOO sweet. I thought the sauces were a little watery but overall flavor was good. I liked the hot, the medium was not bad either. Overall, nice place and I would go there again. read more

First time for me was when a patient's family brought sandwiches to our staff....best BBQ in town! Now, I eat at Pepper's every week. Excellent taste, generous portions, fair price....JUST GO! read more

Today was not a good day there. The pork plate was dry. Typically the chopped "chunks" are nice and moist and tasty, but today did not have any flavor and were very dry. I hope they are not starting to slide. I will give them another chance in a few weeks. read more

Easily the best BBQ in Columbus. I'm not a huge fan of the BBQ in this area but my husband and kids love the BBQ from Pepper's. The meat is always flavorful and very good quality. And the owners are very customer service driven and willing to go out of their way to serve. read more

Good barbeque. Nice local restaurant. Sauces are a little on the weak side. Cannot tell the hot from the mild. Family run. You really cant go wrong here. Just dont expect anything above average. I personally like the place and will continue to be a patron. read more

Hands down the best Barbeque ribs you can find in Columbus. The prices are a little on the pricey side (especially when you adding a drink), but the ribs are well worth it. I wasn't a fan of the side dishes to much or their barbeque sandwiches, but Pepper's can cook ribs and this alone keeps me coming back for more. Its a very small restaurant and gets pretty crowded quickly mid way between lunch and dinner. read more

Hidden gem. We have eaten at all the BBQ places in Columbus, and this one is the best. Simple menu, good food, decent value.

My favorite BBQ in Columbus. Great sauces and nice atmosphere, nothing fancy, they let the food do the talking. Awesome Brunswick Stew, loaded with meat. This is the first place we go whenever we return to visit family. They know to meet at Pepper's for lunch the first day we get into town if they want to see us. I like the fresh white bread instead of buns. Allows the pork and sauce to shine. read more

Kelly catered my son's graduation party. She went above and beyond to assure that, not only the food, but the delivery was top-notch. My guests were absolutely astounded at how good the food was - especially the ribs. We've been coming to Peppers as long as they have been in business and they have the absolutely BEST food, BEST service and BEST prices for what you get. Some would rather go to the "country" for BBQ but they are missing out if they do. read more

OMG Pepper's BBQ is THE BEST BBQ that I have EVER put in my mouth!!! their PORK BBQ sandwich is simply AMAZING! I get the finely chopped and I like it plain just the meat and the bread with lots of those extra dill pickles....mmmm....it is soooo good! I also am a big fan of their slaw dogs and that Brunswick stew I could eat by the gallon!!!!! My husband really likes their mustard based BBQ sauce and pours that on his sandwiches and he likes the slaw on his pork sandwiches just like they come. the staff is ALWAYS friendly and the food could NOT taste ANY better! I am an ARMY wife and we moved several years ago and the BBQ in TX and NM just does NOT compare! it is BEEF here and WAY more expensive and NOT NEARLY as good! EVERY SINGLE TIME we go home to visit my family in C-town, Pepper's is where we go to eat FANTASTIC BBQ!! I even bought a gallon sized bag full of their pork meat to freeze and drive all the way back to fort bliss, texas (21 hr drive) to have in our freezer for when my husband came home from deployment! he thought he had died and gone to heaven! LOL! it tasted just as good as he remembered and what I love about Pepper's is it ALWAYS tastes the same! it is NEVER hit or miss! they really know what they are doing seasoning their meat! I really miss that great food and can't wait to go back there the next time we make it back to Columbus! =) read more

I've been coming here a couple of times a month for years and always had great food. This time a guy who said he was the owner took my order and didn't know how to operate the register. He tried to overcharge me 3 time before I convinced him he was incorrect, I get the same thing every time and I know how much it is. Then I waited almost 10 minutes for my order, I was the only one in the place and just got a chipped sandwich and a cup of stew. He put it on a tray when I ordered it to go and got irritated when I corrected him again. By now the lady I usually deal with came in and gave me my bag. I checked it and the stew was room temperature. Having been in the restaurant business for over 20 years, I am cautious of hot food not held at the proper temp. I told them I just wanted a refund. He argued with me that the stew was hot, and stirred it up from the bottom of the pot to show me. Again, I said I just wanted a refund and to leave. Then the lady asked if I wanted her to check the temperature of mine. I said for the 3rd time, I just want a refund and to leave. He then took $10 from the register and threw it at me. You lost a long time patron because of this guy's attitude. read more
