I've been coming to this restaurant for decades and it's usually awesome, but not the last few times I've been. The bulgogi was more like grinded up/minced meat that was chalky (maybe too long in the tenderizer?). They also stopped serving the Yakimandeu (fried dumplings) and the tongsuyok (sweet and sour pork) and replaced it with an inedible mini spring roll. The chopchae was cold and overcooked. The egg rolls, the egg drop soup and all of the vegetable side dishes were amazing as they always have been! I didn't order their kimbap this time, but that is always so good! I love this place so much, but I wish they'd get back to some of their staple dishes and perfect them as they were. read more

I absolutely love Golden Chopsticks. It is a treat to have authentic Korean along with all the yummy Korean style veggies. if you order to go, you do not get vegetables. Also, if you die in you get refills on veggies! I usually try to go at lunchtime because you get the lunch menu with the reasonable lunchtime prices. In the evening, you have no choice, but to get the entire serving or platter of Bulgogi or whatever you choose to order, which, of course is too much food for one person along with the hefty price. My family and I went to dinner last week and we all had a wonderful experience. I must admit, I think I prefer going for lunch rather than dinner! I got Korean style pork ribs, which were tasty; however, the spice level did catch me off guard. The customer service was great as usual, I know that it is a family owned business, and I have never had anything but great service. Therefore, I was not shocked by our service. We have been here a handful of times now and have enjoyed the food we have ordered pretty much every single time leaving us nice and full. Food is usually consistent, service is good, and the restaurant is clean. I have no problem recommending this Korean spot to those in the Fort Moore area. Wow, business was booming here when we came for takeout. We had to call 10 times to be placed on hold just to get disconnected; I tried another few times (and just when reaching that tipping point of giving up) finally was successful in calling in an order. I find out at the scene that there was at least 6 parties waiting to pickup their orders vs. one floor staff who was trying to take these influx of calls & walk-ins and package large orders of take-outs. And it was barely 4pm - not even prime meal time! For our meal, we ordered: Al-Jigae (pollack roe soup) Galbi-ugeoji Tang (short rib soup) Galchi (belt fish) & Mackerel - grilled + marinated The soups were hearty, but I could definitely taste the MSG. I guess it was more on the "subtle" end of the spectrum if compared at other Korean places but enough for me to have to water it down for my taste. As for the grilled & marinated fish (on the spicy end) aren't served in other Korean cuisines we frequent so that was a treat to have these entree options! Best vegan meal in town hands down I called ahead and asked if they had any vegan options. They indicated the bibimbap could be veganized by omitting the meat and egg. I asked if they could substitute with tofu instead of the meat and egg and they did. I got the cold option but there is a hot bowl option that is more expensive. The vegetable quality was good. The tofu was cooked well with a nice, crispy outside. Staff was friendly & helpful. Sauce on side was spicy which I like. The portions were nice sized and the prices were in line for Korean restaurants. The surroundings were pleasant enough/not fancy and clean with ample seating. I think this place is okay. I don't want to give it two stars, but I don't feel like it quite deserves three, I'm giving it three though because the ban chan was good. The set up is a lot like a lot of other Korean restaurants I've been to so that doesn't throw me off. As I said earlier the ban chan they give out is small but tasty, their kim chi is okay, but they bring out some fried egg, and spinach, and seaweed, they were all delicious. I ordered the dol sot bi bim bop, mixed rice in a hot pot, it is to Korean restaurants as the hamburger is to any American place. I was a little disappointed in it, the gochujang-hot pepper paste was a little bland and that's really what makes the dish in my opinion. I kept adding more and more and it just didn't seem to do anything.
