Was very surprised to find an authentic Korean place of a (to me, who is not from Georgia) random city on the boarder of Atlanta-Alabama. The inside is fairly plain but smells delicious. Korean was being spoken between staff and customers which is always a good sign. The food was quick and delicious. Solid japchae and soondubu. read more

Tasty Korean food that took care of my craving while I was in Lagrange. Keum Soo Kang San is located in a large strip mall which was convenient for me since I was staying at a hotel on Lafayette Parkway. The space is pretty simply decorated, with Korean music filling the air. The server was friendly, and as attentive as you'd want in a restaurant and answered questions another diner had about Korean food. I ordered the Kimchi Jeon (Pancake), and Dolsot Bibimbap (the hot stone bowl) for my lunch/early dinner. I was offered Boricha (Korean barley tea in a carafe) which was refreshing on the warm day I stopped in. The small bowl of seaweed soup (Miyoek-guk) was a nice way to start my meal. Not blistering hot, but just warm enough to feel like a hug from mom. The thin, greasy Kimchi Jeon was a bit disappointing. For $15.99 the Kimchi Jeon was one of the smallest I've ever had in a Korean restaurant. The taste was fine, but there was no crisp to the bites, and considering Kimchi jeon is chopped kimchi in a flour pancake batter, I feel that for the thinness of the pancake, two would've justified the price. And there was no dipping sauce which is traditionally served with the Jeon. The Dolsot Bibimbap was good, with pieces of beef, bean sprouts, fried egg, and other vegetables you'd expect to find in your Bibimbap. The gochujang came on the side which I used all of when mixing everything together. The banchan were tasty. The kimchi was a bit on the sour side, so I just tossed it into my bowl to mix with my Bibimbap. The strips of fish cake, slivers of potato, and pickled Korean peppers were all good, and joined the kimchi in my bowl too. The food was tasty and was just what I wanted to satisfy my Korean food craving. It's nice to see a few Korean places in Lagrange, and perhaps the prices of the food are due in part because there isn't a huge Korean population comparable to the larger cities. However, the prices on some of the dishes is a bit of a shock when you're familiar with Korean food and know what goes into a lot of it. A $40+ lunch for one is crazy, no matter how good the food was. read more

Keum Soo Kang San - My partner and I enjoying our first time at the establishment. - Korean Near Me - LaGrange, Georgia

Very authentic Korean food in a small town. Typical Korean restaurant services. Highly recommended.

I hit the jackpot with this spot. I hit up La Grange to visit Wild Leap brewery which I definitely recommend. But after a day of drinking beer, I needed substance in my stomach. I love Korean food so I said why not. Let's see. And boy did I see! This spot is on par with some good Korean restaurants in the Atlanta area. Trust me I have eaten at a ton of them. And the prices are reasonable! We started with mandu - dumplings which were yum-my. Then I ordered the spicy pork BBQ and John E. ordered the beef kalbi which is short ribs. The beef was the bomb! The pork was good but the beef was sweet and juicy and a great portion size. The banchan is always my favorite because it's unlimited and I'm greedy. We got Kimchi - liked, bean sprouts mixed in a sesame oil-loved, pickled radish - loved, apples mixed in mayo- not my thing but good if you enjoy that, I think shredded potato - good and something else, I'll have to look it up. It also came with a soup which was a nice touch after all the food. I like to end my meals with warm liquid. I liked that they freely refilled the banchan, some places are stingy but not here. And it came with white rice too. We spilt the bill and it came up to about $25 each. Not bad for a full belly. They were not busy and the place was visited by a number of Asian folks who appeared to be regulars. They do take out as well but who leaves unlimited banchan on the table, not me. I highly recommend this spot while in LA Grange. It's in a shopping plaza so plenty of parking. The windows are dark but don't be scared every one was really friendly. The food is great! I read more

Haven't had good korean food since visiting Montgomery Alabama so I was excited to find this restaurant in La Grange. They are very covid safety, must have a mask on to enter & the staff has theirs on as well. Tables have hand sanitizer, the whole restaurant is very clean, incl the bathroom. We ordered a pork dish & a beef dish to share, the pork was a little spicy & the beef on the sweeter side, like teriyaki. Both were the small portions but was more than enough to fill our bellies, along with the sides and seaweed soup. The seasoning of all their dishes were spot on. I will definetly make the drive back up here next time I get a craving for korean food. read more

Food was good and people were nice we will go back for more thank you and good food for us

Not busy on a Friday night. We ordered Kalbi Tang, Duk Manduguk, Mul Naengmyun, and Jajangmyeon. The first disappointment was that they only offer jajangmyeon on Saturdays despite it appearing in the menu with no indication of its limited availability - utter disappointment since this was why we came to this spot and not Todamgol. So, the order was changed to Dolsot Bibimbap. We also ordered kalbi and bulgogi but only after we confirmed the bulgogi was cooked over a fire and not on a pan. The banchan was good, seven plates; though I'm always weirded out by the mayo covered apples! A note to those who might be newbies to Korean food: You can order extra of any of the banchan. Just ask. We didn't ask since we ordered so much other food, so I can't comment on the staff's reaction and compliance. A hiccup was when they tried to give us Yukgaejang instead of Kalbi Tang. Luckily it was a mix-up with another table so they had the correct dish out within a couple of minutes. I ordered the mul naengmyun and I initially thought I only needed her to cut the noodles four times but I really could have used four more. But what disappointed me the most was the fact that there was no meat in the bowl, just a crazy amount of noodles and some radish, cucumber and a half egg. I don't need a lot of meat, but I'm used to a few slices to eat with the noodles. The lack of meat made it look like a cheap version of the dish. I'd give up half the noodles to get a few slices of meat. That would have made it close to perfect. The other dishes were tasty but I do have to note that the bulgogi looked and tasted more pan-fried despite what we were told. It's so hard to find a place that will cook the bulgogi on a grill to give it that delicious flavor and char. read more

Strip center restaurant gave me pause because it was empty but it was very good. The service was excellent as well. I had Bibimbap(sp) very very tasty. We also shared delicious pan fried dumplings. They were the best I've ever had. Tasted pork belly but I wasn't impressed. It seemed very authentic to me and the Korean among us agreed. Very pleasant surprise to find a good Korean restaurant in Lagrange GA of all places. read more

Although we have never been to Korea, this appears to be just as authentic as a trip across the Pacific. We typically talk to our waitress about what they suggest and we eat like kings! I prefer a Hite beer and they have plenty ice cold. Highly recommended if you like Korean or are just looking for something adventurous. Enjoy read more

This was my first try at Korean food and I really enjoyed it. I wasn't looking for Korean food, but due to the snow storm my options were limited to this place, Japanese, or Applebee's. I'd starve before eating at an Applebee's and I wasn't up for the typical "dog and pony" show at the Japanese joint. I entered the door and was pleasantly greeted by the staff. I was brought some hot tea by the server and she attempted to explain the menu to me, but I still wasn't sure what anything was, even after her attempt to explain it to me (just due to my ignorance of Korean food). I saw a picture on the menu and told her that's what I wanted. It was pork with onions in a red sauce (it looked good). After a few minutes, she brought a huge tray of food out on a cart and most of it looked "weird" - yet delicious. Luckily, I watch a lot of Bizzar Foods, so some of the food looked familiar. I recalled that Kimichi from the TV show and I was eager to try it. Along with my main course, sides included the Kimichi, egg plant, soup, small shrimp (parts and pieces with shells flash fried), and many other typical Korean sides. I must say that I made a pig of myself and ate everything, even after telling myself that there was no way I could eat it all. It was all different to me, yet remarkably tasty. In addition, I enjoyed the company of an all-Korean ambiance, staff, and customers. I would definitely recommend this place, but could only give it 4 stars because I couldn't compare it to anything, as this was my first experience with Korean food. I will definitely return when business brings me back to town. read more

The food here was excellent and reasonably priced. I used google translate to explain that I am vegan, and I think it came across for the most part given the language barrier. Only one side of banchan tasted like it might have fish sauce. The dolsot bibimbap was a healthy bowl with rice, tofu, corn and other veggies. It was served with kimchi, pickled veggies and seaweed salad. The restaurant was clean and my server was very friendly. This is a wonderful addition to this area given the amount of chain restaurants. read more

Our first visit to a Korean restaurant and we loved it. My husband got Grilled marinated short beef ribs and I got Goat meat stew. Both were amazing. 6 sides came with the food. Food must be authentic because we were the only Caucasians in the restaurant. We had a server who spoke perfect English and gave us food recommendations. read more

Wonderful and authentic Korean cuisine. I ate here twice while in town on business and thoroughly enjoyed both dishes I tried. I had bibimbap once and yukgaejang the next time. My wife and I and our two kids visited on Saturday the 29th of Feb at around 530pm. We were taken to our table and they asked us what we wanted to drink. Well 15 minutes later we still didnt get our drink and during that time some Koreans came in...the whole staff came out to greet them which they didnt us and they had their drinks in less than 5 min. I have heard of this type of behavior at Korean restaurants around here before and now this confirms that. read more

Would not go back. Over priced. Not good. And they served spoiled chili sauce. Def not worth it

Delightful surprise in LaGrange! Came in for dinner around 8pm on a Tuesday night, they weren't packed but had a good bit of business. The food was amazing! I had more than enough and enough leftover for lunch the next day. I had ordered the Dwaeji Bulgogi. Ordering in English was not a problem, although being Korean may have warranted us better service. Service was subpar. Food came out at a decent time, but the waitress never came back to ask if everything was ok, drinks were never refilled, and getting the check required flagging down another waitress after sitting idle for awhile after our meal. Overall, the price was decent and the food was good. read more

We wanted traditional Korean food so badly and had gone to another restaurant only to get there and they required everyone wear a mask until eating. We did not have masks for the kids so we left, and there was no other patrons there. We decided to go to Keum Soo Kang San and we are so glad we did! The place was clean and there was really only one other party there eating in person, but in a private room. They were working so hard especially with only two amazing women in the kitchen and our server. He was great too! They were hustling to make everything fresh for both parties and several takeout orders all patrons were Korean so you know the food is legit! Everything we ordered was delicious and we couldn't get enough though we hs MORE than enough food. Dolsot Bibimbop with beef was excellent! Kids loved Mandu and Jopchae. Beef Bulgogi was served with rice, a simple potato soup, and fabulous Banchan (sides - boiled shelled peanuts, 3 types of kimchi, sautéed greens, Korean cole slaw). I would highly recommend this restaurant, its staff, their skills, and their food to anyone looking for an authentic Korean eating experience. Our family and our friends loved it (party of 8)! read more

LaGrange is filled with too many mediocre chain restaurants but this place was a pleasant find. Very good Korean food that was fresh and good, efficient service. A lot of variety on the menu, however it takes some creativity to decipher. This is a great place if you want to try something different and experiment. Quantities are generous and prices reasonable. Great portions and great lunch prices. Lunch is $8-10, while dinner ranges up to $40. I'd venture to say, based on lunch, that the dinner is well worth it. No surprises here, just good food. Would definitely give any Atlanta restaurant a run for its money. Service is what I expect from an Asian restaurant. Brusque, but not inattentive. Don't mistake the lack of hovering for a lack of care. They'll be there when you need them. read more
