One of the better local diners. I've been here more than a dozen times and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Both are better than expected for a diner like this. Very different atmospheres from sitting up front to the dinning area in the back, though both are comfortable. Staff here is always very friendly. The prices seem to be slightly higher than some other area competitors, but not so much that I won't continue to dine here. They're open much later than most similar places as well so it's a great go to when it's getting late. read more

First time, last time. We stopped for lunch yesterday, on the recommendation of a local we met at church. Generous portions, but nothing special. Pasta served with red sauce was coated in oil - to the point there was a pool of it under the pasta. Mashed potatoes were served cold. Two of the four us became ill within the hour... and are still suffering some "effects" 24 hours later. I do not recommend unless you're seeking a colon cleanse. read more

Nothing special, staff is friendly, food is ok, a potato pancake was part of my order-it was beautifully spiced, place is clean, water is cold, prices are reasonable, but it is only a diner. Been there before and will return, but remembering it is only a diner. Stop by for just a ordinary meal. read more

I would not recommend eating at this restaurant becuase the food was luke warm and some of the food was cold and the coffee was cold and the smoothies that look like they should only cost 4 or 5 dollars because of the size and the prices are ridiculous read more

Oh my! I'm so glad we decided to come here! I had the Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad only I got the poppyseed dressing (at the servers recommendation) and it was excellent! Best food in the Rochester Area! I'm a California boy and have been living in Rochester more than 25 years. Why did it take me so long to find Peppermints! So far, I've had three different meals, all of them great -- Hot turkey sandwich with gravy is a substantial turkey -- not lunch meat!. Wednesday night special is lasagna with great salad and garlic bread. During Oktoberfest the schnitzel special with gravy is just great with potato pancakes and applesauce. Portions are generous, but not too big! Servers are prompt and pleasant. The owner sometimes tours the place to see how everyone is doing. It's clear Peppermints attracts a lot of regulars, too. One day, I stopped by for lunch on the way to the office and when I got to the office a coworker asked how I was doing. I said great because of Peppermints! The worker was surprised I hadn't been there, yet. "What's not to like?," he said. It appears a lot of great stuff is not on the menu. That schnitzel isn't on the online menu and is seasonal in October (and November!). I'm told the lasagna is every Wednesday night on the special board. I was surprised there was no biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I haven't tried Peppermints for breakfast yet, but I was told they have biscuits and gravy every day, but it's on the board as a special because they run out and only want to serve it while it's hot and fresh. Today I ordered a fried chicken meal from Peppermints. The issue I personally had was the fact that my chicken breast was cold on the out side and frozen on the inside. I was given 10% off on the meal and the server was very polite for the inconvenience but very poor quality control on what is coming out of the kitchen..... Do not order the fried chicken meal unless you want a $11.49 banquet chicken meal. read more

Boyfriend and I took a day trip to Canandaigua and were shocked to learn most places closed by 9 on a Friday night We decided to take the country roads home to hopefully find some non fast food eats. Stumbled upon Peppermints. Brianna took wonderful care of us!! We ordered the delmonico steak special ($19.95) and the blackened salmon special ($14). Both dishes came with 2 sides ( we ordered yukon mashed, chef veggie, butternut squash and onion rings). The food did not disappoint!!!!!! Everything was delicious!! Been here plenty of times for breakfast. Food never disappoints and coffee is good. Went there for supper for the first time. Had the Saturday night prime rib. Both mine and my wifes were cooked as ordered. Sides were delicious. Saw many other things on the menu I'd like to try so we'll be going back often. read more

I wasn't sure about going in because the parking lot was empty for a Sunday afternoon, but I am glad we did. I had the chicken special and my husband had the messy hamburger. Both plates were very good, mine even had real mashed potatoes. The restaurant was clean and the crew working was very professional. I'm from out of town and was just here to visit for a weekend. I stopped into to Peppermints to get a quick hearty breakfast. The staff was extremely friendly, as is everyone in Avon. The food was delicious and tasted homemade. I had pancakes, bacon and a fruit bowl all for 14 dollars. Can't beat that! read more
