They catered the entire event, and let's just say... nobody went home hungry. We had kebabs, rice pilaf, chili dogs, garden salad, coleslaw, hummus and pita bread--and it just kept coming! Every time I thought we'd reached the end of the food, another tray appeared. I swear it was magic! Everything was absolutely delicious, and our guests couldn't stop talking about it. They even delivered everything, which made hosting so much easier. My biggest regret? Not taking a single picture! I was too busy making sure the birthday boy stayed surprised and everyone was eating. Trust me, the spread was impressive enough to belong in a food magazine. If you're thinking about catering an event, stop thinking and call Jillian's Coney Island. They hit it so far out of the park, the ball still hasn't landed! 10/10--would happily let them overfeed us again!

It's been a while, but true to form, the hash browns were crisp, the corned beef was generous AND deelish as usual; first time I've included eggs-they were poached to perfection ...add the gravy: next level gratification. We ordered $4.50 beer. When the bill came, we were charged $9.00 for the 2 beers, instead of charging is the $.50 difference. The house ended up earning $8.50 for the beer we didn't get. To make matters worse, the fries were not served with the burgers. We had to remind the waitress, a long-time employee, that they are included. The last time there, my wife ordered the new tomato, avocado, and bacon sandwich. It was served minus the avocado. Had to get the busy waitress again. What a way to spoil a meal. The place now has a new menu. Four of my favorites are no longer offered. Not to mention that our favorite waitress was let go.

When our waitress brought the drinks, we asked her to go through the menu as it was very overwhelming (I would say there is about 100 options) even though we eat Mexican food pretty regularly. She described the tacos as the "safe" option and highly recommended the chimichangas. My boyfriend ordered the chimichanga while I chose the casa birria tacos. After placing our order, we looked up reviews online and started to feel a little nervous. Unfortunately, the food ended up being pretty mediocre. The beef chimichanga tasted more like seasoned hamburger meat than shredded beef, the beans had a strange aftertaste, and the quesabirria tacos were overwhelmingly salty. The worst part came afterward. Within 24 hours, both of us became extremely sick. My boyfriend especially had severe stomach issues all night. Honestly, it felt like a warning sign considering the three previous times we tried to eat there, the restaurant had either been unexpectedly closed or shut down for the day.

I have images from two different visits in this review. Managed well this restaurant has great food and good service. Been here a number of times and honestly it's usually high class for the region. On this occasion our party of three had cedar planked salmon, red snapper and shrimp, lemon scented salmon with corn salsa and black beans. We also had a wedge salad, seafood bake appetizer and cup of clam chowder. The chowder is a staple and has lots of chunks of potatoes and clams. Wedge salad is good- not in my top 5 but certainly in the top 10. Made right/ great blue cheese dressing! Personally the red snapper and shrimp was lovely. Crusted with Parmesan cheese the red snapper had a nice exterior. I had double veg and appreciated the asparagus. All the food was great the appetizer was awesome. I could have eaten about 10 more shells with that lovely seafood cheese and butter dream. So head on up or down the river and enjoy a nice night! This is situated with a hotel on property. One day I'll eat, drink, stay and update this review! Thanks as always River Crabs!

The waitress was super friendly and helpful, and she gave some good insight when deciding what to order. The rest of the staff, not so much as a warm hello or goodbye. Definitely made me feel unappreciated as a customer. There was also an ongoing issue that the other staff were arguing about loudly for several minutes. I started with the meatballs, and they were delicious! For my main, I went with the Cajun chicken tortellini. It was good, but I was definitely hoping for more of that Cajun kick. The flavor was a little mild for what I was expecting. I finished with the key lime pie, which was sweeter than I prefer and not quite as creamy or tangy as I was hoping for. Still enjoyable. Overall, it was a laid-back experience. The food was decent, but the river view really made it worth the stop. I'd come back mainly for the scenery, especially if I had someone who wanted a meal with a view! More of a date night spot.
