It was flavorful and actually tasted like a mix between turkey and a garden burger. My husband said it's the best he's never had. We also loved the chicken sandwich. Perfectly crispy and tangy. Our neighbors saw our dish and regretted not ordering it themselves. Our tab came to $48 without any drinks. A deal for a nice meal. And we were stiffed. Our waitress seemed overwhelmed and often forgot about us while chatting with other tables. The food was still good overall, though my Asiago chicken came out a bit dry since it was lacking sauce. Once we mentioned it, it was corrected. Definitely not our best experience at Bentley's, but we still love the menu and the restaurant. With a pleasant smile, she acted as if it wasn't any kind of problem and offered to let me sit wherever I wanted. This was the beginning of a great dining experience! Once I was seated, a menu was offered and my drink selected. When she brought my drink ($2.50 hot tea, with sliced lemon and a bit of honey), I requested a $12 Farmer's Omelette, with rye toast. With Motown favorites playing in the back ground and a nice view of the activities outside, it was a peaceful wait until my order arrived. Now, I enjoy eating out, and when I do, I like to order satisfying meals. Well, this certainly 'fit the bill' and I devoured my omelette with vigor. The only alteration I made was adding some salt and pepper, and a little hot sauce to satisfy my tongue. I was able to maintain my status as a member of the Clean Plate Club®. My waitress was very nice and treated me like I was the only customer in the restaurant! She checked up on me once and found everything to be in order. The beef chimichanga tasted more like seasoned hamburger meat than shredded beef, the beans had a strange aftertaste, and the quesabirria tacos were overwhelmingly salty. The worst part came afterward. Within 24 hours, both of us became extremely sick. My boyfriend especially had severe stomach issues all night. Honestly, it felt like a warning sign considering the three previous times we tried to eat there, the restaurant had either been unexpectedly closed or shut down for the day.
