What arrived was a taco salad and as I dug down deeper there was beef in it so I called the waitress over and told her and she went into the back room and when she came back out, she asked if I wanted her to swap it out. So I told her I don't eat beef. My friend got a little hotheaded and said management should check this out. Next thing we know the cook came from the back room and asked what the problem was. We described the situation and again he didn't seem to understand what the problem was. I explained that I ordered the vegetarian taco salad . Now mind you, I didn't have the menu in front of me at this time, but I knew there were three taco salads on the menu and one of them had no beef in it - so that's what I had ordered. She had even repeated it back to me, so I'm not quite sure how she messed up the order so bad. So when my friend was placing his order, he asked how many tacos came with the taco platter. She asked one of the other waitresses and then answered that there were three but then she added if he wanted five tacos, he could get it for eight dollars. He thought that was a pretty good deal so he placed that as an order. she came back out in about 10 minutes and said that she made a mistake and couldn't offer him the five tacos for eight dollars but it was $12.50. I said to him why don't you just get the taco platter and then you'll have the rice and beans with it so he said yeah I think I'll have the taco platter. The waitress then said well I already put in the order for the five tacos. I said well you better go cancel that and tell them you want the taco platter. Then at some point The cook came out of the back room and this was before the whole fiasco with my meal and he tried to get an explanation of what my friend wanted to order. Again we didn't have a menu in front of us so we are trying to do this from memory. We did remember that he wanted the taco platter and for some reason, the cook kept asking which taco platter. So after all the frustration, we got free chips and salsa, but we're never going back there again

The food counter is located in the back of a small Mexican market so you can pick up a few specialty groceries while you wait for your food. This really is a hidden gem.
