So yummy! We LOVE Anne's Diner so much! The food is delicious, I forgot to take the pic until I ate half of it. Just so ya know.

This place stays busy and there is a wait for your food. The waitress seem to be have a lot going on but was able to keep on top of it. I just wish that if the kitchen was running behide you tell your customers there is a 45 minute wait instead at 45 minute mark was told they lost our ticket and now working on food.

I stopped up here with my cousins and grandma recently to enjoy lunch and catch up. The service was slow the entire visit. It seemed they only had one server for the restaurant at lunchtime on a Sunday. Once we ordered, food seemed to come up quickly. They forgot my cousin's soup before her entree came out, so they packed it up to go for her. All the other food seemed correct. The sliders I ordered were juicy and seasoned well. The Coke was completely flat but I didn't feel like fussing about it. This diner fits the demographic and area, but it's not quite the place I was looking for when getting lunch with my family.

I got the open face turkey sandwich and cup of chicken noodle soup. The soup was really tasty and the sandwich was good.

Stopped in for lunch and what a pleasant surprise a small diner with a good club sandwich. The service was good the only slight problem kitchen was backed up a little so took a little time for food. I had the colonial club , white toast with ham , bacon , tomato, lettuce , American cheese and mayo. For some reason I really liked it . I figured most of these places made them all the same low end meat bad veggies. The lettuce was crisp tomatoes red and the ham was thick and bacon crisp. What a nice surprise. It came with fries regular steak fries but a nice helping. Also Coke always a winner.

Stopped here on the way to Canada. Interesting decor inside, did not like the 2 dirty tables outside that people were smoking at. They were very close to the front door and no way to avoid it. Typical greasy spoon diner menu. We ordered the eggs, bacon, potatoes etc. There was only 2 other tables occupied and it took about 45 minutes to get our food. The cook seemed to be doing everything around the restaurant and the waitress was just kind of hanging around. The food was okay but everything else going on in this place was a total turn off. I will not be returning. The prices were pretty cheap.

They have preserved the heritage and architecture so beautifully it gives the entire venue such a sophisticated, storied allure. The layout is simply divine. They offer a chic bar area, elegant indoor seating, and a breathtaking balcony that is absolutely the premier spot to watch the sunset over the water. It is a perfect 10/10 for ambiance alone! The hospitality was equally impressive. My waiter was remarkably gracious, walking me through a menu that surprisingly featured quite a few complimentary touches and wonderful selections. On his recommendation, I opted for the Lobster Corn Dog a delightfully whimsical, high-low culinary twist that was executed to perfection. During our lovely chat, the waiter mentioned they are under fabulous new ownership, and the passion truly shows. As someone newer to sharing my thoughts on Yelp, I can confidently say this is a premier destination that deserves a flawless score. A must-visit if you appreciate history, views, and impeccable charm!

I enjoyed my halibut, as well as the salmon I had a few bites of -- it was perfectly cooked. I was super impressed with the risotto. Awesome flavor and the chicken was so well-seasoned. They have a solid cocktail list here, too. Friendly service and great food will have us coming back to try more! Our only gripe was that the olives appetizer should come with more bread :P

Ambiance: The inside has black, white and red checkered floors, red tile walls, round red (with shiny flakes) counter stools and a vintage neon-ish clock. Service: the building is small, and the food is cooked in front of you. As soon as I walked in, the cook - David - cheerfully greeted me. Definitely a friendly, high energy guy, enthusiastically representing Detroit! Food: I ordered the striped catfish dinner with fries and coleslaw. The slaw was house-made with purple cabbage. I would have preferred the strips cut into smaller pieces. I could not identify the seasoning, it was ok. Maybe an acquired taste. The crinkle cut fries were also ok, I would have preferred seasoned though - probably frozen? The catfish, was taken out of refrigerator, battered and cooked in front of me. It was delicious! Gold corn meal, seasoning salt, pepper and maybe paprika? The way my late father used to do it! The 2 fillets were a generous size : 8 or so inches. I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

The hostess was rude, and when we were seated, there were straws, wrappers, and spilled liquid underneath our table. No one offered to clean it, and after being sat, no one came to our table for over 20 minutes. When our waiter finally arrived- without greeting or introducing himself he just asked "has anyone been with you yet?" *mind you he had been in the section tending to TWO other tables the whole time we were there*. We ordered drinks (an old fashioned and a mocktail), along with cheese curds for an appetizer and a steak and burger for dinner. Our drinks didn't come out for another 15 minutes. When the waiter brought them, I asked if he could put all of our food in at once if he didn't already. He stated he already had because the kitchen was backed up. After that, we never saw him again. Meanwhile, the couple seated right before us received their drinks, meals, and even dessert. Another table was served three appetizers during the time we sat there waiting. Our table was available after being on a waitlist of 35 minutes at 7:11pm and by 8:30pm we still had not received ANY of our food or seen our waiter again. We left money on the table to cover our drinks and left. To make matters worse, the table next to us remained dirty the entire time we were there, and an 8-top nearby sat covered in dishes the whole evening. Where was the manager? The owner? There was no one walking around apologizing for long wait times, no communication, and absolutely no effort to offer compensation or make things right. I have worked in hospitality in years and the way this night was handled was absolutely careless. I have given this establishment MANY changes, and this was the last straw. An absolute 0/10 experience. This was supposed to be a special Valentine's night out for us, and instead it was frustrating and disappointing. I will not be returning to Freighters, and I will be sharing this experience with others so they don't waste their special occasions the way we did.
