Hello, i made an appointment with pep boys for 11 am because my brakes were makeing a scary noise, driving to pep boys the brakes pretty much became non existant so it was a scary ride to say the least. After dropping off they said they would call me. At 7 pm i decided to call them because i heard nothing, they put me on hold for a bit then said the technician called in sick and i have to pick up my car. This sounded fabricated, but even worse I had the task of driving a car home with no brakes. No service done to my car and i have to be at work the next morning, I could have brought it somewhere else. To blame- the person who took my appointment should not have said 11 am, just say you are booked solid, the kid who told me the technician called in sick, he said it was an hour before i called (or it was a lie), the technician who called in sick last minute should get fired, the shift supervisor who didn't get another technician to cover. read more

I had an "appointment" for a State Inspection. I've been waiting for over 2 hours and they haven't even gotten to the car yet. Why even make appointments for customers if they still wait for over 2 hours for a simple inspection? I'll never bring a car for service here ever again. read more

Absolutely amazing service. There fast paced and highly educated. Prices are very fair. the people behind the counter were very helpful and understanding and welcoming. I arrived with a appointment and was actually brought into the shop in less then 5 minutes. Which is amazing because about 4 months ago in came in with a appointment and the manager told me sorry but it's gunna be about a hour till you get in. So the fact that management has apparently changed for a much better ran business goes to show overall this location has approved and I will return for any automotive issues!!!! read more

Service department is terrible and the prices are crazy. I got charged nearly $300 for an hour and a half of labor, I even provided the part, I fell like I got robbed. read more

Sorry for the long rant, but this needs to be shared. I am never ever going to this pep boys, or any other pep boys again. Nor will I ever recommend pep boys to anyone. I will straight up tell them to never go there. First of all, I am pretty patient and understanding when it comes down to it. I can say that because every single oil change that I've gotten here has taken an average of 3 hours and I sit and wait and never complain because I understand that things can get busy, and more important things may come up. I only complained once because it took 5 hours for them to change two tires. But this time around, I have had it with this place. Maybe 6 months ago I had gotten my brake pads done and a gasket fixed. Or so I thought. A few weeks after I got this done, I noticed my brakes were squeaking. But I couldn't afford to get anything looked at again because I had just spent like $500 getting everything fixed. I had a friend of mine who owns his own shop look at my brakes and he tells me the pads are fine but these guys at pep boys did something wrong. My brakes have been squeaking for months now. But I'm used to it at this point. So now my car hasn't been accelerating like it used to and it's just slowly been getting worse and worse. I'm driving on a major highway and my check engine light starts flashing, my car is smoking, and it won't go any faster than 20mph. Long story short, my friend looked at it and tells me that whoever fixed this gasket, fixed it completely wrong. Up to the point where there was oil leaking everywhere and if I drove my car any longer, it could've potentially caught fire. So not only was my life at stake because of this place, now I have to spend more money fixing THEIR mistake. So then I go to pep boys to have them print out the receipts for the "work" that they did and to speak to the manager. As politely as possible, I explained my situation to the girl at the desk and asked to see the manager. She goes around back to speak with him and she comes back around with his card. He couldn't even come to the front and speak to me himself. No apology, nothing. Oh! And I even sent an email to corporate last month when this all happened, and nothing. Not one word from them. Like, you literally almost killed me. The least you could do is say sorry. I'm doooone. read more

I dropped my car off on Tuesday 11/8/18 for NY State Inspection. I anticipated the car would need some service to pass. I have not once been contacted by the facility about the progress or work required. I called them multiple times. Each time I was given a different explaination and told that I would be contacted when the car was completed. I first called 11/10/18. I was informed that the store tried to contact me on Thursday 11/8/18 can( I was home all day and received no calls in my landline or cell. On1/11/18 I called again I was informed it was not done. But would be done that evening and that I would be contacted. I confirmed my phone number with the associate helping me. I was not contacted. It is now 11/17/18. I still do not have my car. My wife tried to contact the store prior to the weekend and was told "they would need to look into it" and that she would be contacted. She was not. The poor communication, lack of organization and slow pace of the work force me to unequivocally regret using this facility and recommend others avoid it for service. Sales and parts are still reasonable. read more

ordered a battery online and made an appointment for 4 days later. They did not have the battery when i got there. had an appointment took 1hour 45 minutes to install. I left and realized on the way home they charged me the wrong price. I went back and they had a great deal of trouble figuring out the price with a calculator. The clerk asked to other employees how to figure it out. I did the calculation in my head and was within a few cents. so much for today's' education. I will never go back there read more

Was told 30 min for a nail in tire fix. After hour and half still waitn. Apparently forgot about my car or maybe no money to b made from my car Very mad and disappointed. Never again. Very rude to me read more

Never again, made the appointment online for 8AM, arrived on time, in fact 10 minutes to 8 to make sure, left to eat at Panera Bread. I was advised to return within an hour or so, I did exactly that. I had to wait some more until a guy comes from the back to tell me," oh sorry I forgot to call you, we had to send for the tires from another location because the ones you ordered online never arrived". Then after they finally put the tires on, he had the audacity to say I had to wait until two cars had the wheels aligned. How was it that I was the first one there and my appointment was the first appointment, they made a mistake and don't even tell me and make me wait some more behind people that had appointments after me. I ended leaving at 12:30. The service sucks never again. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I can't comment on their actual service, because after wasting half a day with them, the service was not performed. Let's start from the beginning. My boyfriend gifted me a new car stereo with installation as a birthday gift. Hooray! He got the day off of work unexpectedly, and we decided to bang it out during the week. 2 places couldn't accommodate, so I did a google search, and found Pep Boys does car installations. Supposedly. Since it was an hour trip, we called ahead to find if they had a vacancy. They did. Rather than actually check with someone who would know, the technician wanted to tell my boyfriend to not worry, to just come on down. My boyfriend asked to please speak to someone who would know they schedule. He was put through to someone who confirmed availability, and asked what my make/model was. After plugging in some info, he realized they lacked the install kit for my car. So, my boyfriend offered for us to stop on the way, and bring it to them. This was acceptable. So, we did just that. We arrived, and were given a 2 hour time estimate, and that they would call if done early. We left. About an hour and fifty minutes later, we got a call which I thought was going to be them telling me my car was ready. Nope! Not so fast. You see, they did not have the necessary harness for my car. They thought they did, but they didn't. We, now having wasted several hours, and $20 in gas, attempted to help them by going to Best Buy to get the harness. After a little more headache and being put on hold, we decided to just cut our losses and go get my car. If they were professional, they would have 1) gone not just to other Pep Boys, but to the Best Buy located a half mile away, and gotten the part they needed; and 2) offered some type of token incentive in lieu of apology. We got neither. In fact, neither the saleswoman we had dealt with nor the technician were there when we went to retrieve my car. We got my keys back without even a word of apology for having wasted several hours of our time, due to their own incompetence and apparent unwillingness to do the right thing and secure the needed part without involving us. After all, we already made one stop to get a supply for them, which is already pretty funny for a chain like Pep Boys. I will NEVER go to Pep Boys ever again--for anything. Neither will my boyfriend. It's like hiring a painter who asks you if you don't mind picking up some paint on the way, and who then calls you 2 hour later to say they forgot their brushes. The incompetence is staggering and the refusal to offer even a verbal apology is just insulting. Get your act together, kids. read more
