Wow, I'm not sure why this place had such a low rating, I've had nothing but the best experience here. The manager, Marcus, who said he's been with the company 6 years, told me he just took back over after a series of poor managers. My husband's car needed brake pads replaced and rotors machined. Every other place (dealership, Christian Bros, Clifford) were quoting me ~$260/axle. Just Brakes had a special for $99, (including brake fluid & tire rotation)! Jacourey took care to walk me out to the car & show me, point by point, everything he saw that needed attention. The manager, Marcus, even offered me an extra soda he had in his lunch kit & gave my daughter a pop! The guys were so friendly, I didn't feel pressured to buy anything more than what I came in for. It's a small shop, but I would definitely come here again. It has everything: quick service, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great customer service, super competitive prices. To put it simply It's a con shop!!!! Don't bring your car here without a big jar of ky jelly. I thought I would save money buy going here after my mechanic quoted me $278.00 to replace my break pads/shoes. Nothing else needed to be done. But according to just breaks with their $99.00 service it was going to cost me a whopping $400+ not including tax or the $51.00 break fluid bleed and inspection fee. So needless to say it cost my $57.00 to learn NEVER to go to or recommend this rip off company to anyone. So don't make the same mistake I made EVER. Don't trust this company BBB will be contacted. My car was towed after it was having acceleration issues on a Saturday, they didn't pick my car up from a repair shop until Wednesday to the wrong location so I had to call around to find my car, Pep Boys has towing for $50 which was in a 10 mile range I chose them because I thought they were honest. After I found my car I spoke with Donell the manager he asked me what was wrong with the car I told him that the car was having acceleration issues in maybe need a fuel injector, he replied " we're going to take a look at your car in let you know what the problem is." He called me back in told me that to get the problem fix parts in labor world be about $2500." I said "ok go ahead in fix it." This was on a Thursday. When I called he said that he was just about to call me because I need a tune up, in spark plugs in coils and that my head gasket had a leak and needed to be replace." I ask "how much will that be." He relies he wasn't sure but he'll let me know." When I called he "said that my back breaks where squeaking so they changed that without my premission. Donell calls me on a Saturday in said your vehicle has a lot of oil in he was doing a oil change but it's running smoothly." I asked for the total he said "$3917.22, then he says my transmission is going out and I would need a new one, and they had a shop to transmission shop." I told him "no" I get to Pep Boys took my car for a test drive in it had no acceleration my whole reason of dropping it off then Donell put the blame on me, Injust assumed what was wrong, Donell said he would fix the problem for free because his supervisor didn't test drive my car he just hooked it up to the machine, the next day I picked it up it was running smoothing for 3 days and the brakes started squeaking, I took my car to another mechanic shop I showed them repairs was done in the check engine light is on, after a few hours they called me to come look at my car I was charged repairs that's wasn't done and it was oil all over my engine. A month later: I was backing out my driveway my brakes were squeaking badly, not to mention my vehicle starts to leak oil. On my receipt it says the brakes in rotors has been changed in the valve cover gasket was remove in replace. When I took my vehicle to Firestone Complete Auto Care they informed me that my valve cover gaskets would need to be removed and replace. read more

I was thoroughly pleased with the service I received at the Just Brakes shop in Humble, TX. The Manager and service personnel were professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. I took my truck there for a brake job, but after removing all four tires, the manager told me my brakes were still very good and there was a small defect in the pad and a little sanding treated it. No charge for the diagnosis or service. The manager indicated I had another 30-40k miles remaining on my pads. I know where I'll go when it is time to change them! read more

I had a horrible experience after getting my breaks evaluated. The attendant inspected my car and gave me a quote for almost $500 worth of work. When I asked if that was the absolute best price he stated it was. It sounded high to me, so I called my mechanic to see if he worked on breaks. I had made arrangements to get a second opinion and asked the attendant to take the car down. He then gave me a different (cheaper) quote for the work using the basic break products. At this point I'm asking myself why I did not receive both quotes at the same time. As he handed me the keys he told me that the breaks should be fixed as soon as possible. I drove the car away from the place and immediately noticed that the car was shaking and making more noise than it was before I brought it in. The car was drivable before and now I barely made it to a near by parking lot before having to shut the car off. I called the shop to discuss my car being in worse shape than when I brought it in and no one answered the phone. I called multiple times and no one answered. I was the only customer in that shop the entire time I was there and he certainly was not busy. The car was not drivable on the highway so I couldn't make it to my mechanic. Thankfully, there was a Break Check near by where I was able to have the car looked at again. The quote I was given for the work was cheaper than even the cheapest quote I was given by the attendant at Just breaks. Just incompetent service and the fact that the attendant did not sufficiently put my car back like it was before and therefore almost put my life in danger made me see red. I would never tell anyone to go here! Took the car in for brakes left and came back after 1 hour it sounded worse after spending over 500 you would think they would work. They said the fixed it and nope went back said oh it needs to have some lube nope dropped it off sat they said oh the drums need to be replaced. What?! You replaced them last weekend! Oh we did was his reply. Left again came back after hours because I had to have someone drive the car and opened my car they broke my blinker my engine light is on and my poor car sounds horrible! They destroyed my car!! And when you complain they get even by messing with the car. Going to contact attorney general and bbb if the home office does not call me back. I spoke to my son about my brakes & an oil change & offered to change my brakes on Saturday. I went and bought the brakes & he replaced them & not for no $300 plus labor. After my son had change the oil & changed the brakes he was still hearing the leaking of air, so he had removed everything that just brakes had removed to try to find the leak & the brake booster that was placed in my car was not a brand new $333 pc. This was a pc from the junk yard, because it had blue markings on it, it wasn't bright, or shiny like new part should be. It blended in with the rest of the parts in my motor. It was determined by Curtis that either Just brakes didn't replace the seal for the brake booster or it was a defected one. I have an actual video of my car leaking air from the "so called brand new $333 dollar pc". My son called me while I was at work & advised that the brake booster was NOT new, that it was the cause of the air leaking noise that could be heard inside & outside of the vehicle. I immediately call the mgr at just brakes & tell him the problems I was having & that my son would be up there with my car & the video to show him the leak & my car was NOT fixed. When my son arrived the mgr Marcus was a complete ASSHOLE to my son. When my son walked in the mgr immediately told my son, he does not need to see no video that he knows exactly what is wrong with my car. (In my opinion if knew exactly what was going, admittance of pure guilt) He knew that part he put on my car was DEFECTIVE to begin with that type of attitude. So the mgr calls me back & asked to keep my car overnight & I said Ummmmm NO, I have to get home tonight & come to work tomorrow. So he asked me to bring it to him on Sunday morning & drop off before I go to work. October 16 I take my car in & go inside & Marcus starts off immediately & he said he would make things right, and that is when I said hold up, I am the paying customer, I just paid you $500, and my car still is NOT FIXED & I have a few things to say. I was extremely angry that I paid $333 for a part that he probably paid $30 for from a junkyard, he advised he could prove he didn't with the receipt. That isnt proof of NOTHING, the color of the part matched the color of the other parts in my engine, shouldn't be shiny, new, no paint markings on it. I told him he would fix my car to my satisfaction or I would see him in court or I would have his shop shut down or I would have his job. I told him he was messing with people's lives & safety. That if I got in an accident due his faulty workmanship, he would be behind bars. I left my car with him & went to work. I received a call @ 16:51 from the other mgr Steve & he advised the part was replaced from oreilly & that my o2 sensor was bad & needed to be replaced. I told him I would get a 2nd opinion that I didn't want them touching my car anymore. 13 minutes later Steven calls me back @ advises he has some bad news, that as they were backing my car out of the shop there was a pc of metal that was on the floor & it sliced my tire. He said he would replace it, but it would be Monday morning before he could replace it advising there weren't any tire shops open, Ummmmm NTB less than a mile from their facility was opened until 6 pm. So at 5:04 they couldn't go get a tire, no! I am beyond PISSED at the moment and still angry over this whole situation. I get off work around 730, they got the donut tire out of the back of my car & put it on. When I get there to pick up my car, I get in & start it & YOU CAN STILL HEAR THE LEAK. THERE IS GREASE MARKS ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL OF OVER THE INTERIOR OF MY CAR, ON THE CARPET, THE WIRES WERE HANGING DOWN FROM UNDER THE STEERING COLUMN.THERE IS GREASE MARKS ALLLLLLLLLLLLL OVER THE BACK CARPET WHERE MY DONUT TIRE WAS. I drive my car to my son's house which is maybe 5 miles from just brakes & he shines the flashlight in under the hood & the 2nd brake booster was still an old looking color, it was NOT SHINY or new!! I seriously DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO MY CAR, BUT THE PART REPLACED TWICE IS NOT WAS NOT NEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I turn my car off & call my bf to talk to him & when I tried to start my car, it would not start!!! My car had to be towed to the dealership to see what the hell these worthless mechanics did to my car. I demand a full refund of $477.08, the cost to have my car towed of $80, the cost of the dealership diagnostic test of $132 & any other charges that are affiliated with whatever these mechanics did to screw me & my car. I want my car cleaned & the it paid for by Just brakes. Oh and I have pictures I am filing a complaint with the BBB as well!! This place needs to be shut down. I was told by the Hyundai dealership in Humble TX that my car needed front brake pads. They had about 10% of the pads left. I went to Just Brakes in Humble and their quote was a little less than the dealership quote. Rip Off!!!!!!! I took my truck in this shop that was completely empty, there was about 6 guys just standing around smoking. So I got to the front desk and asked the guy what was going to be the cost of looking at my brakes...then he said 99$ and started to speak a million miles a second I asked him, again...how much it would cost to give me an pricing he gave me dirty look and said "if there is no work done we wont charge you". So I agreed to let them look and give me an pricing of what I was looking at. Well they came back with and 800$ bill!!! Holy Sh!!!! For breaks??? He said that I desperate needed to change my rotors and blah blah....I told them no thanks boy, just throw the tires back on so I could get outta there. They were not happy about that, and tried to argue with me!!! They were very reluctant to put my tires back on, for a moment I though I was going to have to call the police out. Finally after about 15min I got the tires put on and the "manager" came out to me( I was watching them put my tires back on, God it was a horrible feeling getting grilled by 6 men) and asked me to sign a paper saying that if I drove out of their shop and my truck "caught fire" they weren't responsible ((you know trying to scare me.)) I told that son of a gun if I pulled out of there and my truck caught on fire they would be hearing from my lawyer!!! HORRIBLE PLACE, for the love of God don't go to these people!!!! I'm an old man and on a fixed income, I tell you what I felt like pray to the vultures when I was there, it was an awful feeling. God bless, I went don't the road to the shop across from the water fountain and got everything done for 180$ and that's including my oil change. read more
