Scrapped the bottom of the vehicle trying to get in to the gas station to get out from incoming traffic. Our son was in the car freaked out. We contacted corporate since they say they want to make it right. But they don't really want to make it right. We only asked for a refund on the brake job because we can't trust they did it right and we now have to get it done somewhere else and for the repair on the damages done that the repair shop said we would need. My daughter went here twice (for the first time and last time). She got oil change and they talked her into needing an alignment. Fair enough. We went to dealership to have recall work done yesterday. The multi point inspection found the suspension and alignment were not at spec. They also found an oil leak from the drain plug gasket not being installed properly. It was damaged. The oil change cost me $39.95 (parts and labor), and the alignment cost $119.95. Brake check cost me $159.90 to repair their inferior work performance. That is on top of the amount we paid them to accomplish basically simple tasks. There are many choices available to us all; I guarantee Brake Check will NEVER be on our family's list again. Too bad, our family has 7 vehicles in our fleet. Would not recommend. When I tried to use a coupon here the employee said, "put that away, I'll give you 50% off which is worth more than that!" Long story short, they gave me a meager discount and refused to honor the coupon. I don't really care about the money so much as the fact that they were dishonest with me (not to mention rude). Very disappointing service considering I use to bring my other truck to this location. I decided to bring my wife's truck to get an oil change and the gentleman asked if I had been here before. I told him yes but not with this vehicle. He said oh then you should qualify for the 20 oil change, I was pretty excited. After about 25 minutes an up seller told me a needed a ton of other work to the vehicle and it would be x amount. I politely declined and said I was fine with just the oil chance.... this is where it gets interesting. They swung my wife's truck around and told me I was ready. Went to pay and a different guy was ringing me up at the time told me it was $47.... I kind of stayed there confused and ask him why it was so much from the original $20 oil change I came in for. He said it's because I got high mileage oil. Which I don't remember him asking if I wanted it. Like an idiot I paid before I double checked. I looked at the receipt, regular oil was used, not high mileage like I was told. I asked to talk to someone on why I was lied to about the initial price and then why I was lied to a second time saying I used a higher priced oil then I was given. Spoke to a lady that worked there and she said there is nothing she could do and hopes she sees me again. I told her I wanted to speak to the manager... apparently she was and I told her I wanted to speak to a district supervisor, which she told me, I'll put it in the notes but they rarely call. I was quite upset at this point and just left cause I was going to get nowhere with her. I waited two weeks for a phone call from a supervisor and still have not received a phone call. I am still waiting to talk to someone because lying to my face is my biggest pet peeve and horrible to be doing to customers. read more

Really horrible experience today. It took 1.5 hours for me to get a simple oil change & filter change. I should mention there wasn't a wait, it literally took that long for them to work on my vehicle. After the service was finished they took my car for a drive & were gone for a good 15 minutes. No clue where they went or why...$120 & 1.5 hours later I will ONLY be returning next time to get my free oil change (buy 3 get 1)....then I'll be finding another shop to go to. The lady couldn't explain to me why the paperwork said "oil filter included with oil change" - yet there was a separate charge for a filter. If they are going to charge for a filter, fine, but don't advertise then that it's included in oil change price & print that on my receipt. After an hour and 35 minutes waiting...They came in to tell me my car was next?! On the way home my car started shaking. I called the manager and he said it was making that noise because there was a crack in my air filter cover? And that the whole got bigger when they opened my hood? And that I needed to duct tape it. I live in the neighborhood behind and he took me home since I had my baby with me. I told him I would walk back when the car was ready. When my car was ready he called but I couldn't answer because I was on the phone with our insurance. He noticed that it looked like rain was coming and didn't want me walking in the rain with my baby. He drove my car back and walked back himself! TERRIBLE OUTCOME! DO NOT GO THERE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! I WOULD GIVE IT zero STAR RATING IF I COULD. Summary of my experience at Brake Check: I went in for a brake job and the outcome was to replace the motor. Car Details: 2006 Scion XB 1st Weekend: I took my car in for a brake job on a weekend. They charged me approximately $500 for it. They recommended to replace the VALVE COVER GASKET because they noticed ONE leak. (THEY DID NOT MENTIONED ANY OTHER LEAKS) 2nd Weekend: I took it in for them to replace the VALVE COVER GASKET. They charged me approximately $300. After the VALVE COVER GASKET: I started hearing a crackling noise after some time. I checked my oil and noticed it was empty. I added oil and fill it to the correct level. I called Brake Check right away. They answer rude and mad when I mentioned that they had not fix the leak. 3rd Weekend: I took it in for them to fix the LEAK AGAIN. They found out that they had forgotten to put all the BOLTS on the VALVE COVER GASKET. They assumed their mistake and apologized. They mentioned that they could not find who did the job. I was not mad at this time. I understood that they made a mistake. 4th Weekend: After a week of driving my car, I noticed it was still LEAKING. I called Brake Check again. They asked me to bring it in for the 4TH time. This time they told me that THEY HAD FOUND A NEW LEAK COMING FROM MY CRANKSHAFT SEAL. They also added that I needed a NEW MOTOR or ENGINE REBUILT. I did not know what to tell them, I was i was shocked. I am an engineer and know enough about how cars work. QUOTE FOR NEW MOTOR: $8,200! I decided to take it to a real mechanic. The mechanic will charge me maximum $250 to fix the leak. I REALLY RECOMMEND NOT TO GO FOR MECHANIC WORK AT BRAKE CHECK. THEY MIGHT KNOW HOW TO DO BRAKES, WHICH I DOUBT IT, SINCE THEY NEVER GOT RID OF THE NOISE. I NORMALLY DON'T GIVE BAD REVIEW BECAUSE WE ARE HUMANS AND WE MAKE MISTAKES, BUT FOR TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE I WILL GIVE YOU A BAD REVIEW. read more

When I returned they said they used Fully Synthetic and I would have to pay for the difference. Then they proceeded to charge me for a full extra qt of oil. Will never return for any type of service. ONE star for lack of option to give zero: This place is full of dishonest employees who clearly aren't supervised closely enough by their managers if in fact they are supervised. My husband and I have had two awful experiences here that we finally were able to verify were caused by this location. After the first time, we had a dealer do maintenance on our vehicle and cleared its health. We then took it back here to verify what had been done and take advantage of the free service we were forced to pay for the first time around but wouldn't complete because they told us we needed an even more crazy expensive service. Now that the problem had been fixed, we went back to have the already paid for service completed and they not only wouldn't honor it but told us after checking the car that the suspension was very messed up and we needed a $900 fix. My husband told them repeatedly that our vehicle was under warranty and so we would just take it to the dealer-something they very strongly tried to sway us from doing. After having the dealer check it out again, dealer discovered not only was the suspension fine (of course because that was checked the time before less than two mo this ago) but also that something on the frame had been loosened-something that the dealer blames on brake check because this is not something that would have happened on its own-however, this loosened piece was not related to the suspension. BC was trying to "play" us. I have reported this location and will continue to do what I can to dissuade customers from servicing there.
