Arrived at the store only to be told that they were not honoring that appointment because all of the mechanics were getting ready to go home. Funny how they charged me a $99 diagnostic fee when I told them specifically what the issue was: the engine fan is not working. Then they write on the receipt: Diagnostic result: fan not working. BEWARE!!! I USED to be a regular customer of Pep Boys of Brick, but I have gone to them for the LAST time. Here's what they do: you go in for one thing and they add other things without your knowledge or consent, and of course charge you for them. For example, a few months ago I went in for an oil change which I typically do there. After I paid the bill, and get in my car and look over the work, I noticed that they added a gas treatment to my gas tank without my permission or request and charged me for it. I walked back in and I was told that that's what they do now. The last straw came yesterday. I had a nail in my tire which I needed to have repaired. No problem they said so I sat there while they made the repair and like an idiot I paid the bill before looking at the various items. In addition to the almost $30 to plug the tire, THEY CHARGED ME AN ADDITIONAL $5.00... just to reset the tire light monitor, (calibration) even though I never asked them to do that --and I could do it myself in under 10 seconds! So... Does anybody know of any other reputable place in Brick where I can get my oil changed periodically and other light mechanical work? Had warranty work done through Silver Rock here. The N55 in BMWs are notorious for blowing charge pipes even on stock boost levels. They also didn't seem to have much clue what I was talking about despite being "BMW certified." I assume everything is okay and this is the only assumption I'll make going forward. But I haven't had any reason to open my hood to check until I ran low on windshield fluid. If I pull the lever my hood latch pops on one side but not the other. Now there's no way to get under my hood without these clowns taking half the front body off. It obviously worked when the closed it prior but suddenly doesn't after they touch it. I first called corporate because I had a feeling they were going to try and avoid blame. Fair enough, legal stuff and liability whatever. Corporate wanted me to call the shop directly and settle it with them. So I did. The first person seemed fine with helping me and even asked me to bring my car 40 miles to the shop to get looked at, but the manager had to approve any repairs. Not doing that and getting roped into more work or not having my car for days. So I called a few days later when the manager was in. The shop manager made very sure to tell me it's not his problem and that I should go to a body shop. I made it super clear I wasn't that mad. I just needed the latch fixed because it obviously worked when you did the repair, now suddenly doesn't. He told me that's an assumption and not his problem. To which I let him know corporate already said it was covered under warranty and to ask you to set up the work. He still told me not his problem find a body shop. I only had to open my hood for my windshield fluid, it's a good thing I was leaking oil or coolant and needed to top it up or wouldn't have a motor right now. Honestly I would be less angry if he didn't have an attitude when he picked up. "Yo what?" is not how you answer a call with an already upset customer. Funny thing is neither person gave me their name so I don't even know who to say to avoid besides the shop entirely. They may have a competent mechanic or two, but we'll never know and the management further shows it's a place to avoid. If the manager doesn't care and shifts blame to you, why would the mechanics not? See how the poor clown hurts his employees? I reached out to corporate and regardless of whatever help they offer (which I doubt they will) I shouldn't be dealing with this. There's a warranty and the damage is clearly your fault. It's easily fixable with a little time and either a cable or latch that don't cost that much. Just take the L on the labor and parts fix your mistake and get a positive review and more money from me. If he offered to fix my now broken hood I'd have had my oil changed and my alignment/balancing checked while it was in the shop. I'll spend the money elsewhere at a reputable shop that won't make me come back to fix their mistakes. read more

Took my vehicle in for a simple oil change. My car had NO physical damage to it, when I got my car back the back bumper was all scraped. The manager accused me of assuming that I didn't know about my vehicle. The manager Was extremely rude, nasty, condescending and unwilling to accept any liability for the damage that was done to my vehicle. I would not send anyone ever in there to any work done on their vehicle as this appointment was scheduled at 10am and no work began until 11am. The manager also tried to scare me into two new tires when I just had put four new tires on the card 3 months ago. I really thought trying to intimidate a woman was a thing of the past I guess not for that Pepe boys!!!!! He also said he was a certified body work tech he rubbed the number and said this is old I told him with my first phone call that someone pushed the dirt that was on the bumper down onto the scrape and he told me I didn't know what I was talking about it was old. This car is 6.5 years old with 30000 miles on it. It's our extra car that we leave in the driveway. So again if you need work done go to Legacy automotive in brick. I took my car in for an oil change but I expected to need more work, I knew my tires were worn down and my brakes were getting worn out. I also found out I needed a battery. The manager Frank was great as was Mark, the man working the front counter. They gave me a discount and found them to be very friendly and accommodating. First of all they think everyone that walks in there is an idiot so they try to get you for everything. My most recent visit was for an oil change. After an hour they told me I needed 1700$ worth of work done. And I should really get it done because it was really urgent and blah blah. Also told me I needed my rotors resurfaced. I let him talk to me like I was an idiot but everyone knows they don't resurface rotors anymore. It's a waste of time and money. When he saw I wasn't giving in he magically lowered the price to 1300. I still said no. I since took the car to 2 different mechanics who took the tires off and everything inspected everywhere and said I need 0$ worth of work done. 0$. Shame on pep boys for trying to take advantage of people. Why because I was a female? Disgusting. When I called pep boys to complain he kept asking me which mechanics I took the car to. Why? First that doesn't matter and second none of your business. Why doesn't he focus on the fact that he is a liar. Pathetic. Obviously won't be back and don't suggest any one else going either. As a side note while I was there another customer came in with a truck for his company. After he was explaining that he wanted the truck checked out Gino asked him who would be paying for it - him or his boss. Why would he ask that? So if it was the boss paying he could charge him more? I've been going back and forth with a check engine light for months trying to fix it. I knew the problem was going to cost a couple hundred at most. I brought my car in for a diagnosis to tell me exactly which part I would need. I told the man I don't want any actual work done and he literally said "we'll see," which might of been whatever but then I take a look at the reviews and there's tons of complaints about this shop being a scam. Sure enough I get a call saying it's going to cost a couple grand to fix. I pick up the car, now theres a whole new set of symptoms. Next time I drove the car the engine blew. This place is a scam. Read the reviews and save yourself money! There's more on google. CHANGE! If you see my below review from May, I praised this Pep Boys. WAIT! They have changed management and have mostly new techs and THEY HAVE LOST MY BUSINESS! I dropped my car off this morning at 9:30am for an oil change, Diagnosis of an engine light, and for a suspension check-up. Jim (the 'new manager') told me that he would call me with the details before they did any repairs. While he was entering my car in the system, I called the taxi company to take me to the local movies theater while I wait. At 1:00pm when I called to inquire why I hadn't received a call, they said "Oh, we haven't brought your car inside yet". 3.5 hours when my appointment was at 9:30 and they HADN'T EVEN LOOKED AT IT? The manager knew I had gone to the movies while I waited for them to DO THEIR JOB! Oh well - NEVER AGAIN... I am also calling Bryan Boyce, the District Manager. Went for another opinion I was told just a compressor... and that it looked as tho only 2 screws were removed so he has no idea how they could say I needed almost $2000 worth of work done. So most "tire places" are pretty much the same, but here they have a small but friendly staff. They are actually on time with appointment, get the job done right, and the overall experience is better than most. I like that it isn't a huge location, and it feels like you are getting personal one on one service. Kudos to Lisa, and Jerry both professional and down to earth, and all the mechanics. This is the worst of the worst save time go someplace else there is absolutely no customer service and no management in this store . workers in the store have a totally bad attitude. went in for new tires and a wheel alignment had to go back three times for the wheel alignment and still couldn't get it right The car needed a wheel alignment because the steering wheel wasn't straight now the car pulls to the right and all I get is a BS story The first time I went back they wouldn't even look at the car even though I have an appointment and I had to leave and go back for a third time and they still wouldn't redo it the alignment the store is a total joke read more

This is an excellent place to go for a quick and good oil change. They go above and beyond and treat their customers so well. When my car was finished the very nice young man (Angel) gave me my receipt and keys that I threw in my purse (mind you I am 67 and was somewhat preoccupied with my next task) and then I think I asked or he said the keys were in the car. Well - this shop's mgr. brought the shop to almost a standstill and was ready to look at some video to find "lost keys" and of course, I was not patient and kind (my usual) and acted like a fool. I stopped and looked down and sitting in my handbag were the lost keys. At this point, I had to run and the people in this store could not have been more kind or professional! Don't know the managers name but, sir, THANK YOU and I APOLOGIZE for not being more mindful. And Angel is an angel, his name suits him well. Very unhappy customer...I brought my car here Pep boys in Brick and bought 4 new tires and installed. Now my tire broke, two studs broke and made my car go out of control. I towed my car back here for Lisa to call and say the other three tire lug nuts were loose also. I have been dealing with Lisa after Jerry (store manager?)wouldn't answer me anymore, saying there was nothing he can do for me, tow it to him, let him look to see if it was their fault and it would cost about $175 to fix (As my car still remains there.)I then put a complaint in and someone from corporate that is 3 hours away got back to me. Lisa then called saying she heard from corporate and wanted to offer me $400. 00 Price with 1/2 off of $200.00 After 3 days of going back and forth of prices to charge me- they want to offer me a 1/2 price of $483.00 to fix this problem when it's there problem to begin with... which price I ask is 1/2 off really?? Why am I paying for your error? Three people could of been dead!
