Deserves "0" stars. Absolute worst customer service! Came in at store open. John, the service counter technician, what a horrible employee. Was throwing a tantrum with callers, placing them on hold for tens of minutes at a time. Would pick up the caller and lie to them saying he had multiple callers ahead of them when there were not. He was very rude to customers. He threw open the front door slamming it against the metal rail because he had to go outside to retrieve a customers vehicle information. He was absolutely rude to the service technicians. Wouldn't listen to my needs as a customer. I was inquiring about a particular tire and he would repeatedly cut me off and tell me that he had no tires for my vehicle. Not to mention he was constantly sniffling, wiping his "runny" nose, and touching everything. Disgusting hygiene. Did not see a single cashier to ring up customer purchases. One guy got tired of waiting and left. As a manager I cannot support this kind of behavior from staff. Absolutely the worst! I had a 10 am Monday appointment. I called to say I was running (15 min) late and should I still come in. The answer was yes -- but give us 'a little time'. So I went, and again I was no more than 20 minutes late. When I got there I was told it would be some time this afternoon! I guess everyone has a their way to define 'a little time' -- but seriously. The guy (I guess he was in charge) didn't even look at my appointment or ask me what I was there to have done. I simply needed a headlight replaced (and a tire rotation). Customer service is apparently not their thing. Maybe they simply were making too much money that day? Why did I see 3 (THAT'S THREE) empty bays? Judging by the reviews here too many have had a similar experience. Maybe the guys there were planning to not keep working there so it didn't matter? Or maybe the Pep boys at that location is being sold and a really good repair company will take it over!!! I too would have chosen NO STARS, but that was not an option. Just an update... the lady who hung up on me... her name is Lynette. I would like to call her out as I once worked in this industry myself. Never have I EVER hung up on someone. I've had my oil changed here at least three times with great, personal service from the same technician, so I made an online appointment for 10am in a Saturday expecting the same great service that I had in my last visit. I went in 20 minutes early. The customer service ppl weren't with customers, but still did not greet me. I had an alternator replaced and was charged in excess of $600. A new alternator cost $109 on Parts Geek. I looked to see what a normal time would be to make this repair Mobil Oil states it would take 60 min. to make the repair. This would mean that I was charged $500 an hour for the repair. I made an appointment online and received a confirmation email , but when I arrived at 9am for my "appointment" I was told I didn't have one because it was after a cut off !! I would give Pep Boys a minus if possible. Today was my second time and I will NEVER go back again. Made an appointment to just get my tires switched out. I sat there for 1 hour and 45 minutes and never got the job done. I had to leave to return to work and was unable to wait another minute. I told them when I arrived at 2:00, for my appointment that I needed to leave no later than 3:45 and no way could they get the job done. Last time I was there they charged me to fix my brake light and never fixed the light. No more chances. read more

Avoid this location especially! My fiancée took our car to this location to have the alternator replaced. During the repair the mechanic found that the alternator belt also had micro cracks and needed to be replaced. When the "repairs" were completed she found that the car was making a low grinding noise that it hadn't been before. Long story short, she took the car back three additional times to have the problem checked and each time was given either a bad excuse (the belt was dusty), a bad explanation (didn't have the correct tool to put on the belt so it was just forced on), or an accusation from the mechanic (Your car was making that noise before you brought it to us. You're just trying to get a free repair.) After all of this she took the car to her regular mechanic and while the rebuilt alternator that was installed was fine the alternator belt was put on BACKWARDS! She went back to Pep Boys today and the store manager did reimburse her for the full cost of the repairs made by her regular mechanic. However, the mechanic made one last accusation (You're accusing me of bad quality work. I never touched your car.). Knowing my fiancée she made no such accusation although having to have the car looked at four times to have the same problem "looked at" may certainly imply that. If you value your vehicle don't have it looked at or touched by these guys. Any possible savings simply aren't worth the potential extra headaches and frustrations. read more

Awesome service!!! Staff is attentive, helpful, informative and fast. Would definitely recommend this store. We bought a new set of tires but the TPM sensors illuminated on the dashboard two days later... The manager replaced one faulty sensor, no charge. Next visit, a diligent mechanic found a faulty gasket. Problem solved! Sales people are knowledgeable and know how to locate the right products to give you the most bang for your buck. read more

This place always is trying to get you to buy things you do not need in their service department. I bought tires here with free rotation and every time I go for rotation they try to sell me something. The last time I was there for the free rotation they tried to charge me $50 for a lug hut they said they could not get off. They were the last people to touch those lugnuts! So, they did rotate the tires but then the car was totally out of alignment when they gave it back. They messed with something! This place is NOT to be trusted in my opinion. When you go to Discount Tires, Costco, or Sams Club for rotation they do it as part of your purchase of the tires without trying to charge you for something unecessary. Avoid this place as the attitude is that if they jack up the car they wany $ you already gave them! This is not the only auto shop out there with this attitude! read more

Probably the worst customer service experience EVER. These people are unprofessional and uncourteous. The so called "Express Service" was nowhere to be found because I made an appointment to get several maintenance services done on my vehicle at 5PM and my vehicle didn't make it to the bay until 6PM and that was AFTER I went to the service desk and asked how long it would take. From the moment I walked in I should have known it was bad news. The female that works at this location was more concerned with getting off at 5PM than helping one last customer. I had my paperwork since I had scheduled my appointment online and I was still asked what services I was there for. As I was naming the services I wanted I was interrupted when it came to the wheel alignment because I had described a weird shake that would happen when I was going at a high velocity and then braking rapidly. The female interrupted me to tell what I can guess is their "supervisor" and right off the bat he tells me my vehicle doesn't need a wheel alignment because that's not the issue. Regardless I had purchased 4 brand new tires and made a 1500 mile trip from Washington to Colorado so I still needed a wheel alignment. Finally I was checked in after 30 minutes and was told by the female I would be given an estimate of how long it would take. I walked around the facility and then sat down and 6PM comes around and the female had already left and my vehicle was still in the parking lot. Which takes me back to what I mentioned before...I went to the service desk and I explained to the guy that I wasn't told how long my vehicle would take because she had already left so he went back and found out. The guy comes back and says my vehicle should be ready by 7:30PM. I had to wait there because I had no other choice. In a bay that holds 10 vehicles only 4 were in there so they weren't terribly busy. Finally, I see my vehicle getting worked on, the oil change first, the alignment next and then the tire rotation. Now, I had also requested to get my AC checked out because it was pushing out hot air. She tells me the free AC check consists of the mechanic cleaning out some filter, making sure there are no leaks and refilling the freon. I said let's go with that and if there needs to be a repair they'll let me know. at 7:30PM I see my vehicle sitting in the bay with no one around it and this goes for about 15 minutes. During this entire time I was there no one EVER came to give me a status update on my vehicle! The "supervisor" comes and asks me "so what's wrong with your AC besides it pushing out hot air"...I was stumped. The AC IS PUSHING OUT HOT AIR, THAT'S WHAT WRONG!!!! He goes on to tell me that they can check it but that it'll be about $100 dollars. Are you freaking kidding me! Completely worthless. I told them I didn't want anything done, to forget about it because I was just ready to leave. My vehicle gets brought around and still no one comes to tell me that I'm all set to cash out. After 10 minutes I go to the service desk wait in line and go to the same guy from before. i give him my coupon, say absolutely nothing to him, he gives me a rewards card so the Tire Rotation is free, I pay and I get the hell out of there. I didn't leave this location until 8:30PM, yes the guy at the service desk apologized but it's too late, the damage was done. BEWARE OF THIS LOCATION, THEY'RE A JOKE! read more

Do not make appointments online. I saw previous reviews and called to make sure the appointment was still available. The person I spoke with Dustin, said to bring the car in a little before 12, which I did and he said it will be about an hour. Around 1:15 I went up to ask for my keys back because I hadn't seen my car move in 35 minutes. He told me the car was done. I asked why wasn't I told and why did I sit there for an additional 35 minutes. He said he was so busy. I was watching him, he wasn't so busy for 35 minutes. The service was fast and decent however Dustin is a mess and probably should be trained better or look for a job somewhere else. He also tried to have me pay an additional $20 for the synthetic oil change until I called him out on it. He said, "show me the coupon" and I replied, you said I didn't need one. He said "yeah, it comes off when I put in the discount" to which I replied, "why did you ask me for the coupon?" He had no response. Pep Boys might be alright if not for Dustin. read more

Dishonest people I went in because my wheel was shaking I thought I needed an alignment was told to have the breaks checked I set an appointment waited 7 hrs to haves my car looked at and new breaks put on told it would take 4hrs to top it off I was charged a $35 miscellaneous fee after I asked several times for an exact price was quoted for the brakes $199 plus taxes I asked was there any extra fees that were not stated I was told again $199 plus tax no service fee no disposal fee that the $199 inculcated breaks, rotors and labor I did not notice the fee until I was home I was ready to after waiting 7hrs . It also would have been nice had the recommend a tire balance which they did not even after I ask if after the breaks were replaced would that fix the shaking issues since they said no alignment was needed... only to get on the highway the next day and still have a shaking wheel which I went to a different auto shop to be advised I needed to have them balanced read more

I prefer not to write bad reviews, but maybe I can save a life! That is how bad it is. Wrong axle used in a replacement left my 19 year old daughter stranded in the middle of a busy intersection. A week later all the newly replaced transmission fluid empties on the road, leaving her stranded, again. Poor child is afraid to drive. God forbid if either of these incidents happened on the highway! Additionally, alignment that was done put the car more out of alignment than when it was brought in. Plus my bill totaled nearly $1000, which supposedly included inspection! This is more than a bad review, it is a safety warning. read more

So I've frequented this pep boys before and always been pleased with service and timeliness, however this last time I went I was thoroughly disappointed I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I opted for a premium oil change service, tire rotation,wiper blades, new air filter, and to top off all fluids. A few days after service my check engine light came on I later figured out after two diagnostics that it was because the technician had not reconnected a hose running from the engine to the cold air intake upon changeling the oil filter, causing the malfunction, they also spilled oil all over my engine block and did not clean it up. They only replaced wiper blades in the front not the rear , and when the engine was hot the fluids were barely at the minimum line meaning they did nothing. This was also at 8am in the morning I was the first customer, not the end of the day where someone is tired and just made a mistake this was pure negligence and lack of care for my property I will not return I will spend my 238$ or more depending on what I have done each change somewhere else. Took my malibu in on 3/20 to diagnose some clicking in my steering column. Waited 4 hours for them to even look at it despite the appt I had scheduled. Nonetheless, finally had my car seen just for them to tell me they don't have the parts. So I scheduled an appt for today, Sunday 3/27 at the 9 am slot PURPOSFULLY so I wouldn't be there all day. I was called yesterday to reschedule to 10 because they opened late for Easter...fine. Was there before they even opened (along with about 10 other people) just to wait in line 20 mins to get checked in. Dropped my car off and went home. Came back around 1130 because I needed a key off my key ring and my car was still parked in the same place. Asked how long before they brought it in and was told 1:00! Why did I make an appointment?! Got a call around 230 fully expecting to hear that my car was done just to be told that they just got my car in the bay (4.5 hours after my appt time) and that they wouldn't have enough time to do the repairs before they closed and I'd have to leave the car. Well this was not an option for me. I wasted an entire day without a vehicle and there wasn't even so much as an apology. Only an explanation that they were backed up from yesterday. They knew they were backed up from yesterday at 10 am when I dropped my car off. At least a heads up would have given me the option to take it elsewhere. For such a big chain the customer service is TERRIBLE. Make an appointment or don't make an appointment, you'll still be waiting for hours. read more

Took my car for an alignment and I told the guy what needed to be done an why my wheels were cambered an needed them to be straight again since I took off my after market wheels off an had my oem stock wheels back on. Also I told the guy that my car had the adjustable camber kit on the front an rear. As I left my car in their care and I thought everything was gonna be A+++. But I was wrong when I got my car back an went home I looked at my wheels an wondered why they were still cambered. The front camber kit were still pretty new. So I jacked up the car and I was pretty pissed to find that they didn't even do anything. All they did was made sure the front wheels were straight with the steering wheel. The front camber kit wasn't even touched . It looked the same when I first brought the car in for an alignment. This was my first experience with this shop and very disappointed. I heard good things about this shop but I guess it was all bs.I will not return to this shop again knowing they don't do things right. An charging you to do almost nothing. Even if I have warranty on the alignment but since they didn't even adjust my front camber kit to straighten up the wheels the first time obviously they won't on the second time. read more

Thanks to the part store manager for helping me out a couple of days ago. I had a 18 month old Bosch battery in a car that I recently bought, which was giving me issues. Even though I didn't buy the battery, nor could I know if it was even bought from a Pep Boys store, they helped me out by swapping it out free of charge for me. Most stores I'm sure would have just offered me a 'deal' on a new battery, but Pep Boys stepped up and got me back on the road again! Most appreciated. read more

I took my car into this shop on Friday 10/11/13 to have the radiator checked because the antifreeze was leaking out. On Saturday morning I get a phone call from a Pep Boys employee who tells me that the reason my antifreeze was leaking out was because the clamps on the hose were loose; and then he tells me that I need a water pump and thermostat which came to a total of $1,300. I tell him I only had $200 and he says can he put me on hold while he goes and talks to the tech. He comes back and says the lowest he could go was $1,201. I tell him that I will come and pick my car up. When I get in my car I notice that my ignition is on without the key in it. I drive my car home and park it. On 10/16/13 I get in my car to drive to work and the temperature needle starts rising up getting ready to go into the overheat mode. I pull into the parking lot of Walmart and open the hood of my car and find a pair of pliers clamped on the overflow hose that is not attached to anything staring back at me. I also notice that there are other wires and clamps not screwed back on the way they were when I took my car into Pep Boys. I call the store and ask to speak to the manager. This guy name Bart gets on the phone stating that he is supervisor. When I tell him what I found under my hood and about the loose cable wires. He tells me that that was the result of lack of communication between the tech who worked on my car and the front desk. Because the tech went to lunch and the clerk closed out my ticket. Now mind you this sounds really STUPID! Because if the tech was working on my car when he went to lunch my car should/would have still been sitting in the work bay not outside in the parking area where finished vehicles are parked. Bart got real nasty when I told him that this was dangerous with the pliers clamped on my coolant overflow hose and that it could cause pressure to build up and cause my head gaskets to blow. He told me it was not a big deal and that it was not dangerous and would not cause any damage to my car. Which was a LIE! Every time I pointed out things that were not right he would respond with a nasty and unprofessional attitude which has completely turned me off from ever going back to Pep Boys are recommending them to anyone else. read more

I wish I could give zero stars to this business. I just picked up my fleet van after 3 days and apparently this is not enough time to change the oil. I dropped it off Friday morning and i just called to see if it's been done yet, it's Sunday afternoon, and they said they don't have it. What? It's a brand new van. I just got the van a little while ago. I got it because when I brought my old beater van to suckboys to have the oil changed they didn't put the drain plug back in and as a result, the motor blew up. 3 years before this I bought a battery here. It failed and I brought it back to be replaced, I even had the receipt. The manager said that he wasn't going to replace the battery because I didn't buy the battery there. I showed him the receipt...he didn't care. He wasn't going replace it. I must be a masochist to keep going there. That stops now. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PEP BOYS!!....I recently took my Chrysler 300 to diagnose a transmission problem, I received a call from them and was told I need a new transmission for just under 3,700$. The mechanic told me he called a transmission shop in Denver that told him I needed a transmission, even though he had never layed eyes on the vehicle. I took the car to another shop and they fixed it for 250$ said I did not need a transmission. I'm so mad that they lied about the type of repair I needed. I plan to go back this week for my refund on the diagnosis. After they read the correct diagnosis I expect to get a refund with no problem. read more

This is probably the worse oil change place to go to. I went in there for an oil change with an appointment and was told to re-schedule when I got there. I re-schedule just to give them a second chance and guess what. I was told to re-schedule on my second trip out there. Wow, really is what I was thinking. They actually want me to re-schedule after 2 tries with them. The customer service from the people there was not super. I felt like I was treated pretty badly just to even ask for an oil change. I ended up going to jiffy lube where they didn't have any problems getting it done. I just think that they don't have enough people working there and I wouldn't say that they would have done a good job at it. I was at this store on 2-12-17 i had the worst customer service EVER TO DATE i took my lexus there for repairs.. today i went to look under the hood and see the work. To my un happy finding they had parts missing of my engine. So i call them they say come back the tech by the name of Zach called me a lier to my face.. his fellow tech Craig slammed the hood of my lexus... and to piss off in so many words... and to top it all off i get a ticket from the aurora police for being upset...i spent my last 408.26 to fix my car.. now i gotta go to court for them not putting my car back together right.SHAME ON YOU PEPBOYS SHAME SHAME AND SHAME now 2 weeks later i called the District Manger for that store and More poor Customer service and support...i have and my family has been going to pepboys for over 40 years but as of that day no more.. when the customer knowing his or her car you can not call them a lieyer.. im a car person i know my lexus. This Pep Boys is very stocked. They have everything from Auto parts to Traxxas R/C trucks. They always have the in stock parts for my Dodge Ram Sport (Even a radiator when mine exploded mine pulling a 28' trailer) and they're very helpful. The sales staff is very knowledgeable and if they don't know then they do have a fairly good computer system that they can print you out information on. I've never used the service center ( I'm a Do-It-Yourself guy) but I've heard good and bad things. Good luck with that. If you need a part... then they should have it. If it costs a little more then they'll also beat any other price by 5%. My hats off to Pep Boys for parts stocking, service, and the best price by 5%! read more

My check engine light came on before a trip to Utah. So i'll take advantage of the FREE diagnostic code. A scam, so many possibilities so they they need to run the diagnostics test. Ok, i got sucked in on that and not really a problem, and the vost of the EGR pressure sensor was maybe a little high but my problem was the labor charge. $125.40 for the install. Right on top of the engine compartment, pop out the electric connector and pull off the two connecting tubes. Install is the reverse. Ten minutes and that's with a smoke break. read more

Yes, they are constantly full and it is hard to book them, - but I rather see at as a proof that they are doing good job that has demand for. I took my car in because I thought it was over heating. They said nothing wrong and charged me $40. It kept doing it but my husband said its a hose leaking on the engine and causing steam. Took it back and showed them, tech agreed and were to replace hose. They called back with $1,000 worth of needed repairs and told my husband $273 for the hose replacement. He called me upset saying that the hoses cost about $20 bucks each and we needed 2 of them and less than $100 labor should be involved). I called PepBoys who told me they now want $370 to repair hoses and basically suggested that I couldn't understand the process and that there was a "communication error" when they spoke to my husband. PEP BOYS AURORA NOT WORTHY OF ONE STAR! what a HORRIBLE Experience I just went to have tires mounted and balanced ( FAIL ) my Bmw has directional tires as well as wider tires and wheels in the back (staggered wheels) in short they mounted tires backwards and had one wide tire up front left and the other wider tire rear right. AFTER I explained the staggered Oem setup. Caught their mess up upon vehicle pickup. Had them completely redo the job. Hit the interstate on way home and the car was SHAKING like no other. Asked for a balancing refund to have a REAL shop balance my new tires... And was told they would rebalance them. They have NO IDEA what they are doing!!! If I can stop One Person from going there I did my job! Pep boys should stick to JUST selling air fresheners....and NEED new MANAGEMENT!!! read more

I took my car in for a fuel pump that burned out. I was told it would be a day or two. The shop didn't call me with updates after I gave approval for the repair. I had to keep calling them. They never called to tell me or ask me about anything with my car. A friend of mine drove past the shop one day and noticed there was a bag over my car window that wouldn't go back up. No one called me to advise or ask if there was a trick to get it up. My car sat there in a vulnerable state in the parking lot and they never notified me. So over a week later I got my car. Only one gent working there advised me about online coupons to help with the inconvenience. While driving away I noticed the check engine light was on which was a new development. I returned and they said they didn't know if this was on beforehand or not. Again, why didn't they ask me? They reset it after a fast test which related the code to, guess what: the fuel pump. So I have learned NOT to bring my car there for mechanical repairs. It's unfortunate and true. read more
