I am absolutely outraged by my recent experience! On 3/22/2025 at 5:43 PM, I dropped my vehicle off and asked the advisor to complete a Turo inspection. I have 9 vehicles that I regularly bring in for service, including a major job like replacing a transmission--this location has received a lot of business from me. However, when I returned to pick up my vehicle on 3/24/2025 at 8:10 AM, after hearing nothing from them--no calls, no texts, no updates--the vehicle was parked out front, clearly marked as "ready." I approached the service desk, where I was ignored for nearly 5 minutes before they told me, "We'll be right with you," while they continued having side conversations. The assistant manager then told me my vehicle wasn't ready because the paperwork wasn't filled out. I asked how it could take two days to complete a simple inspection, and he told me that he doesn't work on vehicles. As the service manager, however, he is responsible for all vehicles under his care. When I pressed him further, he became defensive, insulted me by calling me a "non-element," and claimed I was blaming him for something that wasn't his fault. His attitude was dismissive, and it was clear that I wasn't valued at Pep Boys. I asked for my keys and any paperwork stating the inspection was done. He instructed the advisor to charge me for an inspection that was never completed. I paid and left the store just to avoid any more verbal abuse from the assistant manager. I don't know who hired this person or put him in that position, but he is a poor representative of Pep Boys' values of Passion, Trust, and Safety. As a result, Pep Boys has lost a customer with a fleet of 9 cars, and I'll be reaching out to corporate to dispute the charge for an inspection I never received. read more

No woman should ever come to this place, they think woman are stupid and they over charge us and do NO good work. Looking back on pass receipts they did my tune up on August and September NO car needs a tune up ever month. They did my breaks on Aug and on Dec they were bad, when I took the car back there to get them replaced cause I was still under guarantee he tried to tell me that the sound the at as making were the tires and not the breaks NO tires make that sound. I told them to do an alignment and the asshole changed the back tires to the front and the front tires to the back, that's not an alignment. You fooled me ones with the tune up and over charged me but you're not fooling me again. This place sucks and no one should ever come here ever. read more

Had my car towed here after not starting and after $100 diagnostic fee they sent an invoice of over 1k in charges, many of which were bogus and not needed. We took the car in that the young adults normally use for a service check up. I asked for a checkup and the service person that greeted me by the name of George asked what did you mean as I was pointing at their sign of the managers special. I pointed at the sign again and read all that comes with this service. I also wanted to have them looked into why the check engine light was on. He said we can check it for free with a diagnostic check and I would give you a code or we can perform another service for $89. I asked what I would do with the code and he said you can Google to see what the code means. I asked to check it for free and provide the code. I am not sure if it was too early or why this conversation was so odd. This was straightened out and we left the car and after I called them 2 hours later they shared I also needed rear brakes and two tires. I opted to get the services and they estimated an additional hour and 45 mins. We picked the car up an Doriam shared that there was an additional savings through a rebate for the brakes that could I complete online. This was very exciting because I already had some saving as a part of their rewards program. We get home and the check engine light was still on. I call them and they had not noted or noticed the light was on. So we will return the car on Weds hopefully no additional costs or there is another coupon. Needed four tiers mounted and balanced at 2:30 pm told me it would be done in about two hours ,nope.Came back at six thirty car was on the lift no tiers.Then I watched one guy struggle to take off and mount and balance the tires for 2 Hours! 1 star only because I can't rate zero or negative. I paid this shop $3775 for repairs, within 2 days, the check engine light came back on. The first time this happened, they found they had installed a faulty vapor valve. They ordered the part and 2 days later I went back and it was repaired. 2 days after that, the light came back on. They run another test and it's the same valve again. This time they decided that an aftermarket part wouldn't be good enough and told me theg would order one from kia. A few days later I go back for the repair again and afew days after that the light is back on. When I go back again, they tell me that they didn't actually order a kia part but this time they will. That's the 1st lie, and 3rd repair. The light came on again for a 4th time. I went back and they said they would order the part from kia and send someone to it at 8am the next day. I waited after 1pm the next day before calling for an update. They then told me that the part won't be delivered for 2 more days. 2nd lie, they said they would go get the part. I went back again. They "fixed" it again, and once again, 2 days later the check engine light was back on for the 5th time. I went back and they told me that they expectwd the aftermarket part tongo bad again, so after i left they ordered the part from lia. Thats the 3rd lie, i was told they had already installed a kia part, not an aftermarket part. When i brought attention to this the employee (only reaskn im not name dropping is because i dont remember) showed me a empty plastic bag and said see, we put the right one in this time like I'm just supposed to know the empty bag with no words on it, just 98763856-0oyb or what ever is the right part. For all I know he just pulled it from the trash. When I asked why they didn't put a kia part in any other time he gets an attitude and say we'll I don't know the whole story. I paid you $3775, the hell you mean "i don't know the whole story". They either have zero clue as to what they are doing, or they are allowed to lie to and mislead customers. I will never understand any circumstances take another vehicle to pep boys ever again. I paid $3775 and I need to bring it in for a 6th time so they can act like their fixing the problem. I feel like j should be entitled to getting my money back since they haven't actually fixed my car. Cannot say enough good things about the helpfulness of this store. I visited 3 different gas stations looking to fill a low tire while driving in the area as an out of towner. None of their machines was functional. I stopped here hoping they'd let me use their air pup and they couldn't have been nicer. This time I didn't have to get on the highway to realize it was even worse than the first time. ALERT! Tire Pressure light came on while driving in rush hour traffic on 436... freak me out royally!! So I'm frantically looking for someplace to get the tires checked because here comes one of those monster daily rain and lightning storms for which Orlando is famous and getting stuck with a flat tire is not an option! When I go inside, there are several customers at the service counter and I am thinking "great, I'll be here all dang night!". Then the nice man behind the counter asks how he can be of service and when I explain my issue, he says to pull around to the " free tire pressure check" and gets on the intercom to have a very nice young man Odesh meet me. I needed to get my tire pressure checked and this was one of the few places in the area that was open past 5pm for the working folks! When I walked in, I was directed to the service desk which took a little while but the woman behind the desk greeted me and assured me she would be right with me. As soon as I let her know I was in for something so minor, she told me to pull my car up to the side of the garage. Walber was great and checked tire pressure and filled up each of my tires. He gave me some tips on how to check on my dashboard too. In no way did he ever come off as condescending to someone who doesn't tinker around with cars in their spare time. He was actually quite helpful. I don't think they advertise this courtesy service but I appreciate that they offered to do for free even though I would have paid! I will make a point to come here for other car services and products in the future since it's close to home. Very nice and pleasant experience! read more

Friendly, incompetent. Went there to drop off used oil, while I'm there I asked how long it would take to check the AC, was told half an hour. I specifically stated that I believe is overcharged as it reads high on the low pressure side and wanted to confirm. I went with him to the car so he can get the information, and I opened the trunk and showed him the oil and asked if he needed help taking it down, he said no. I walked across the street and came back 45 minutes later, still haven't looked at it. At the 1:15 mark I asked him what's the hold up, and he told me that they only have one AC guy. I asked him if it had to be the AC guy or if any of the guys out there know how to check refrigerant level, a manager overheard and assured me they'd check it now. And they did, and they told me about 20 minutes later that it's not low on refrigerant and I would have to pay $70 for a a more useful answer. I declined, and I didn't get my keys back until the 2 hour mark. I remained calm and left, half my day wasted for nothing, only to realize after driving five miles away that they didn't freaking take the oil! Holy crap, the incompetence. read more

I had a 12:00 appointment to have my oil changed and was told "unfortunately you'll have to wait an hour and a half before we can get to your car".....it's now 3:15 and they haven't even taken my car back yet. All the mechanics are moving slow, laughing and dancing and clearly having a great time taking forever to work on the cars. I've asked 3 times how much longer it would be and twice they said my car will be taken back in 30 minutes, and this last time I asked they told me it'll be another hour. What is the point in making an appointment here?!?!?! I have a road trip tomorrow so I have to get and oil change otherwise I'd leave! Absolutely love using this SPECIFIC pep boys location. They always work out the best price which is super competitive to the dealer and other area service shops and very trustworthy staff, technicians, and manager. The manager who is Andrew is very personable and does a great job explaining my service very well and honest recommendations considering I drive a luxury car which I plan to keep long term. He gave me a full breakdown of all the preventative maintenance I should do and when I should schedule the appointment for them as they come along. They even throw in random misc things I have to do for no charge while they have the car for big services such as switching out my air filter which I purchased and was gonna do myself but the technician saw it in the car and just saved me the hassle. Another example was when one of my rim protectors was coming off and it requires jacking the car up, deflating/inflating the tire to get it on and off and they just took care of that which saved me a huge hassle of doing that on a weekend for such a small task. Always accommodating to my schedule so I can just pick up and drop off and makes sure my final bill is always accurate so I don't have to waste time asking about it when I'm on the go and just want to be in and out. They also offer Lyft rides whenever I need to come pick up the car or get dropped off which has helped tremendously and very nice perk! I had an excellent experience at this location. I ordered my tires online and purchased online (or so I thought, more on that later). I went to the location a bit earlier then my 12:30 appt, I understand they are busy it was a Sunday, the gentleman at the front (Chris) was a very nice younger guy who did everything quickly told me about an hour. I came back after an hour and my car was still there so I sat to wait it out and he found out that they hadn't started it yet so he made sure that they did. Once started about 30-40 minutes later he tells me that they only had 3 or the 4 tires but he found a store location in Sanford had the 4th tire and they were bringing it. He ordered me an uber to take me home and pick me back up so that I did not have to wait for the tire to arrive and them to put it back on. They called me (Jose, who put my tires on) once my car was completed and set up the uber, it was all very easy although it took pretty much the afternoon to get completed I felt they accommodated for that with the uber by not making me wait around. Now for the payment part of this, I ordered everything online however come to find out inventory is not always correct ( I do not blame the local location for this) and also apparently when you think you are paying online you are really only giving a card for a temp hold. You have to pay once services are finished. This again I do not feel is the local locations fault more of a corporate website fault. Luckily, this guy at the front knew what he was doing and took care of his customers. He tried to help everyone that came in that I witnessed coming in to ask for different kinds of services. I felt compelled to create an account and leave a review after the poor experience I had this morning. Made an Appointment for a routine oil change at 10:30am. Arrived a few minutes early, and was helped by a friendly lady to get checked in (I think her name was Stephanie), she is the only reason this review is two stars and not one. I had forgotten my coupon at home, but she was gracious enough to offer the $20 discount to me, which I was thankful for. So far so good..... that is until the wait time starts to get a little bit excessive. An hour goes by, it's now 11:30 and still no update. I'm starting to get nervous as I had plans at 1pm and still had to go home and change. 12:00 pm rolls around, I approach the front desk and inquire about by car. The gentleman there told me "we are wrapping up, should be another 15-20 minutes ". Okay that's fine..... it's now 12:30, I get called up to the desk thinking that I'm ready to go. The team now is offering if I want to change my cabin air/AC filters (car still not ready). I agree, thinking that they would be popping them in and we'd be done , since they had removed them to present the filters for my inspection. It's been almost 15 minutes and I am still waiting (I now have to cancel my plans, unfortunately). I finally get the text message with the vehicle inspection report at 12:43pm... finally get called up to pay at 1:09pm, I'm incredibly frustrated by this point, the woman that helped me initially was apologetic about the wait, and offered to give a discount of $15. Thanks for making the effort I suppose, but I'm just dying to get out of here at this point.... The bill comes due at $180! I pay it, and leave feeling like an idiot for having wasted the time, and now the expense of the whole experience. The icing on the cake though, when I get into my car and turn it on the check tire pressure light comes on.... After they did the tire rotation included in the "managers special". Unbelievable. So pissed at this point that I drove home, cooled off and filed a complaint with customer service. Have yet to hear back from them. Vote with your dollar and take your business elsewhere. read more

The lady quotes me and I tell her Ill be there soon. I call back no more than 15 minutes later asking how long it will be once I get there, a gentleman told me an hour. I get there drop off my car around 930, I have my friend come pick me up for some lunch and I call back two and half hours later to be told I have one in front of me and it'll be an extra three and half hours. I say absolutely not, Im coming to pick up my truck. Once I get there MY CAR IN THE BAY IN THE AIR?! Do the people who work here dont listen?! I said I was coming to get it, dont worry about it. Came in before 10am (in reality 9:40) and had to wait an hour to get my car brakes checked out, which was understandable. Was told it would be no longer than a 1.5-2 hours wait for the service to be done. Called back to the store to check on the car's availability because I did not receive a phone call at 1pm (3 hours later). They told me they didn't have the part and they had to go to call another location to get it, asked them how long do they think it would take for them to get the part and install it. Another 1.5-2 hours, which is ridiculous! I should have been notified from the beginning that they did not have the part so I could plan my day better. You don't know what a person has to accomplish or needs to do in a day, how can you completely have no regard of the guests/customers that come into your establishment. State troopers give better service during an accident than the employees on the floor at pep boys. First and last time coming to pep boys. read more

I had a 10 am appointment and my car wasn't ready until 5pm that was the first problem because all I was having done were my fog lights checked .Come to find out was that the bulbs had to be replaced. Now I have a warranty that I asked to be used so I was told by Dorian who I am really disappointed at!! told me that my warranty does not cover it so I paid and reached out to my warranty company to express my frustration with having my car less than 2months and they not covering it. Well come to find my warranty company told me that there was never a claim put in, so luckily I spoke to Richard who help me rectify the issue and refunded my money and used the warranty!
