I came to get my breaks checked cause they were still under guarantee with them and the guy told me my breaks were fine, I took them to another mechanic and he showed me they were not good and needed to be changed. I've been having issues with this pep boys for a while now, I keep going cause they offer a credit card option but I'm don't with them for good. They always lie about doing work you pay for and they use used parts (not new) the receptionist are always rude and they don't respect appointments. We brought the vehicle in with 4 concerns, ABS light, tire pressure light, replace tires, and new a turn signal bulb. Only 2 were addressed, or so we thought. We were called to pay for the service BEFORE we picked up the vehicle I found this odd but paid nonetheless. Upon picking up the vehicle I noticed the bulb had not been replaced and the tire pressure was still on. I mentioned it to the employee in the lobby, he stated it might be a dead TPMS sensor. As soon as I pull off I notice a very loud weird noise and jerking coming from the rear driver side tire. I thought it was due to the 3 new tires and would go away I drove home and it continued it was terrifying it sounded like the entire wheel and tire were going to come off! I tried calling the manager Anthonys number from my receipt, it went straight to voicemail twice. I decided to take the vehicle to the nearest pepboys by my house at 710 W. Highway 436 Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 because it felt unsafe. I'm a contractor I had to cancel 5 jobs totaling $1000 and ask a friend to help take my kids to school because my car is now at the shop AGAIN after I paid $1200 for a repair. The other Pepboy location stated that the part has an issue, if this was the case the first location should have realized this PRIOR to installing the defective part AND properly checked and tested/driven car after installing the defective part and all of this could have been avoided. The 2nd Pepboys location I took my car too had to order the correct part and wait to install it. They immediately noticed the original part was defected, so I don't understand why the first location misses this. I'm now without a car for over a week. I'm beyond disappointed with the service at the Downtown Apopka location and will never return. read more

Dropped off my car July first for alignment, rotation and tire balance. Balance wasn't done cuz they didn't have sticky weights. Tire store with no weights for balancing but ok. No calls all day. Finally at 1600 I call and found out about the balancing. Car sat there all day. Bring it back today August 3. White guy ay the counter, rude and miserable as can be(actually feel sorry for him) He won't tell me if they have the weights cuz he wasn't here yesterday. Since I have to wait for the vehicle this time. He tells me they are backed up so it's going to be a long wait. There's another white gentleman in this prison looking waiting room. He tells the gentleman what's wrong with his car and they can fix it no problem. Completely different tone he use with me. I'm Puertorican FYI. Does not matter where you work or study. We called a few minutes before closing on a Sunday & explained our problem. We were told to come right in & they would look at it. They were friendly & accommodating & knowledgeable. It turned out to be something U-Haul needed to fix. We were thankful they took us in & pointed us in the right direction. Kudos for the great customer service!! The Pep Biys in Apopka gave me great service and I'm very well pleased. I took my 2012 Chrysler 200 in for several repairs and not to my surprise, I couldn't afford to do it all but James understood and cut me a deal. James told me of the repairs that I needed to have done and didn't charge me one dime for the test and hard work his team had done on my car. When I do get the money, I will be back to Pep Boys in Apopka, they are honest, will to work with the customers and truly care about the customer. These guys have no clue as to how to run an appointment system. Schedule an appointment a week in advance only to be told appointments are scheduled online and the employee working on my car doesn't come in for two hours. Why allow an appointment to be scheduled knowing you can't honor that time. Time is money in a busy world and we schedule an appointment to get work done on a timely basis. Management blamed it on the online system but from the outside looking in its a scheduling issue with only one guy working on cars at the time and not properly addressing the needs of the customer and making sure your business is set up to handle the tasks that have been assigned or scheduled. read more

I was missing a few air caps on my tires and they put them on free of charge. Although, it was something small, it meant a lot. It was one less thing I had to worry about. I scheduled an appointment to have a whites installed because I had a burnt out headlight. I showed up at my appropriate time and Craig the manager came out to look at my car installed both headlights in a matter of seven minutes. And to my amazement he didn't charge me anything just wish me a good day and asked me too post a review. So here's the review. How can you ask for a better mechanics place when they don't try to charge you anything and they do the honest thing only to keep repeating business. Incompetent is the word that comes to mind. At 260 E Main St. in Apopka they tried to have me drive away with loose lug nuts on my tires. They didn't put my engine air filter back together properly (it used to have 2 screws) On top of all of that George was extremely rude. He tends to hang up on customers that don't spend their life savings at this store. read more

They told me that my car was missing parts. It's more like they dropped it and lost it and they wanted me to pay them to replace it. They also called me to tell me that One of my tires had a nail in it. And they would replace it as if automatically I would purchase a tire from them without checking the condition or the prices. My car is practically new and so missing parts is not really an option. I made an for an oil change appointment for 8 AM and they told me the car would not be finished till two or 3 o'clock in the afternoon. read more

My daughter took her 2013 Ford Escape 1.6 Ecoboost to have the radiator and timing belt done at Pep Boys 2000 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703. They promised to have the car back the next day, but kept it for weeks, and when the car was ready, the timing was incorrectly set. A loud hissing noise was also evident on acceleration. Took it back and a few days later they said it was "all fixed". She collected the car again, but the very loud hissing noise was still there..So, back it went again--this time the manager tried to give us some BS about the waste gate having to relearn the turbo boost (what boost, there isn't any!). Also she is getting random check engine lights, so not a happy camper after spending over $1K. So ...this situation is still unresolved. I was in the Apopka area visiting my Mom and family for Thanksgiving and my car started squealing and making a loud racket while I was driving and especially when I started it. I've had this problem on other cars before, and it's usuallyl just a belt that needs to be tightened or possibly replaced. I took it to Good Year on Main St in Apopka on an early Friday morning. They said they couldn't reproduce the squeal - it didn't always do it, but my A/C belt looked cracked and worn, so that had to be it. They said it would take around 30 minutes and would cost me $99. I agree and after about 30 minutes, I paid $115 after tax and left and didn't hear the car squeal again....until about 9 days later when I was back home in south FL. The car started squealing again, only worse this time, so I took it to a shop down here. Once I got there, I went with the mechanic to check it out. When he popped the hood, he immediately noticed that the A/C belt that GoodYear in Apopka replaced was in the wrong place. Either they put it there, or it slipped off from the correct location, but the main problem was a bolt was missing that attaches the alternator to the frame of the car. This bolt is essential to the A/C belt being attached correctly. This place located the bolt required, put it on, and reattached the belt correctly for only $35. Bottom line with the job done by Good Year in Apopka...one of three things happened: 1) they didn't know what the hell they were doing and didn't install the A/C belt correctly, 2) they didn't even notice the bolt missing or 3) they lost the bolt and didn't care, figuring it would at least work for a couple of days until I was no longer in town. Either way, they charged me $115 to replace a belt and still did a crappy job. Avoid this shop... read more

I get my major maintenance done at the dealer but I've used this Goodyear, now a Pep Boys, a few times for minor things and have had good experiences. I've gone to them for things like nails in the tire and a new battery. They got me in quick and had my vehicle ready in a timely manner, just as they said. The staff was professional and courteous. I took my 2003 Chrysler Town & Country to Joe Agostino, for a radiator leak,and stalling frequehtly he told me the engine overheated that I blew a head gasket and it was a very big job costing about 2,000 dolllars to fix, I took my vehicle to affordable salvage auto parts on PonkanRoad, the mechanic told me and my wife we did not need an engine,he replaced the radiator for 90.00,and the diagnosis(cost me 52.00 which said I might need an Engine which was false.i got my vehicle repaired for 321.00 versus Pep Boys estimate of 2,000.
