Finally it was time to do something. I was sitting at a car dealership waiting for my car to be serviced and I had Yelp find me a locksmith. Within a just a few minutes I had responses from two locksmiths. Star Locksmiths, Bulent, was reasonably priced and at my home the next morning. The install was quick and he rekeyed the lock to match our existing keys. Their standard call-out fee is almost $300, and that's before they've done any work, and then they mark up the hardware at an extortionate rate. One of the employees told me that they do this because they don't want to do residential work. Since that is the case, they should just say so up front, instead of pretending to service the Brookline community. This is a crappy way to behave towards the community that has kept the business going for years.
