My lovely cousin surprised me this month with the warm and wonderful NY style bagels, (the gift of old European Jews to America), with excellent cream cheese, cream of the summer. We enjoyed that lovely surprise breakfast with Apricot Jam and Desi Chai I learned from another cousin. In our culture, it's not just cousins who are friends and cousins, but the whole human race are cousins, as designated by our God, Allah, in our Glorious Quran, with the most poetic translation by my birthday British soulmate, Marmaduke Pickthall --short story writer and poet turned Quran and Divine lover of Mercy. These are the best bagels ever. I grew up in NYC and I'm a self-proclaimed bagel snob. "P-Bagel" Rivals all the big NYC bagel shops. They have a thin crisp shell and an airy angelic center for that perfect melt in your mouth experience and no toasting ever needed. There are NO good Bagels in New Hope, so I drive 20+ minutes here. Their Bagels are FRESH, they aren't over baked. Besides Bagels and spreads like Cream Cheese/Butter/Jelly/etc, they have Breakfast Sandwiches and Sandwiches for Lunch. I usually stop for Lunch so I'll do a Combo which will get you a side (Macaroni Salad, Potato Salad or Coleslaw) and a Pickle. I haven't had a combo I didn't like. I haven't tried the Potato Salad or Coleslaw because the Macaroni is so good, I can't not get it. If you like Hoagies, definitely try one here. They are made on Bagel Twists! It's busy on the weekends, so I'd get there early or you risk not getting your favorite kind of Bagel. Egg is mine, and there's been a few times they ran out. This is a cute little place. Everything looks clean and appealing. Bagels are very good, and so is the coffee. There are about eight varieties of coffee and lots of lightener options like half-and-half, milk, or almond milk. They have every kind of cream cheese you could want. Everything is very convenient and set up well. Staff is fast and friendly. They make a good egg and cheese breakfast sandwich too. Highly recommend! read more

Pennington Bagel Experience sits in the far corner of Pennington Plaza on Route 31, right next to Diamond's. Nearly impossible to see unless you know where to look. The shop is a community hangout with small and large tables for customers, and a bagel centric menu for sandwiches breakfast and lunch. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. Coffee is strong and flavorful. Ordering is done in the far right corner next to the large bins holding their precious treasures. I ordered a sausage, egg and cheese on onion sammy and retreated to a crumb filled table to await my meal. It arrived quickly with a smile. I liked their rendition of this traditional offering, although it would have been better had the store actually had a grill for the egg and meat preparation. I am not a fan of microwaved eggs, and although very bouffant from the radiation, there was not a yolk to be found. Taste of the egg was bland, but the sausage patty and bagel pulled it through. The bagel was of the light and airy school, which I prefer. I have to remember to ask about the cooking fixtures to avoid the nuked approach to grilling in the future. This Pennington Bagel was generally a good experience, but it could be so much better if they were allowed to use hot steel for cooking. That microwave is holding them back. 3.5 Stars read more

The fact that I've only been to Pennington Bagel a couple times really astounds me because their bagels are great. They're large, doughy and sliced perfectly. Their is a decent assortment of both bagels and spreads, and all of the ones I've tried have been good. My go-to is the whole wheat everything bagel. I love that it is covered in that delicious everything seasoning, as opposed to many bagel places that skimp out on it. I personally enjoy the scallion cream cheese the most, but I'm sure any of their spreads would be a good choice. Staff is friendly and polite, and prices are very reasonable. I've walked out with a bagel and cream cheese for just a few bucks. Pennington Bagel is a fantastic place to stop at for a quick breakfast or lunch fix. Saturday morning was for sure a busy one here, but they were staffed right and very efficient. I'm confused by the layout of this place it kind of backs customers up to the door, and you do have to wait a few minutes to make an order, but the bagels were plentiful and delicious! My boyfriend & I split a plain bagel with some lox and scallion cream cheese which was so decadent and a classic BEC with salt pepper and ketchup. I don't know what kind of eggs they use whether they are from a carton or they're even frozen but they kind of remind me of those egg sandwiches that you'd get at like a Dunkin' Donuts or McDonald's ... not too tasty, but otherwise we both enjoyed ourselves. Been coming here since I was 13ish -- so that's a good 18 years of experience -- and to this day if there's a better sausage egg & cheese bagel sandwich out there, I've yet to find it. The bagels aren't the absolute best I've had, but they're close, and always fresh. All the standard variations (especially the egg, egg everything, and pumpernickel) are excellent. I tend to stay away from the desserty bagels (e.g. cinnamon sugar and blueberry crunch or something like that) but they look pretty good too. The coffee is decent. Yeah, it's young HoVal kids working behind the counter and they can be slow/inattentive, but for goodness sake, it's a bagel shop! And it's the best I've ever found in the area. read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. The employees are MISERABLE. They walk to the counter and stare at you, no "how can I help you?", no manners at all. The bagels were decent, that's about the only thing they had going for them until....I had a HAIR in my bagel a few days ago. Absolutely disgusting. For a classic porkroll, egg & cheese, I'd suggest Udo's. I love the #7 here especially on a Swiss or Asiago bagel! Also, if you skip the side on your combo it's cheaper for you broke kids like me. One of which was to feed a University men's Lacrosse team many, of the "boys" still talk about how good the sandwiches were when they played (Princeton). Not very good service. Bagel wasn't that great. When I walked in it was not very busy at all. I was the only person in line and there were about three other customers in the establishment. There were 4 people behind the counter. Not one acknowledged me. Even a, "we will be right with you" would have gone a long way. Instead it Nothing for about 5 minutes. The woman behind the counter was more concerned about eating her lunch meat and bossing the kids working for her around than any type of customer service. I got a plan egg bagel with nothing on it that completely tasted like cheese. It was not very good. I also got an iced coffee that tasted like water. Honestly, it was the extreme lack of customer service that upset me most. Looks like I won't be making this my new go to. read more
