First time trying this place out. I'm from the east coast(Philly) so I thought I'd see if I got a taste of home today. Not so much!!! But the sandwich was good. tried the classic Italian-which wasn't bad at all but I did ask for extra onions and didn't taste one onion-which means they probably weren't fresh but otherwise it was good. It didn't give me east coast hoagie vibe but it was enjoyable. I also Tried the "fresh squeezed" lemonade too and it was HORRIBLE!!!! Would come back for another sandwich. This feedback is only relating to the cost of sandwich received with an online order. The sandwich in question was a small cheesesteak on white bread. The cost was $8.36 + tax, so $9.11 for one small sandwich! No fries or anything else. There wasn't much meat on it. I know prices have gone up everywhere but this one was a bit absurd. read more

Trenton took our older. This kid is super friendly and respectful. We miss seeing that in our everyday lives. Our first date over 20 years ago was at a Penn Station. I have ate here in the past and never had an issue. Today however was completely different. I placed my order and was not greeted with a hello or any welcome. The place was super slow for 11:30 am. I paid for my order and I noticed the cashier who handles money and operates the keypad in the register was also prepping the sandwiches. As I sat across waiting for my food I noticed the worker took his hat off rubbed his hair back and forth with his left hand repeatedly right by the food prep station. No hair net, no gloves and totally oblivious. At this point as I am totally grossed out I mentioned it to the manager as she as sitting in a booth doing paper work. No apology no real reply except I'll take care of it. She walked back to the prep area said something to the other manager and they both laughed . At this point they called the young man into the back and then they both came out and went back to exactly what they were doing. To top it off the same young man brought my food out with his thumb in my food basket and WITH NO GLOVES! The same hand he just rubbed his hair back and forth repeatedly. I am totally disgusted and am seriously let down. I expected something from the manager like I'm sorry or what can we do to make it right but I got nothing. I do not like to leave negative reviews but this is necessary for health safety. No hairnets because they wear hats is approved, handling food and topping with no gloves I believe is frowned upon by the Indiana Board of Health. I'm sure they will say it's all picked up by utensils so no need for gloves. I watched the bread be picked up by bare hands. I watched the young man cut and fold sandwiches with his bare hands. Wearing one pair of gloves for handling money, using the register and cooking/serving food. Disgusting people. Workers are extremely shitty with you. They never greet you nicely and are obviously rude teenagers who have no respect. They are lazy. Almost every time I get take out I have to go back in to get the rest on my order they forgot. They always have dirty looks on their faces and horrible attitudes when they take your order. I visit this Penn Station often when I'm in the area and am always pleased. The subs are delicious - literally all of them. I don't even have a favorite. If you're with a group, get a large fries to share. There is always a ton. They're lemonade is pretty awesome, as well. The service is always fast and friendly. We have eaten here about every month. Today, we ordered our subs and noticed the cook putting our meats into his hand and counting the slices. I did not see him wash his hands. We get our subs and we started eating them and noticed the same tall cook, put his hand down the back side of his shorts and scratch his butt. He did not wash his hands and we did not finish eating our subs. If your handling meat wear gloves. As far as him scratching his butt and not washing his hands, there is no excuse for that.
