I waited it to write this review. I am very glad to find a good electrician in my neighbourhood. Roman is very professional. My oreal started in the end of Feb. I was in the hurry to find someone to fix the light flickering issue. I found someone to come to check the issue. He did manage to temporary resolved my issue but within one month this came back again. This electrician supposed to come back but he never did. So I started to look around and I found "Roman" just in my neighbourhood. I text him and not for long, he showed up to take a look. Unfortunately the adjustment on the panel except the "PG&E" meter side did not solve the issue but he kept helping me to debug the issue. With Bob from PG&E and Roman (two great guys), determined the "jaws" had to be replaced. Finally on May 5, 2022 with PG&E appointment, Roman was able to get to the meter side to fix the issue. We've been shopping around for an electrician to install an outlet for our new electric vehicle based on recommendations and were getting a lot of run-around with filling out forms online and talking over the phone with different people about estimates/what they "think" can be done based on our wiring configuration. We were getting outrageous quotes compared to what we had expected from reading/researching online so we decided to expand our search. We found Penguin Electric on Yelp and decided to give them a try since they're local. Roman just finished upgrading all my lights to LED and I'm thrilled with the results. We installed Nora LED cans as accent lights in almost every room. Beautiful, what a difference! We also installed new LED lights in our closets. These are so nice, wish we had done this sooner. Roman also installed two new circuits for our bathroom upgrade. And in the living room, he ran speaker wire behind the wall so we can cleanly place speakers in multiple locations. This was a large project that took most of 2 weeks. Roman was very good at troubleshooting the unexpected and applying his considerable knowledge and experience. I also very much appreciated his efficient use of my time and his. Definitely a 5 star job. And here's where he went above and beyond the 5 stars: Roman pointed out that the previous electrician had buried an under cabinet wire in the wall that should have been used in the unnecessarily dark corner. Roman is professional, knowledgeable and responsive. When our ceiling lights failed, we called him to see how quickly he could come by. He was able to squeeze us in the next 24 hours. When he arrived, he knew exactly where to go to fix the issue within 30 minutes. He was also very patient about a few other questions I had for him. I also felt that he was very honest and didn't want to nickle and dime us for additional business... for example, we discovered our LED ceiling lights were incompatible with the old incandescent dimmer switches. He recommended replacing as a DIY since it is easy to do vs him who would be more pricey. We also had a few follow up questions for him which he quickly responded to via text. Roman just left after fixing my backyard landscape low voltage lighting, which I had broken when replacing some plants. He was quick, friendly, and very reasonably priced. I'll use him again. UPDATE: I used Roman again in June of 2016 to do a whole list of small items from installing several new plugs, replacing some old plugs and switches, installing a new low voltage light in the front garden, and installing a second GFI for all the plugs in my front yard that I use for my extensive Halloween and Christmas displays. I was really worried about some issues I thought I was having with electrical switches and Roman advised me that everything was okay and explained the issues to me which was a great relief. Let's just say that he certainly didn't charge an outlandish $300 as I read about one company just to come out. In fact, it was quite the opposite. It was minimal and I really appreciate dealing with a person who is honest and a really nice person to deal with. For sure I will be recommending him to family and friends. Really happy with Roman's job. My circuit break board was burned, and found Roman on Yelp and texted him, he quickly responded and stopped by to check in very short time, and gave me recommendation. I told him I need call my home warranty company, Roman left w/o charging me and promised he would come back in the afternoon. After talking to warranty company, they asked my to let Roman contact them, and Roman went ahead to take care of the talk and get all the needed parts, replaced the whole thing for me in the afternoon, and really made everything super easy for me! Roman is fantastic. He handled all of the electrical work for our kitchen remodel in our condo: replacing/adding GFCI outlets, adding new dedicated circuits for appliances, and installing recessed cans and under cabinet lighting. He's very professional and does high quality work quickly and efficiently. He's extremely responsive, stopping by the same afternoon that we called. He was particularly helpful during the permit/inspection process, as we had little experience in the area and were concerned about meeting code for the electrical piece. We had talked to several other electricians and had received varying responses about what was required, with bids for work that we weren't sure were even necessary. We felt a lot more comfortable after talking to Roman. He had a very good sense for and was open about what would be needed, had worked with many of the Mountain View inspectors, and he stood in during the rough-in inspection. I had been calling around to help with a fix of a ceiling fan I somewhat installed. He was one of the few to answer my call, and the first out of six to have same day availability. Due to a cancellation he came to my house about an hour after my call. He quickly determined what needed to be fixed and took care of the wiring problem I had been attempting to do myself over the past week.
