I waited it to write this review. I am very glad to find a good electrician in my neighbourhood. Roman is very professional. My oreal started in the end of Feb. I was in the hurry to find someone to fix the light flickering issue. I found someone to come to check the issue. He did manage to temporary resolved my issue but within one month this came back again. This electrician supposed to come back but he never did. So I started to look around and I found "Roman" just in my neighbourhood. I text him and not for long, he showed up to take a look. Unfortunately the adjustment on the panel except the "PG&E" meter side did not solve the issue but he kept helping me to debug the issue. With Bob from PG&E and Roman (two great guys), determined the "jaws" had to be replaced. Finally on May 5, 2022 with PG&E appointment, Roman was able to get to the meter side to fix the issue. So far it has been 5 days that I can finally use my appliance. Roman is reliable and honest. Recommended read more

Roman (the owner of Penguin Electric) is everything you would want in an electrician. He's very responsive, efficient, quality-minded and reasonable. We recently sought his service to install outside carriage lights, repair a number of electrical issues, and upgrade some equipment. He provided us with a guaranteed price and an estimate of how long it would take to perform the job. I had requested some additional upgrades to the service and he talked me out of it by noting that as long as there are no problems, I should save my $. How refreshing to hear that! I highly recommend Penguin Electric and plan to use their services in the future. read more

See Anil V.'s review. Identical experience. Tried all the usual contact methods: phone, email. There is apparently no way to create serious interaction. Of course they're busy but surely they could at least respond. read more

Professional, courteous, easy going and knows his stuff. Customer service is king for him. I would highly recommend Roman for your electrical needs. He displays a high knowledge of his professional and does clean professional work. Call Penguin for your electrical needs today! read more

We've been shopping around for an electrician to install an outlet for our new electric vehicle based on recommendations and were getting a lot of run-around with filling out forms online and talking over the phone with different people about estimates/what they "think" can be done based on our wiring configuration. We were getting outrageous quotes compared to what we had expected from reading/researching online so we decided to expand our search. We found Penguin Electric on Yelp and decided to give them a try since they're local. As soon as we contacted Roman, he immediately responded and offered to come on-site to check out our house - I was shocked as no other electrician had offered this option! Throughout the entire process, Roman was very responsive, straight-forward, and accommodating. He gave us a very reasonable quote for the job so we decided to go with him. We are SO glad we found him - will definitely call him again in the future if we ever need an electrician! read more

Roman installed for me a new Circuit Breakers Panel and add 3 ceiling lights. His quote was fair and very reasonable. He went with me to Home Depot at no charge to choose the light fixture. Roman is professional, honest, patient, helpful, and straight forward. He done high quality job quickly, neatly, and accurately. Roman helped me in getting the city permit and follow up for inspection. All work passed the city inspection without any issue. Because of his vast experience he advice me on what the city needs from me for the final inspection. Roman has extensive experience in electrical work. I definitely will call him for any electrical work. I highly recommend Roman for any electrical work. read more

Great service! We'd been having issues with our main panel and circuits being tripped too easily. In less than an hour Roman had moved some wires around and we haven't experienced the issues since. I will call Penguin Electric again if I need any electrical work. read more

Roman just finished upgrading all my lights to LED and I'm thrilled with the results. We installed Nora LED cans as accent lights in almost every room. Beautiful, what a difference! We also installed new LED lights in our closets. These are so nice, wish we had done this sooner. Roman also installed two new circuits for our bathroom upgrade. And in the living room, he ran speaker wire behind the wall so we can cleanly place speakers in multiple locations. This was a large project that took most of 2 weeks. Roman was very good at troubleshooting the unexpected and applying his considerable knowledge and experience. I also very much appreciated his efficient use of my time and his. Definitely a 5 star job. And here's where he went above and beyond the 5 stars: Roman pointed out that the previous electrician had buried an under cabinet wire in the wall that should have been used in the unnecessarily dark corner. I was so grateful that he noticed it and pointed it out to me. Don't hesitate to call Roman, it doesn't get any better than this. read more

Roman is professional, knowledgeable and responsive. When our ceiling lights failed, we called him to see how quickly he could come by. He was able to squeeze us in the next 24 hours. When he arrived, he knew exactly where to go to fix the issue within 30 minutes. He was also very patient about a few other questions I had for him. I also felt that he was very honest and didn't want to nickle and dime us for additional business... for example, we discovered our LED ceiling lights were incompatible with the old incandescent dimmer switches. He recommended replacing as a DIY since it is easy to do vs him who would be more pricey. We also had a few follow up questions for him which he quickly responded to via text. We now feel like we have our go-to-electrician for any future issues/ projects we have. read more

Roman just left after fixing my backyard landscape low voltage lighting, which I had broken when replacing some plants. He was quick, friendly, and very reasonably priced. I'll use him again. UPDATE: I used Roman again in June of 2016 to do a whole list of small items from installing several new plugs, replacing some old plugs and switches, installing a new low voltage light in the front garden, and installing a second GFI for all the plugs in my front yard that I use for my extensive Halloween and Christmas displays. Roman is now our go-to guy for electrical needs. I'm getting ready to call Roman again with another list of small items for him to take care of for us. :) read more

Love to watch this guy troubleshoot. A real tradesman whose experience shows.

Roman knows his stuff, does great work, professional, really enjoyed working with him. Our first experience with him was with installing recessed lights (he provides all materials), left not one scratch on our vaulted ceilings, despite the tricky access via attic. We'll have him back to assist with panel expansion/upgrade. read more

Roman is fantastic! We hired him to totally rewire a house with new service, panels, wiring, and lighting. Excellent quality work on a good schedule. We have recommended him to several friends who also had great experiences. Recommended! read more

Don't want to rate him 5 stars because unlike many other Bay Area contractors, Roman does a great job, schedules easily and charges reasonably. And if he becomes too popular then who else will I call? read more

Excellent service. Installed canned lighting for us. Did a super job, cleaned up after, great and reasonably priced quotes. We've used him more than once and we're about to contact him again for a rental property. read more

Overall great experience! Scheduling was easy, work done well (installed energy monitor). Will definitely use penguin in the future

I was really worried about some issues I thought I was having with electrical switches and Roman advised me that everything was okay and explained the issues to me which was a great relief. Let's just say that he certainly didn't charge an outlandish $300 as I read about one company just to come out. In fact, it was quite the opposite. It was minimal and I really appreciate dealing with a person who is honest and a really nice person to deal with. For sure I will be recommending him to family and friends. Additionally, Roman responded quickly which in itself is great especially when some companies don't even respond to messages. He deserves his 5 star rating and then some. read more

Roman is knowledgable, honest, and does great work. He fixed and added an outlet for us and installed recessed lights in our living room. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Roman and Penguin Electric and plan to hire him for more projects. read more

Roman was amazing! He gave me a very reasonable quote and then was able to come do the work the next week. In fact, he even re-arranged his schedule to accommodate my schedule. The work was done neatly, quickly, and looks and works great. He was flexible to my needs and thoughful about his suggestions. Saw we liked wine and even made a great suggestion for some wine as well! I would DEFINITELY recommend him to anyone. read more

Really happy with Roman's job. My circuit break board was burned, and found Roman on Yelp and texted him, he quickly responded and stopped by to check in very short time, and gave me recommendation. I told him I need call my home warranty company, Roman left w/o charging me and promised he would come back in the afternoon. After talking to warranty company, they asked my to let Roman contact them, and Roman went ahead to take care of the talk and get all the needed parts, replaced the whole thing for me in the afternoon, and really made everything super easy for me! I am pretty sure there are electricians w/ better skills, but how Roman treats me, as a customer or someone in trouble and needing help, really impressed me. He really showed his kindness and willingness to help. Highly & strongly recommend Roman!!! read more

Waste of time! Calling the number gives a message to send an email. No response to email sent. Also submitted a message through their website. No response to that either. Other contractors are also busy, but at least bothered to call back, or had a greeting that said they're not accepting new customers. read more

Roman called me back after my being patient for a day or two. (The "best" are always busy, for good reason!) He did a great job assessing a problem with a "non-standard" wiring job that the previous homeowner did. He quickly put everything back together the way it should be, and charged me a very reasonable price. Highly recommended! read more

Roman did an excellent job for us. We originally hired him to rewire a faulty circuit, but he was able to find the fault and fix it, saving us several hours of work and several hundred dollars of expense. We highly recommend Roman for his responsiveness, sensitivity to his customer's time and budget, and workmanship. read more

Roman is fantastic. He handled all of the electrical work for our kitchen remodel in our condo: replacing/adding GFCI outlets, adding new dedicated circuits for appliances, and installing recessed cans and under cabinet lighting. He's very professional and does high quality work quickly and efficiently. He's extremely responsive, stopping by the same afternoon that we called. He was particularly helpful during the permit/inspection process, as we had little experience in the area and were concerned about meeting code for the electrical piece. We had talked to several other electricians and had received varying responses about what was required, with bids for work that we weren't sure were even necessary. We felt a lot more comfortable after talking to Roman. He had a very good sense for and was open about what would be needed, had worked with many of the Mountain View inspectors, and he stood in during the rough-in inspection. He gave us a very reasonable quote, and his final bill was actually under his own quote when it turned out we didn't need to do everything from his initial quote. We're very happy with his work and would highly recommend him. We'll certainly be calling him again for any future electrical work. read more

I had been calling around to help with a fix of a ceiling fan I somewhat installed. He was one of the few to answer my call, and the first out of six to have same day availability. Due to a cancellation he came to my house about an hour after my call. He quickly determined what needed to be fixed and took care of the wiring problem I had been attempting to do myself over the past week. He was in and out within about 45 minutes and was well worth his fee. I appreciated him taking on what overall was a small job, but a frustrating one for me. read more

Our electrical outlet burned out, and Roman came the same day and replaced it for a very reasonable cost. I highly recommend him for any electrical work. read more

Roman is extremely responsive. My air conditioner stopped working and I thought it was a blown fuse that needed replacing. He fit me into his very busy schedule and came the same day to check it. Although it turned out that my fuses were good and I still need to wait for the air-conditioner guy to figure out what's going on I have a better idea of what to tell him now. I'm happy because now I found a great electrician and I will definitely use him for my new stairway lights! I highly recommend Roman and Penguin Electric read more

Roman is wonderful and is now my go-to Electrician. I can't recommend him highly enough. I've met with him twice on 2 different issues and he's great. Great experience with a simpler than expected job. Roman updated all our old two-prong outlets with grounded tamper-resistant outlets. I had been putting this off because I thought it meant running ground wires everywhere, but he was able to determine that it wasn't necessary. Roman was very professional and prompt in the work he did although a very minor one he was very forthcoming and got it done fast.

I highly recommend Penguin Electric as a trustworthy, prompt, and reasonable electrical company. Roman explained everything he needed to do to put my ceiling fans in and fix my puck lights over my master bedroom sinks. He responded to my inquiries on email, arrived on time, cleaned up at the end of the day, and was very courteous. I will definitely call him again if I have other electrical jobs around the house, and I'd recommend him to my neighbors and friends. read more
