Mom was reminiscing about some British restaurant that used to exist somewhere on the North Shore…read moreso I started Googling to see if I could find another place that might serve British food. Google told me about Queens Cross Neighbourhood Pub so we made a spontaneous decision to come and check this place out for our dinner. Mom ordered Fish n Chips, my daughter ordered a Caesar Salad and I ordered a Classic Queens Mac, minus the bacon. Honestly, I wasn't very hungry. I sort of wish I'd just ordered a Caesar Salad like my daughter, or even just shared her salad with her. Originally, my intention was to order light like her. However, when I found myself in the restaurant...it just didn't feel right to order a salad. How often do we find ourselves inside a British restaurant? Caesar salad just didn't seem like the right thing to order, especially not when my daughter was already ordering it. I felt like I needed to order something different so I could try more of the menu. Hence...I ended up with Classic Queens Mac. I ate about half of it, and took the rest home. It came with two triangular pieces of bread on top. The bread was tasty but honestly...I have troubles understanding why restaurants like to serve bread with pasta dishes. Unless it's a small serving of pasta, it just doesn't make sense to me cuz pasta is a carbohydrate...it's a very filling food already. I was so thankful though that my daughter wanted to eat one of the pieces of bread, so that left me with just one piece to eat. I tried a few pieces of the "chips" from my mom's Fish n Chips. Wasn't too impressed but then again, maybe I should have tried it sooner when it was hot. The fries had cooled down already by the time I tried. My Classic Queens Mac had plenty of cheese pull to it and I loved that they put tomatoes into it. I was also happy that they were able to accommodate my request to make the Classic Queens Mac without bacon. Some of their Happy Hour eats look very appealing so maybe we'd try to come here for a Happy Hour sometime. Wish they'd add a Sticky Toffee Pudding to their Dessert section!

This time, my husband and brother came by to visit me after work, so we headed over to take advantage of their Happy Hour which runs every day from 2:00 PM-5:30 PM & 9:00 PM-close, plus ALL DAY Monday! It's a massive location with two full floors of seating and stunning waterfront views. Our server was awesome and gave us the absolute best recommendations for our table. We fueled up on an epic spread: - Tap Snack Burger & Fried Chicken Snack Burger: Perfect bite-sized, flavorful burgers to kick off the meal. - Hot Honey Calabrese Pizza: The ideal balance of spicy, savory, and sweet. - Maple Bacon Hot Wings: Crisp, sticky, and packed with flavor. - Truffle Waffle Fries: Absolutely addictive, a must-order every single time. - Sour Cherry Lemonade & Pink Lemonade Slush: Super refreshing and the perfect Happy Hour treats. Between the amazing food, great drinks, top-tier service, and unbeatable patio vibes, it made for the perfect post-work catch-up. Always a 10/10 experience here!

We love going here for cheap, quick eats and more formal sit-down meals as well. The new management has also given it a makeover, and it's interior looks great! Found a place on the Too Good to Go app called The Cornerstone Bistro by Monika's, decided to check…read moreit out and it brought me here. I was intrigued by the location even before I came here in person as I could see on the map that it was in a residential area, away from main streets and other commercial businesses. There was only one lady working here (Monika). I came here with my mom. She ordered a Chai Latte and I ordered a Matcha Latte. Our drinks came out fairly quickly but we had to wait quite awhile for our food. We had each ordered a slice of quiche with a bowl of Potato & Leek soup. Monika realized we had waited quite awhile for our food and brought us a chunk of carrot cake on the house to make up for the long wait. She said this cake was their bestseller. No room to eat the cake as tummy space was already taken up by quiche and soup, so we brought the cake home. The cake was quite good indeed and I enjoyed the quiche as well. Drinks and soup could have been better. I would have preferred my Matcha Latte to have been sweeter and my mom felt her Chai Latte was a bit too sweet for her. I think this place has potential and perhaps might do better with a bit more help. It's a charming space in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I do hope there will be more staff working here eventually. Kinda sounded like Monika had taken over this shop not too long ago so...guess it's in a bit of a transitional stage.

After working hard all day, I for one had developed somewhat of a substantial appetite. My other half and I decided to share a platter of Nachos. I confess I did not believe it would be enough to satiate the substantial growls coming from the bottom of my entrails, but I was very wrong. When the platter came, it appeared to me that it could have fed at least 4 of me (and I usually eat like 2 or 3). Well needless to say I understood why it was so pricey. no complaints with a very understanding waiter either. To summarize, the food was great, the portions were huge and the service was excellent. As I was in uniform (and with a supervisor) I did not partake in the drink but it did not take away from the experience. The food is pricey but that is not unusual for Vancouver, and well worth it for the copious size of the dish. The ambiance was classy and chic. I will likely return if back in that area.

We got the pulled pork benedict and also some mimosas. The benedict was quite delicious, but the hash browns were underseasoned. The mimosas were not good - barely any prosecco, more like a glass of orange juice - no fizz at all. In total, it still came out to around $25 per person, which is not exactly a good deal for a very mid brunch. Service was good though the restaurant was very quiet even for a Saturday at lunch time.
