On our way up to Vancouver, as it was quite late, we decided to find a place in Bellingham for a light meal that opens late, and this restaurant checks all the boxes! We went around 10pm and it was not too busy - 1 other table was dining. You walk to the counter to place the order - there's no menu as they only serve beef or potato pelmeni, and we got to do the mix (half and half) for $9 (tax included). In this economy, it is getting harder to find places like this. Portions are good for a lighter meal for 1 person, so if you get it as a snack, sharing it with 2 people is sufficient. Don't forget the sour cream - it's not the American or Mexican sour cream that's strong to the senses. This is very creamy and like a yogurt so we guiltlessly devoured it while eating the dumplings! Not going to lie we heard about this place a year earlier when we were in the area for a pub crawl and we missed out. This time around we were not going to make the same mistake. We did stop in after a pub crawl. The smells as you walk in the place were amazing. Pretty busy late at night, and from what I heard from everyone for good reason. The lady behind the counter took our order and was also the one doing the cooking. Took only 10 minutes or so. Upon receiving them we ate a little bit of each kind. They were both flavorful and delicious, but I prefer the one with curry more, though you can't go wrong either way. We did not finish them but put them in the fridge. Highly recommend by my girlfriend, she said this was one of her favorite late night snacks. This shop only serves two items - beef and potato dumplings. I got the combination that came with both types of dumplings that are then topped with curry powder, cilantro, Siracha and served with side of sour cream and bread. I enjoyed them with or without the hot sauce (sriracha-like), but didn't try the vinegar (sounds interesting). $9 for about a dozen and a half dumplings seems like a good value in today's economy. Incredible dumpling spot pretty close to the I5. Stopped in here after a long delay at the border and our usual stop was closed and it did NOT disappoint. Menu is very simple. Two options: beef or potato. Your dumplings come topped with curry powder and hot sauce and cilantro. Highly recommend grabbing some sour cream on the side as it balances everything so well. Dumplings are made to order, so you may be waiting a while on a busy day, but the wait is well worth it. We ordered one portion each and ended up ordering another for the road they were so delicious. Wow! I've been here at least a dozen times and it's usually great, but my most recent experience tonight has ruined this place for me. Service was very poor and when I asked for assistance with my sauce (I am disabled), I was met with a stern "In a minute." Once i received my food, I noticed I was only given a few wilted cilantro ends! Poor service is one thing but taking it out on the meal is another! I want to start off by saying overall I really enjoyed this place and the food was good. There was not a "wow" factor and I was both disappointing with the authenticity of the food and also the portion vs. the price. I come from a russian background and my mother makes this food often at home. While this is a chain, and I understand it is not going to taste quite the same there were still some critiques I had of the food. I was surprised that there was a sweet hot sauce and cilantro, typically traditional Russian dumplings do not come with these specific garnishes. Usually you add dill, mayo, red onions or vinegar. Not hot sauce and cilantro... I was told that the recipe was either from some Russian lady or off Google. Either way, I was surprised. Now the price point, it was 7$ for 20 dumplings, which were very small. I think this is a good snack, but if you are looking for a place for dinner and you are hungry, this will not be the place to go. I would come back here, and try it again. I also think the meat dumplings were more authentic than the potato. Overall I would recommend this place, but just know it wont be a authentic dish if that is what you are expecting. Literally my go-to spot to visit every time I'm in Bham. I have tried other Russian dumpling places in Seattle and south and nothing can compare to this place! Usually they take about 10 minutes to make but you can also call to order ahead. They have a fridge with cold drinks and you're able to add sauces and things to your dumplings after you get them. Staff is always friendly and welcoming. I love they collection of records and you're welcome to request one or to change the track if you want. I've been coming here for years and we'll literally make the 2.5 hour drive just for these dumplings again. read more

In the past it has been an absolutely amazing and has had pretty great customer service, but the woman working in there tonight was notably very rude to everyone in there. She snapped at me when I gave her my name and asked if she wanted me to spell it out, I proceeded to tip her regardless of the tone, assuming it was just a one-off comment, but she later proceeded to yell out things to customers waiting patiently in line for their food such as "for ______ food who doesn't tip!! Then "by the way everyone, I make sure to give the people who don't tip less than the people who do!". She was also cussing profusely to and around customers, even right when they walked up to order.
